Reviews For Blessings In Disguise
I really like your original characters, they are just developed and described enough. I really liked Severus' disguise as an old man. I loved reading from Snape's point of view. It makes sense that he would love being alone at night as his form of socialization. As an introvert it makes sense. Same with staying up all night, and sleeping when most others are awake. I loved how Snape spyed and followed Harry. It must of been a big shock to realize Harry is living next door. Haha! Great story so far! I am really enjoying it. Thanks for writing and posting another one!
It's a tribute to your writing when I say that this story has me anxious. Like, the whole vibe is dark and depressing in a way that's different from most abuse stories. Maybe Harry's struggle is so detailed that you get pulled in to the story and feel what he's feeling. You've always been my favorite author - I'll have you know. Just the other day I found another story/author that I loved, and I thought "Man, she's almost as good as JAWorley!" I kind of judge the stories I read based on how good they are compared to yours, which may sound strange - and I don't know why I'm saying it, but I felt the need to let you know that's how much I truly adore you and your writing. Anyways, to the story again. I want SO BAD for Harry to be ok in this story. I want him to eventually (maybe? one day??) warm up to Severus a little, or at least realize that he's there to help him and not hurt him. I also really hope Severus doesn't drive him away. He did well to adopt him, and that's a good way to keep Dumbledore off their back a little, for a bit anyways - but I'm still afraid the Headmaster will muck things up. Anyways, I've rambled enough. I can't wait to see where this story goes! Author's Response: I love hearing things like this. Thanks so much for taking the time to let me know :) I've been working on this story for a couple years and waiting til I could get some of my unfinished posted ones completed before I posted it. Does the other author you mentioned write HP? If so who is it so I can check out their work :p I love reading awesome HP fan fic and am always open to suggestions.
I always wondered about the blood wards... like - how far out do they actually extend? Every author seems to have their own idea on it, and I haven't read the actual books in so long I can't even remember if there was anything mentioned about it in them. Either way, I really like where this story is going, this beginning chapter was quite loaded. I feel so bad for Harry. :( |
