It took me a bit to get used to the present tense in your writing since it's not the most common, but you keep it consistent, and it really works well. Good job! I also had to comment that I loved this part: "The boy's head jerks up from over his cauldron, and his eyes meet Snape's, wary and a little fearful. Despite the fact that the first sixth year Potions class of the term is nearly over and no one in it has provided Snape a single excuse to take points from Gryffindor, the boy's look is enough to fill him with a warm, satisfied glow." Hehe! I love that - fearful student eyes being Snape's key to happiness! Right on! Author's Response: THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY. Because I love "O Mine Enemy" so very very much, any approval from you is immensely valued.
And I'm glad you liked that line, I keep putting things into the story that make me laugh and I have to wonder if I have the world's strangest sense of humor or if anyone else is laughing with me...:)
Poor Harry, dealing with a promise-breaking Snape. Now mind, I understand why he called the headmaster, but I'm so mad at him for promising he wouldn't when he knew all along he would! Bad Snape! Bad Snape!
Anyway, I really loved this chapter - everyone was so great. I loved how gentle, yet furious Dumbledore was at the same time. And how snape-like Snape was, though you could see his concern. Well done!
I do hope Harry is okay...but seeing as how there's a sequel... :)
I am compelled to convey my appreciation of your story and to relate that your compendious prose has convinced me of your exceptional proficiency in the art of storytelling. :) So therefore, I am sharing with you...CHOCOLATE! By the pound! For YOU!!!! Because I LOVE that reviews are like chocolate, don't you?!?! :) :) Good chapter - I loved the letter! It was so incredibly great how Snape could be so clever and insulting and caring and insufferably smart all at once. :) I can't wait to see what Harry comes up with... (Dare i admit that I stole a glance at the next story already? But I haven't read more than the first couple paragraphs because I forced myself to come back and finish this last chapter first, even though I desperately want to know what happens!) So here I go... :) Author's Response: *huge idiotic grin*
You absolutely make my day, you know that? Harry is 7 years old and treated literally like a dog by the Dursleys. Will he be rescued by the wizarding world? Will he ever be fit to take on the mantle of The Boy Who Lived? Now Complete!
