- This story, particularly this latest chapter (six) is what JKR should have given us throughout Deathly Hallows. Severus and Harry had one of the most fleshed out and defined relationships in the series and deserved better than her concentration on johnny-come-lately plotlines and cardboard characters being front and center. Thank you for this, I can't wait to see where you go with it.

Thank you; I'm flattered that you think so highly of my work! I had some of the same criticisms when I read Deathly Hallows, and I reckon I may have been subconsciously compensating for them as I wrote this.

Summer after fourth year is finally over, and things are not as expected when Harry makes it back to the magical world. Badly broken and determined for it to stop, Harry turns to, surprisingly, a certain Potions Master, who in turn finds within himself, of all places, a heart still beating and waiting to love, and be loved in turn.

- Ooh, I like you're HP world a lot! Fudge isn't a useless waste, Snape is shown to have a heart for more than one or two people, and Hermione, though her usual brilliant self, isn't the perfect little know-it-all most people try to portray her as. Was he a little hard onher? Yes, but in the context of all he's been through the last few days and is having to deal with all these gooey feel good emotions all of a sudden, I think we can forgive him for it. I can't wait to see what's coming next, keep it up, this fic is excellent!

- Crazy, I gotta tell ya, if I had been alone when reading this, I'd have been rolling on the floor in tears. As it is I think I pulled something trying not to laugh (my parents already think I'm loopy, why add to the evidence). Very well written, I felt you stayed very close to in character for all, a little exaggeration about certain aspects of their personalities is to be expected (and enormously enjoyed) after all. Snape's fear of Hermione as well as Draco's was one of my favorite parts, but Harry's well-founded fear of Hermione was genius. I've always felt that Harry (and Ron if I have to include him) were a tiny bit afraid of Hermione and it was perfectly expressed here. Well done, and I can't wait to read more of your work.

Author's Response: Thanks! ::blushing:: This one flowed really well. I don't normall write quite so much humor! I do try to stay in-character--even though everybody's view of each character is just that tiny bit different from anybody else's. And yeah, with humor, exaggeration is definitely a part of it! And if Harry and Ron *aren't* just a tad afraid of Hermione in a true temper, with as well as they know her...well!
