Snape's been doing a fine job pretending not to see him, but Malfoy's taken advantage of it once too often.

Malfoy doesn't have detention, of course.

He's polishing silver trays, and he can see his reflection in each one.

It's hard not to compare, with Snape sitting at the front of the classroom with a stack of essays.

He misses his eyes most of all. Seeing Snape's eyes every time he catches his own reflection gives him a creepy feeling.

He searches for anything he might have inherited from his mother.

He finds it.
