Thanks for reviewing! Interesting comment on the symptoms of PTSD. I never worked specifically with that kind of patients, so I only have a general idea about how the condition works. Naturally, I made Harry’s condition up as a separate entity of the magical world, but I still meant it to resemble the Muggle condition - there is the depression and the flash-backs (which took form in the paintings) that you’ll recognise. I did not want to make Harry very anguished, however, more sad and exhausted, if you see what I mean. I believe that usually there might be a substantial amount of anxiety involved in PTSD and with that also psychosomatic symptoms which can be very peculiar indeed, in my experience :-) Our bodies are experts in expressing what our minds refuse to acknowledge. Harry’s numbness has something of that and it is also an image of the emotional depletion that he suffers from. In my mind Harry is somehow beyond fear and anxiety, having lived through so much horror.
