Brendan does a great Snape. Even if he does pay for it later, poor chap. So what was it made Harry collapse, etc? Again, great chapter! I am really enjoying this story. I think I've said that before, though. Sorry if I'm repeating myself. I just love this story. But I'm bad at putting it into words. Author's Response: Thank you, thank you. JJ
Dangnamit, this story just keeps getting better and better. And all the while, immensely intense. It's fascinating, the interactions of known characters, interactions of new characters, the way you spin the magic in the story into the magic of the story. This is amazing! The ritual is intriguing. Everything is intriguing, actually; there's so much detail. And yet you're not explaining things until the correct point, so I still have questions - brilliant! I like when things are only explained at the proper time. In the mean time, I'm just really truly enjoying this.
There is so much in this story that is wonderfully, fascinatingly original. Taking deaths upon himself? A *Muggle* assistant? So Polyjuice works on Muggles, huh? Brendan did a great job. But I feel so sorry for Snape, trying so hard to do the right thing, nearly dying for it, but loathed by those he's trying to help. Such a hard road he travels. But you tell it brilliantly.
Oh, *wow*! That was intense. And brilliant. And intense. Snape is amazing, you know that? The poor man. There is so much that is marvellous about this chapter. Snape's saving of the kids, Hermione's pov of the torture, the reactions of the Slytherins to Remus's presence, poor Draco's realisation things aren't right.... I really, seriously, enjoyed this chapter. But I'm thinking Severus is not in for a happy time at all.... Author's Response: That is defintiely true.... Severus is in for a bumpy ride.
Crimini, that was spooky. I enjoyed the bit with Harry and co at the start (especially Ron's comment about Malfoy giving up Potions!) but when you take the chapter as a whole that takes on a whole new perspective. Sort of a calm before the storm. Even with Harry and Hermione's misgivings, it's a severe contrast to what follows. Treating the ceremony as a kind of religious rite made it even creepier, and I absolutely love your idea of the Dark Mark creation. Very original and marvellously done. An excellent chapter, highly evocative.
Ooh, this is interesting! Hmm, my current guess is that James and Severus are brothers, but I could be wildly mistaken (I often am!). I like how Hermione had calculated the bad days; that was so very Hermione. Snape's clothes were fun, with the dangerous edge to an elegant ensemble. Snape vs Voldemort was also fun. Snape was pretty brave there; what a horrible game to play. The comparison between torture and teaching was also cool; though one has to wonder why he stays teaching if he hates it... I really enjoyed reading this chapter; I like your dialogue and your descriptions. Author's Response: Thank you very much. It is a pleasure to see people enjoying the story. A wonderful artist by the name of perselus at Deviant art has illustrated Snape in his DE robes. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/22995064/ JJ |
