As for abusive James... Well, after reading how he behaved towards Severus it really became clear, at least to me, that he was a bully and not the wonderful person everyone said him to be.

I know that those kind of people can be the worse kind of abusers. Everyone loves them, but at home when no one sees them they can be violent and abusive. The worst part is that if the victim tells, few people believe them. They think is a lie since the abuser is such a charming man, or woman.

So I decided that this could be a good and different approach to him, and his real relationship with Lily.
