They're sitting in the dorm. Malfoy is staring perplexedly at Harry's trunk.

"Don't get what?"

"They didn't take away all your things, did they?"

He sits down on the bed, scowling. "No. But they took all my money, didn't they? I had to sell something to buy my books."

"Oh. Why didn't Snape pay for all that?"

"I told you. Snape doesn't want me."

"He paid for everything you bought in Hogsmeade, didn't he?"

"Probably ashamed to have anyone see me in rags."

Malfoy rubs his chin. "Yes. I was wondering about that, too...."
