Woah! Poor Harry. Is his mind messed up forever now? I hope not. It seems that he doesn't eve remember Snape! Great one-shot, thanks for writing and posting!
Author's Response: Thanks Jan :-) Well, you could look at it in two different ways - on the one hand, Harry only says "Hello", as if he isn't sure about the identity of his saviour, perhaps leading us to believe that he is completely broken after his terrible experience at the Ministry. On the other hand, if you read the ending carefully, there is a clue that Harry could be well aware that he is talking to Snape, so it could be inferred that he will fully recover from his ordeal. I must admit that when I was writing this, it became far darker than I had initially planned and I found it hard to write the whole St Mungo's bit. I needed Primrose there as a bit of a foil for the dark deeds of the Ministry that had poor Harry completely catatonic :-(. I kind of want to keep writing this story now! I need to find out what happens with our boys in the aftermath!

I enjoyed this so much I signed up just to be able to review. Your Snape was impressively on point. I liked your FOC Healer Popplestock who probably was thankful that someone came to break Harry out of there. I know this is a one-shot for a contest but it has the potential to be so much more. I hope you will consider adding to this one day if your muse is willing. I'm giving this an eight because I mark far more like Snape than Hagrid. You have exceeded my expectations. Best of luck!
Author's Response: Thanks Ophelia! I must admit that when I finished this piece last night, I went to bed thinking about more plot. I'm not very good at just writing a simple one-shot, it turns out...
That was a good ending!
Author's Response: Thank you! I wanted it to feel like both Snape and Harry were acknowledging that Snape rescued from his horribly traumatic ordeal (literally bringing him back from the abyss!) but without going into all of the fallout. I know it does leave a few questions unanswered but, well, it's a one-shot and I am new to writing something that is short and sweet.

This writing contest is both good and bad. Good because we are getting some awesome stories out of it, including yours. Bad because every single one of them NEEDS to be more than a one shot. I congratulate you on successfully getting back into writing!
Author's Response: Thanks Shellie :-). It feels good to get back into it. I have started writing another chapter for my other story on here (Time to Choose), so I hope to have time to get that done soon and start on my submission for Round 2!
