Great chapter! I wonder how Severus would have turned out had he been a Gryffindor — and I wonder if little Sev will end up being sorted into a different house. I also enjoyed Minerva’s reflections on her time as his colleague.
Author's Response: Ah, that's a good question. I've been half distracted by writing another story so haven't got that far but it's been something that's been on my mind and I plan to do at least one chapter showing his journey to Hogwarts and something regarding his sorting. He's going to change quite a lot since he's about 5 years old, which means the better half of his childhood before Hogwarts will be spent with Harry, Hermione and all their friends and teachers so Slytherin won't necessarily be the best house for him even though it would be a good excuse to write him in Slytherin and not going down the evil path. He's also very intelligent, very loyal and hardworking and very brave,something which will no doubt increase from spending his childhood with Harry and his friends. The dilemma is which will be the dominant factor in his sorting and will he want to live up to the legacy of his adopted father or his namesake or forge his own path without the pressure of anyone else's expectations, I can genuinely think of reasons for each house and may end up writing more than one ending.
This was a really sweet chapter. I enjoyed the bath scene with the magical toys and bubbles. What a wonderful contrast to the challenges little Sev has faced. I love how compassionate and understanding Harry is being.

Hermione seems like she’ll be an astute and supportive friend for Harry through this. And her and Severus’s mutual interest in academics, excellence, and books is a great fit. I agree with your assessment of Ron.
Author's Response: Yes I agree that Harry and Hermione are both a good fit to support Severus through this. Harry and Severus both klnow what it's like to be neglected and abused or at least to grow up in a household where they are not given the love or care they need and deserve so they understand each other and can support each other. I think Severus is a person who likes his books like Hermione and is very intelligent and studious so I can see them connecting and bonding over that. Also Hermione is very asutute and observant she sees things that others don't, she m,oastly defended Snape and may have realised that there is more to him than the way he presents himself to the class.

Author's Response: Yes,nothing against Ron but not the right person to be butting in and unitentionally saying something that may make things worse. I agree I think Hermione is more patient and would be able adapt and accept what's happened much more easily and without bombarding them with questions knowing Harry will tell her later

Author's Response: thank you, yes they've both got a lot of adjusting to do but Harry definitely wants to do right by Severus and protect him after all he's been through, it's maybe as much a second chance for him as much as it is for Severus
