Series Summary: Dark secrets and an even darker past threaten to destroy the boy on whom the entire wizarding world has pinned their hopes. Can Severus Snape find it within him to heal and accept the broken child of his nemesis, and in the process, ultimately heal and accept himself? (AU-ish w/ OC, but follows canon. Severitus - mentor/adoption - mentions sexual abuse, but no details - NO SLASH!)
Comments: Read first work, haven't started second. Second is almost certainly abandoned so may or may not want to read.
Snape saves Harry from being sexually assaulted by dudley and his friends, Harry rescues Gillian from being hit by a car, and then Snape discovers that she and her mom Lily are witches but didn't know because Lily never got her letter due to being raised in an orphanage.
Bella nearly kills Snape with crucio and sets his house on fire but he tries to go back in knowing Harry and the girls are hidden in his lab. They escape, Snape ends up in a coma and Harry is sent back to the Dursleys because Albus isn't aware of just how bad the situation there is. Snape wakes from his coma just in time to get to the Dursleys to fight off Vernon, but is in very bad shape by the time he tries to stop Dudley, who nearly kills him before members of the order arrive and stop him. They also see what Dudley was about to do to Harry and Albus feels sick with himself.
Narcissa and Draco are on their side and warned Albus about Draco's task.
Series Summary: When he came to Hogwarts, Harry was sorted into Slytherin: he had no idea how much this would affect the connections he'd make, or the friendships he would foster. Follow Harry through his Hogwarts career, avoiding goblin plots, murderous fanclubs and even Lord Voldemort himself. No Horcruxes, no Riddle diary, no Lord Potter, no creature inheritance, etc. Canon divergent; first year's is similar to the canon, and after that, every year is quite different to the original.
