Rather than allowing Harry to stay at Diagon Alley after he blew up Aunt Marge, the Ministry sends Harry back to the Dursleys. Harry returns to school after a terrible summer, to find that he's not the only one with this kind of secret. A student has been killed by his family. New screening measures are put into place by the Ministry: Every student must be given a medical exam and interview to look for child abuse. With Dumbledore facing an inquiry, Snape is entrusted with the task of making sure EVERYONE receives one.

- Wow, what a ride. I loved this story so much I had to create a profile just so I could review it! I don’t want to spoil anything for anyone else ... So let me just say that where one say that character appear out of character there is an excellent device to explain why that is, but it’s not so OOC that you don’t recognize the character.
I liked that you were critical of Dumbles machinations without bashing the character.
Well done handling sensitive subjects, however now I have to buy a new box of tissues **sniff**
Definitely will be worth a 2nd read though.
Harry doesn’t think living in the orphanage is that bad, but he’s tired of being picked on for having no one that wants him. When someone sends word they want to adopt a young wizard, Harry leaves the orphanage to go to his new home. The problem is, there’s been a mistake. Severus Snape would never have requested to adopt Harry Potter, and now that he’s there, he doesn’t want to keep him.

- This story has so many great things in it. Awesome Friend Ron and reasonable Snape being the top of the list. I especially liked the subtle comment about how Snape treats him in public, meaning Mean!Snape is all an act. Loved it!
