About me:

Caramello was the name that a kid from my first grade class called me, as my real name is pronounced Kara (not Kira) and is just spelled differently. No one has called me that since, but I have a fondness for the candybar regardless :)

There's not much to say about me other than I clearly love reading these stories. I tend to lean towards child-stories or stories where Snape adopts Harry. Biological father is cool too, but it's always irriated me (I'm not sure when) when Harry has glamour charms removed. I inevitiably still think of him as looking like I always pictured him to. Any and all story suggestions are welcome my way - I'm always searching for something new that I can read and love while waiting for the next chapter in other well-loved series.

I used to write a lot, but haven't written so much in the last few years, and nothing that is able to be posted on this site - however, I love the editing process as well, and I'm one of Aspeninthesunlight's beta's, and I'm willing to look over anything anyone would like me to. I do have a tendency to speak my mind and pick through stories pretty thoroughly, so if you tend to be sensitive about constructive criticism, I might not be your ideal beta.

What? Making us wait 2 - possibly 3 - days? How dare you even consider such a thing! ;) Totally joking. You update more quickly than anyone else I've even known before - and two stories similtaneously at that!

Interesting that Harry had a relapse - completely realistic. How long was he in that state for? I like the way you describe him becoming shut off like that with just a mere thought. It's so realistic, especially when you compare it to something such as a panic attack. A single thought can set it off and you just have to wait until the hyperventilating stops before you can move on. And it won't stop until it good and well feels like it (trust me, I know, lol). I assume it's just as terrifying for Harry.

    Good work!

Author's Response: Hi Kiera, thanks for the review!  Harry was in a dissociative state for about 30 minutes.  It's not a hugely long time for these sorts of things, though considerable.  And of course, for Harry, it's an excruciatingly long time to be stuck in a horrible memory.

When Harry says that Snape saved him from Remus-the-werewolf, are you talking about after he, Hermione, and Sirius collapsed at the lake, or the movie? Just curious.

I really liked this chapter. I knew Harry would start actually making good use of his journal, even if he doesn't think he is. Before long he'll be getting it all out, I'm sure, lol. Interesting way Snape has of timing Harry's broom riding privilages. Only 20 minutes, or as long as he writes in the journal... man, what a slave driver ;)

Outta curiousity - would your Snape have treated Harry differently had he been Slytherin? Canon wise I can't see it (from what we know post DH interviews), but it's always fun to see it from a fanfic POV.

You know, honestly?  I don't know.  I may have been thinking of the movie.  It's all a blur, to me.  :-)

My Snape would have treated Harry differently, if he'd been in Slytherin, yes.  Not at first, probably, but if, by watching him develop as a member of his House, he saw what qualities the boy actually possessed, as opposed to the ones Snape ascribed to him by virtue of looking too like James, he would have come to treat him at least as well as he did other Slytherins.  Thanks for the review!

That was a pretty good fit he had! I liked it; it was pretty intense. I like that Severus is making up that list too, lol. That cracks me up. I'd never get through an hour without saying Dunno, or Kinda, or any "faux compound words that end with a." I'm glad they got over the first hurdle of Harry's 'freak/punching bag/house-elf' days. Good to see him being forced to work through some issues. I wonder if he'll be getting another journal. He seemed to be doing a lot better with that.

Author's Response: There'll be journalling in the next chapter, never fear.  :-)  Thanks for the review!

I just have to say THANK YOU for saving this moment until chapter 22. So many people throw it into the first chapter or two of their stories and it infuriates me so much. Lol. But yours is highly realistic in the scheme of things. In any case, I'm anxious for Harry's reaction to it, lol. His so volitile lately, it should be interesting, lol. I also loved that Harry was writing 'I don't care' over and over in his journal. After three hours, though, I'd get way bored of that. Lol.

*Shakes Harry* I just want him to SEE what he's missing. The whole picture is RIGHT THERE and he can't see past the immediate present. Gah. Lol. You're really good at getting us all riled up. I like that there doesn't hardly ever seem to be a moment of peace, though I do think it'd be nice to see Harry smile and laugh and even perk up just a little. I can't wait for the day he does. Lol.

Chocolate Frosted Sugar Bombs. I want one of those bad. I don't know what it is, but I want one. It sounds like a really really good chocolate chewy mint you find at weddings. Lol.

Harry finally agreed! Even after everything Snape has done. Good for him! I do have to admit, Snape made it sound more like he was going to be becoming Harry's guardian in order to turor him more-so than not, but I know it wasn't meant that way. Snape has a funny way of communicating his feelings and thoughts at times. Lol. He's a good guy. Really deep down ;)

Can't wait for more! I know it's coming! It's bursting to get out of you!

It sure does count as food!

Very very interesting. I'm ultra curious about what Snape saw, or if he truly saw anything at all. I hope they hunt down those Dursleys and give them what for, as Uncle Vernon might say. Vernon deserves a taste of his own stinkin' medicine. Same with all those Death Eaters... just not as... uh... Yeah. Leaving out a few details, perhaps. Yeah. Lol.

Beautiful :D It was a different kind of chapter and I liked it! I'm glad he finally confronted Remus, though I do hope he comes to trust and forgive him in time. Poor kid. His trust has been messed with one too many times, and though I know Remus doesn't know what he did wrong, or rather that he didn't do anything wrong, it's heartbreaking all the same.

And, I must say, that this has been the sunshine on MY rainy day. It's been storming here the last two days (something it very very very very very rarely does in Utah) and this is a right little ray of sunshine, so thank you :D

Very interesting chapter. It unfortunate that I tend to find myself having to feel bad about... or even angry with Lupin in some of this fandoms stories, but when it's put into such a light, it only makes sense. Of course, I still personally love Lupin to death, but that's off the point, lol. I really liked this chapter - I liked that Severus didn't lose it with Harry and that Harry was able to not be berated too much for his lack of respect towards others.

I'm waiting patiently for another chapter, so I hope it comes soon :D

I have to tell you -- I was eating my dinner while reading this, and whilst reading his journal entry, I started to laugh and dropped my plate on the floor. My poor dinner... But it's okay, I got more :)

And no, I did NOT see that coming, lol. Very very very interesting though. I really hope Harry doesn't relapse into a subconscious/unconscious state again. That would suck. For everyone involved, lol. But for he and Snape particularly.

Can't wait for the update :D
