    ooh... this is really good

snape is so obviously an introvert, i like that you acknowledge it...but the gentle part is so humorous! *images of snape peting pygmie puffs enters mind*

    but i don't doubt it

    cheers!

Ooh, this is interesting! Hmm, my current guess is that James and Severus are brothers, but I could be wildly mistaken (I often am!).  I like how Hermione had calculated the bad days; that was so very Hermione.

Snape's clothes were fun, with the dangerous edge to an elegant ensemble. Snape vs Voldemort was also fun. Snape was pretty brave there; what a horrible game to play. The comparison between torture and teaching was also cool; though one has to wonder why he stays teaching if he hates it...

I really enjoyed reading this chapter; I like your dialogue and your descriptions.

Thank you very much.  It is a pleasure to see people enjoying the story.  A wonderful artist by the name of perselus at Deviant art has illustrated Snape in his DE robes.  http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/22995064/

I must say that's this is *quite* an impressive piece of work. In all my years reading HP fanfiction, I cannot remember ever reading a story with a plot even remotely similar to this. It makes for such a fresh reading! But also for a very interesting, ablbeit dramatic, one. My heart felts for Severus, his outstanding courage and self-sacrifice. I think you described it it best when he tells Dumbledore: "This is a war... To defeat a monster sometimes you need a monster", and I cannot help but find it terribly unfair that Severus has to be that monster (and that the Order acts in such a hypocrital fashion). That leads me to say that your characterizations are superb, all very human and realistic. I can only hope that in the end all turns out well...or as well as it can be expected. Great job! And thanks for sharing.

Author's Response: Thank you very much. Severus has quite a lot on his plate in this tale ( a the author knows what's coming) and it is going to get worse before it gets better.... JJ

Interesting.. very interesting. I can't wait to see where you're going with this. Was Snape James' brother? Or is there some kind of bond between the two of them? How is that prophecy going to work out? And how is Snape going to rescue Hermione, *if* he's going to rescue Hermione? (After all, I'm sad to say, but I could see Hermione being sacrificed for the good of having a spy in the Dark Lord's ranks. :-/ ) Keep up the great work, and I'll look forward to an update! :-)
