Final Note 6 - June 2018:

Although it has already been a long time since I have posted or updated anything, it is time to make it official.

I will no longer be writing fanfiction.

I haven't come to this decision because I have run out of ideas or inspiration for my current works - to the contrary, I have put a lot of thought and planning into each of them. Even now, the moments and scenes I had planned live happily in my head. The issue becomes the fact that I have limited free time, so I must choose how to spend it. This is why there have so often been extremely long breaks between updates. In turn, this becomes unfair to readers, as I know that they often have limited free time as well and it is very easy to forget the plot of a story that wasn't born within your own head (and sometimes even then!).

Now, I know many of you would continue to wait for updates. We lovers of fanfiction are tenacious that way. However, since my free time is limited, I have decided that my focus needs to be on my original works.

In that spirit, though a part of me is saddened, I hereby abandon all my current works-in-progress. I will not be updating them again. However, I also open my stories up for adoption, should anyone be interested in continuing them in my stead. (Though, to be clear, I don't honestly think anyone would, but) I ask only that I be credited and that no large portions of my work, incomplete or no, be copied by another (so please link/direct readers back to my work if you continue it).

I've had such a great time in this fandom. Thanks to all who've helped keep the magic alive!

Warm regards,

Dream Painter

Summary: When it is discovered that young Harry Potter has survived the Killing Curse and Voldemort is vanquished, it is decided the best way to ensure the boy has a normal life is to let him be raised under a different identity. His scar does not become famous nor is he remembered as the Boy-Who-Lived; the world is allowed to believe he died with his parents that fateful night.

So who, then, does Harry become? Who knows the truth about his identity? What else is different in this new world? Was Voldemort defeated for good that night, or will he return as in canon? Will the truth about him come out, or will the child be allowed to continue his life in anonymity?

And just what does Severus Snape make of the boy?

Summary: Take any line and/or quote from a movie or series and write a story from it. Bonus if the line originally came from the Harry Potter series but is used in a very different manner.

Summary: Someone finds a pair of Hufflepuff yellow bloomers. Hilarity ensues.

Summary: Harry has decided to begin journaling, perhaps at the suggestion of someone else or recognizing the need to work through a few things on his own. Having purchased the book, he starts writing - only for words in another hand to demand who is writing in the book. Assessing that the journal is not like Tom Riddle's, but is, in fact, a magically paired journal, Harry and his unknown pen pal continue to write back and forth. But who is his anonymous confidant? And what will Harry do upon discovering that his unnamed friend has problems not dissimilar to his own?

-The Pen Pal can be anyone, although preferably a student.

-Bonus if it is someone other than Draco (whom I love, but I would really like to see someone else cast in the role this time).

-How Snape is involved is up to the writer.

Summary: Harry and/or Snape find themselves reliving the same span of time over and over again. What caused this phenomenon, and just how are they to get out of it? Are both wizards aware that time is repeating itself, or just one of them? And just what is it about this one day that it just refuses to end?

-The period of time should be less than 24 hours but probably longer than 5 or so

-Only Snape or Harry must be aware that time is repeating, though both is still an option
--Alternatively, another person may also be aware of this instant replay

-Bonuses for comical hi-jinks and multiple chapters

Summary: Why does Snape have a brightly-colored child's xylophone hidden away in his desk? Is it new? Old? Broken? What is it doing there, and how did Harry discover it?

Summary: The ground itself was shaking - but was it an earthquake, or something of magical origin?

Summary: Were the flowers affecting everyone this way or only him?
