The letter is very descriptive and straight-forward - in a letter. This, however, is a story. If you wish to improve it, you should likely remove some of the monotony, well-written though it is.
Author's Response: I will, don't worry about that. The letters are important in the first chapters, and they do make the story go slower. But after chapter seven the story will get more 'action'
