Harry told him the truth, Albus tried to get him to see, but Severus is so very biased still, he does not even begin to question, much less see how wrong he is about Harry, how little he understands his frame of mind or motivations.

am enjoying the story. I can't help but take Harry's side in this whole fiasco, although he may or may not be in the wrong.

    Author's Response:

It's hard to tell who is wrong, I think. I can see both points of view in this situation. There's no perfect child and no perfect parent. Harry feels older than Severus sees him as. He has been trying to learn how to fit into this role of son, but the bottom line is, he's only capable of being the person he's been raised to be- and that person is the opposite of the average child.

Severus doesn't really know how to deal with misbehavior other than that of a student. He is so used to dealing with wayward teenagers this way, he doesn't see how he could be wrong to be so harsh. He just thinks he's doing what he's always done, and that seems adequate. It's going to take some convincing from others to see any other way.

Thank you for reading and reviewing. :)

    Oh wow! Great chapter Rebecca.

I feel bad for Harry, but he really picked the wrong way to get his father to listen to him. Snape regards respect above all else and Harry trying to dictate to him, or at least Snape viewing it that way, was totally the wrong approach for Harry to get his father to treat him as an adult.

I just don't trust Kinnaird nor Malfoy. Hmmm...what are they up to? Curious, very curious.

LOL Dumbles, gotta love the guy. But he just can't put anything over on Snape, and if Snape feels like he's being ganged up on, then he will never ease up on Harry.

I just wonder how many frogs he has to gut, or cockroaches he has to dissect before he gives in. Harry really "is" a stubborn Gryffindor! LOL

I just can't wait for the next chapter!!! I really hope that Harry apologises to his father and then maybe Snape will ease up on him a bit.

Phew, great job Rebecca. Missed this story for so long. I'm just so glad that you're back, and make no mistake about it---you're back with a vengence!

Dear Dumbledore hit the nail on the head. Though Severus has a point, so does Harry, and Harry is used to going his own way, not trusting authority figures to be acting in his best interest. At the same time, Severus is neither listening to/caring for Harry's POV, nor explaining his own. They are two very different creatures, and one cannot change a basic nature, only work with it - a point that seems entirely lost on Severus & Harry... yet Severus is an adult - one would think he should do better than he is!

    Author's Response:

Dumbledore is quite wise, and yes, both parties have good points. One can't really expect Severus to just know how to be a Father to Harry. He has not had much of an example to follow, and all of his past experiences with children has been interacting with students. He doesn't think he is wrong because he is a creature of habit and he's always been a harsh teacher; he's got to grow into his role as a Father, but that's hard to do when Harry is nearing adulthood. He will have to figure out how to be a mentor, rather than a guardian, soon.

Thank you for reading and reviewing, I hope you enjoy the next update :)
