Note on It's Mutual: I have temporarily taken it down on Potions and Snitches until I have gotten further in the re-writing. Otherwise, a few chapters were just going to sit on here for awhile and it bothers me. The un-edited version is on ff.net.

Summary: Harry has to stay with Snape for the summer, disguised, at Spinner's End (cannon Snape's house). It has to be the summer after Harry's 5th year at Hogwarts, and it must include some interactions with Death Eaters at the house!

Summary: An answer to this challenge must include the conversation below or some varation to it (tweek it and twist it to your own needs), but other than that, you're free to do as you please.

"He was socially deprived for ten years of his life, a time when it is necessary to have contact with people in order to correctly develop, mentally and emotionally. He doesn't understand the concept of trusting adults or the need to be respectful if there are no negative consequences, so he won't simply take the word of someone. During his entire life before Hogwarts, he was lied to about everything by those who he should have trusted; he won't follow orders of someone he think dislikes him simply because he has every reason to believe they are lying," she said, continuing to take notes.

"And then," Snape said, annoyed, "how am I to get him to listen, if you refuse to let me punish him?"

"Talk with him. Sit him down and explain social rules to him, if you must: table manners, how to speak to elders, what they are, and why they are. Most likely, he won't see them as necessary and he might even claim them to be superficial. His aunt and uncle were polite to everyone outside the house, but once away from the public view, they were nasty, heartless people."

"Right," snapped Severus, even more mortified than he was moments before.

"Perhaps even explain normal wizarding customs. Things that you've taken no notice of because your mother was a witch, but things he never would have thought to ask: Marriage customs, the lives of typical wizarding children, whatever."

Severus didn't answer or look up. After moments of silence, he stood up and left, leaving her alone.

Summary: Harry's father had vampire genes that never became dominant, but they were passed down to Harry and nearing Harry's birthday, the vampire in Harry begins to mature. Now, it is common knowledge that most vampires don't need human blood to survive, but a few 'breeds' -- including Harry's -- needs something to survive that is found only in the blood of a human. Unfortunately, the only adult(s) around -- Severus Snape and maybe Remus and/or Sirius -- don't realize it for much too long . . . they've only been giving Harry animal blood.

Summary: For some reason, unbeknownst to anyone (at least to the readers!), Harry and the Dursleys are living in 1972! Harry starts Hogwarts in this time as a third year, but didn't attend Hogwarts during 1970 and 1971 (he was attending Hogwarts for his 1st and 2nd years in 1991 and 1992, like any normal wizard who was born in 1980 would do).

Here are some options you can choose from (but this is not an all conclusive list. Creativity should ensue):

- Harry knows that he's in the wrong time or he doesn't, Harry becomes friends with Snape or his James Potter's friends -- or both, I suppose --, explain a reason they're there, or leave it a mystery, or have Harry remember nothing aside from him living with the Dursley's his entire life.
