Reviews For Electric Avenue
I couldn't believe when I watched a clip from one of the HP movies on YT (I wouldn't watch the movies on a bet! But I like to watch Alan Rickman anytime!) that they pronounced Lucius as Loo-see-us! Most ridiculous thing I ever heard! The American pronunciation is Loo-SHus! According to the Oxford Dictionary pronunciation guide: "ci", "si", and "ti" before and after a vowel are always pronounced "sh". Thus, Lucius = Loo-SHus. Leave it to the Brits (Aussies ARE Brits) to mess up a good thing! These are the same people who pronounce "aluminum" (al-loom-ee-num) as al-you-mini-um! There's no extra "i" after the "n"! Idiots! I've been calling him Eli for short cuz *that's* what *I* know. Now, that we're past that silliness: I was scared when he kept slurring that the anoxia had caused him brain damage which would be tragic! Sev *has* to get that damn thing out of him! I don't think he'll survive another curse! Tks! MelJ
Author's Response: Aw, thanks! There were a few other stories which fit as well, but I couldn't find the entire text for them and I didn't feel like doing that extensive of research... Oh well, glad you enjoyed.
I love the reviews people leave here they are so interesting and the fact that you take time to answer or comment, thank you for that and of course the story. Author's Response: Yeah, the healing sleep was very much inspired by sedation, though without so much of the paralytic effect that most sedation causes. So he could move, just not well or much because of the all the other potions he was on. Don't worry, I have a plan for Hermione and Ron. And a few other people who have been kinda bebopping around in the background for this entire story. One of which comes up in the next chapter and who has a MUCH HIGHER potential for problem causing. I love the reviews and I do enjoy responding to them, especially when people are so close to figuring out what's going on! There is one particular thing which we're going to be running into in ... (checks notes) ... four chapters which not one person has mentioned but is literally hanging out there and the urge to point it out and scream "look!!! its a major plot point" is so high but it's such a major spoiler that I can't bring myself to do it! I'm just waiting for someone to find it. In short, the reviews give me purpose.
Author's Response: 1: Thank you! I enjoy doing the research and making sure things mesh well with reality and canon. You don't want to know how many tabs I have open at any given time when writing. 2: I'm glad he's awake to, but... you'll see in the next chapter. 3: I know right! Like wtf don't hit kids anyways! Let alone kids with powers! 4: I've loved that pronunciation for a long time and literally cannot read the name with the English pronunciation anymore. Same with the name Julia; 100% pronounce it Yoo-lee-ah like my German friend says it. 5 and 6: His brain may be muddled, but I figure let the kid have at least some memory of the major events of his life. For good and for bad. Didn't think I'd respond to all of it, eh? Well guess what! I did! Hahahaha. Next chapter is up. Enjoy more feels.
Author's Response: Oh, I feel that! I'm a huge sucker for hurt/comfort (if you can't tell from my stories). Next part is up and.... well.... don't get your hopes up on the confusion. |
