Prompts by Dream Painter Summary: One of the characters died. In fact, many are still mourning this person's loss. But what happens when the one who'd so recently been buried returns, not as a ghost, but flesh and blood? Had they really died, or was it some kind of mistake? Maybe it had been imagined, or a vision, perhaps? Maybe, only one person 'remembers' that this character should be dead.
Bonus if: - The person who died is Harry or Snape - You include the funeral at the beginning of the story - The story is multiple chapters [Report This] Summary: Harry has a new pet - or maybe it's not even Harry's pet, but that of somebody else. Either way, said pet is making a proper nuisance of itself. What's Harry to do when it starts getting him in trouble with Snape?
* It can be any sort of pet you desire; dog, cat, magical, canon (i.e. Crookshanks), otherwise * The pet's owner should be extremely attached to it, despite its naughtiness * It can be a pet that isn't technically allowed at Hogwarts * Bonus if the pet gets into mischief generally not attributed to its species (i.e. a cat chewing on shoes) * NO (intentional) harm must come to the animal. Threats against its well-being perfectly acceptable, so long as they're not carried out [Report This] Summary: I was looking at the various categories, and to my surprise, there are no stories under 'Crossover'!
So, this challenge is straightforward enough: write a crossover between HP and another fandom in which Harry and Snape feature as main characters. [Report This] Summary: In canon, Snape's best friend (and first love) had been Lily and his nemesis and main persecutor had been James. But what if things had been different? What if Severus' best friend had not been Lily, but James? How would this vital difference effect not only Severus himself, but how he responds to James' son?
~ James and Severus must have been close throughout much of their education, regardless of other friendships/associations ~ Severus' relationship with Lily is up to you, but he must have known James first and have been closer to him ~ BONUS if Lily played the role of Snape's antagonist ~ BONUS if the story is longer than six chapters [Report This] Summary: Harry or Snape is suffering from severe PTSD. The other has to help him through it.
The events which caused the disorder can be canon or AU. Category is up to author, as is the inclusion of other characters.
Summary: Write a story with the line (or close paraphrase of the line):
If only someone could hear his screams...
Any category or genre. Surprise me!
Summary: A shocking memory has been secreted away into somebody's pensieve. Whose memory is it and what does it contain? More importantly, how is it that this one memory alters everything for a certain Potions Master and the unwitting hero of the Wizarding World?
[Report This] Summary: Choose a minor character from canon to play an important role in a story. Flesh this character out, or even recreate them - just utilize one of the many canon characters who are so very often neglected or overlooked and have him/her serve as one of the leading cast beside Harry and Snape.
[Report This] Summary: Write a tale in which Snape, Lupin, Harry, and Draco come to be a family in some way. Obviously, some responses to this challenge will be slash (however, this is not necessary).
Suggestions:
~For some reason, Snape, Lupin, Harry, and Draco have to pose as a family. Likely none of them are entirely pleased about this. (Think: We're the Millers)
Note: Not everyone need be an official part of the immediate family to satisfy this challenge
