Summary: Harry goes to a summer camp for abused kids, where Severus Snape is consequently a counselor. All details up to you. Must have no slash.

Summary: Harry Potter had a twin (girl or boy, you decide) and that twin survived and is also magic. Somehow they grew up together at least for the last couple of years... at the Dursleys? In an orphanage? On the street? In the wizarding world? All up to you. Harry is very protective and his twin is scared a lot because of how they grew up though his twin does have other redeeming qualities. Harry is scared too but is bent on protecting his sibling no matter the cost to himself.

You decide on how they meet Snape. Either at Hogwarts for the first time or some other way. Should be interesting.

Bonus if it's at least 5 decent sized chapters long. No drabbles. No slash. No sexual abuse in past.

Summary: Severus Snape has a twin who is different than he is. It's an identical twin but has a different personality. Somehow Harry encounters this twin either at Hogwarts or out in the world and somehow this leads to Severus Snape having a different view of Harry. You decide all the details. No slash. If you're looking for a challenge where Harry has a twin, see the Potter Twin challenge by me.

There are so many possiblities here. Some ideas are:
- Both twins teach at Hogwarts and Severus is still Potions Master.
- Severus still has a very negative opinion of Harry as in canon and can't see why his brother doesn't hate the Potter brat.
- Harry may be Severus' twin brother's child and they have just found this out. Maybe his twin dies part way through the story or disappears and uncle Severus has to take over and re-evaluate his position on Harry. Or maybe his twin wants nothing to do with his child and Severus feels like he as the boy's uncle should take responsibility for him however irritating and infuriating the child is and clothes him and gives him shelter?

However different Severus' twin brother is, Severus Snape should stay in character to the best of your ability as a writer, and whatever change that takes place within him for the good or bad should be believable and gradual.

Summary: Harry has to sit at Slytherin table for some reason, and while he's there he discovers some interesting things. Things like the fact that Draco is actually kind of funny, the Slytherins have some kind of secret that Harry is determined to find out about, and Snape is starting to not seem that bad. The Slytherins really look up to Snape and Harry is starting to see why.

Why does Harry have to sit at Slytherin for meals? How long does he have to be there? Who or what is making him do this? All up to you!

Take note: Harry is NOT in Slytherin. He has not been re-sorted and does not have to sleep in Slytherin.

I could easily see Harry somehow finding out that Snape is his father because of whatever secret the Slytherins are hiding. I could also see Harry just really looking up to Snape and Snape becoming his mentor.

This should not be a drabble. It should be a full one shot (4-5 pages or longer), or a multi-chapter story.

Some ideas to get you going:
- Snape is Harry's father, guardian, or godfather and is angry that he is that relationship to Harry (they just found out) and is punishing Harry (even though it's not his fault) by making him sit at Slytherin.
- Harry has somehow become Snape's apprentice while still in school, and Snape is determined to make Harry miserable by making him sit at Slytherin table.
- Harry is being punished for some wrong doing.
- Snape is the Headmaster (or temporary Headmaster) and thinks he is taking revenge on Harry by making him sit with Slytherin, but instead Harry rather likes it at Slytherin table because it's different than what he's used to.
- Because Harry is sitting at Slytherin, Snape observes him closely and discovers some things about Harry's health.
- Harry is there at Slytherin, but the Slytherins are totally ignoring him, which suits Harry fine because he feels like a fly on the wall and gets to observe them without interacting.
- Harry is there at Slytherin, and they are being pretty nasty to him. Does he retaliate or just sit there and take it? What does Snape think about it or do about it?

SO MANY IDEAS! Take the concept or an idea and run with it. Change however you want to fit your story. The story idea generator is a great place to get ideas to fit into the story: http://hpideagen.blogspot.com

Summary: Harry didn't go to Hogwarts when he was 11. He didn't go when he was 12, or 13 either. No one knows where Harry is or what he's been doing. They know he's still alive because some kind of magic has been preformed to prove that he is, but they can't find him.

Then one day someone does stumble across Harry Potter. He hasn't been living with the Dursleys (you decide why). Instead he's been living with another family. A family who has treated him fairly decently.

Questions to think about:
- How is this Harry different from the canon Harry, or the same?
- Who finds Harry and what do they do when they realize it's him?
- Why didn't he grow up with the Dursleys? Where are they or what has happened to them?
- Who informs Harry that he's a famous wizard who is supposed to be in wizard school, and how does he react? Does he want to go?
- When Harry goes to Hogwarts, does he adjust well? What house does he end up in? Does he still become friends with Ron and Hermione? Does he feel out of place or right at home?

Must Haves:
1) Harry must attend Hogwarts. He is either going into 4th year, or 5th year, you decide.
2) Dumbledore assigns someone to help Harry adjust and give him extra tutoring to get him caught up. Who that is is up to you. It could even be a student.
3) Snape must be involved in some way. He can be an enemy, mentor, or whatever. You choose.
4) Harry returns home to the people he's been living with for holidays though you don't have to show this. He loves that family and is unwilling to be separated from them.

All other details up to you. Have fun with it.

No slash, no drabbles. Should be longer than a one-shot.

Summary: Harry turned 17 over the summer and disappeared. Snape is sent to find him to convince him to go to Hogwarts for his last year (or drag him back if he has to). Harry is convinced the safest place to be is out on his own, where no one can hurt or manipulate him. What happens? All up to you. No Slash, no drabbles. One-shots ok.

Summary: The twins had said there would be some sort of magical test before they got sorted as first years... and they weren't lying. The children get sorted by the sorting hat, but only after they preform in some sort of magical test. Then the sorting hat decides based on the results of that public test where they should go. What is this test? Does it happen in the Great Hall or before they get to the Great Hall?

Wherever the test takes place, the sorting hat, staff, and the rest of the school are able to see it, whether or not those being tested know it.

Ideas:

- Could be a solo or group test.
- The first years can be told they are being tested magically, or left in the dark about it.
- Can be any form of magical test.
- Harry somehow gets hurt and Snape has to heal him.
- Snape can either approve or disapprove of how Harry handles this test.
- Are points awarded to those who tested well after they are sorted into a house?
- Is some special award given to one or two who do really well in the test? Something like a special privilege they get that year?
- Possibly students take some sort of magical prowess test every year. Incoming first years take the test before sorting, and all other students take it sometime during the first week. Possibly this is how special status is awarded to Prefects in the upper years?

Can be a one-shot or multi-chapter story. No slash, no drabbles.

All other details up to you.

Summary: Get Harry kicked out of Hogwarts.

OR

Get Ron kicked out of Hogwarts and Harry is somehow involved.

OR

Get them both kicked out of Hogwarts.

You should show what happens after they get expelled and make a story of it. Do they stay expelled? Why did they get expelled? Where do they go/what do they do after they get expelled? No drabbles, no slash. Make it a one shot or longer please.

Summary: History didn't play out like it did in the stories. Lily and James survived and Harry grew up with them. Somebody else's parents died though. And when they get to Hogwarts, Snape ends up looking after this other person. Who is it? Ron? Draco? Neville? Someone else we know well? Here's the big challenge. How does Harry play into all of this? Is he a bully? Is he the person's friend? Does Snape still hate James and therefore Harry or did Snape end up becoming something of a family friend? We've seen tons of Snape adopts or takes care of Harry stories. Now I want to see something different, but obviously with Harry still involved in a big way. What can you come up with? No slash.

Summary: Harry and Snape are mortal enemies. They hate each other, and this will never change. They learn to have respect for each other though (if not grudging) when Harry is alone and dying because of something Voldemort or one of his death eaters has done, and Snape saves his life. Harry doesn't like to owe anyone anything though, and at some later date, he repays Snape by saving his life. At some point Snape must tell Harry, "You don't have to like me Potter. You were never meant to."
