Interesting! I like the challenge that shadowienne posed. I can understand Snape’s obsession with the watch, and it will be fun to see if (and how) he gets it back. I wonder if he’ll learn something about Harry in the process.

Wow! I'm so pleased that you responded to my Challenge! (I wasn't sure that anyone actually would... 😁) I love this opening -- a coming-of-age watch is so personal, I can understand Snape's obsession with getting it back. Now comes the fun part: waiting/watching to see how he goes about doing so! And I'll leave that entirely up to you (*wink*). [My only question right now concerns your 5th Year Defense class: the 1996 fall term and the fact that Harry has already earned an OWL in DADA would indicate that this is actually 6th year, right?] Please keep writing -- am loving the POV you've chosen, letting us inside Snape's head, making it ultra-personal, which works really well for this story.
