I believe I read this last night and forgot to review. Anyway, I loved this chapter. And I adore Snape for caring enough to actually destroy all of the belts he owns. Hopefully this is a big step for Harry. Will he speak again soon?

    Author's Response:

I'm not sure if "soon" would be the right word.  Harry's got his reasons for not talking, even if he doesn't understand what they are right now.  But he will talk again.  It's coming eventually!

    Thanks for the review!

"Slowly. . .slowly. . . he reached a hand out -- just his thumb really -- to stroke the back of Harry's hand. He hoped the gesture would soften his next words. There was a time for reassurance, but he would not coddle the boy. It would aid neither of them."

**I loved the description of that gesture. So subtle, yet incredibly sweet.

Severus giving Harry a bedtime just...well...made me feel extremely cuddly. I'll admit it. lol. I love it when Snape acts fatherly. *sigh*

    A good chapter!

Author's Response: Hee, it made me feel all cuddly too!  And I'm glad you liked that particular bit, it was one of my favourites too.

I love your style of writing. It's so...effortless (if that makes sense), and your pacing of this story is perfect.

Accidental magic, huh? I think Snape should take that as a sign that the poor boy is making himself sick with tension--although I think Snape already knows it. I doubt that Harry is in real trouble. However, I'm sure that he's thinking differently.

    These lines were particularly great:

He watched as Snape read the words and then run his fingers through the long greasy locks. He closed his eyes and whispered into his palms “It’s true. We have all failed you.”

**The use of the word "we" just made me want to attack Severus with a running hug... lol.

I loved this chapter. Keep up the great writing :)

    Author's Response:

Heh, I only *wish* it was effortless.  The number of times I've tried to figure out at least a basic timeline only to have the boys ignore my wishes is crazy.  Because then I have to rethink my outline, lol.  And this time I found some pretty clunky bits that I had to go back and edit after it was posted.

But I'm glad it *seems* effortless.  That's a huge compliment!  You're very good at picking up what Harry's going through.  He was sick with (from?) tension.  It was hard to get that across though, because this chapter was from his POV, and an 11 year old boy isn't particularly self aware.

Thankfully he has Severus to be aware for him ;)

A beautiful chapter. I love the subtle tenderness you've created between Harry and Severus. Well done!

Author's Response: Thank you!  I try not to rush them, but it's tough!

This was beautiful. Your style of writing is so unique. For some reason, it's really soothing to read new chapters of your story. Can't explain it, really, but I promise that's a compliment :)

I love how this story has progressed. I also appreciate the fact that you write Harry as an eleven year old who needs comfort and reassurance. He's young, and sometimes, I think we forget how normal it is for eleven year olds to be extremely upset one moment and happy and bouncy the next. In that aspect, you write Harry very accurately.

Also, you seem to really have a good grasp on Ron's character, which, I think, is difficult to do (Speaking from experience...lol).

Bottom line: your Harry is the sweetest thing ever, and I adore this story :) Write soon!

    Author's Response:

Thank you so much :)  I definitely take soothing as a compliment!

As for how I write Harry, although it was many, many years ago now, I remember being his age and having the same issues he's having, so that helps.  Plus I have an 11 year old niece and nephew who I tend to watch closely, to see how they act, the things they say, etc.

As for Ron, I have struggled to keep him in-character but still likeable.  Based on canon, Ron definitely would struggle with the relationship I've built between Snape and Harry.  But he's also Harry's best friend for a reason, and I think he'd be able to understand eventually (with a little help from Arthur!).

    Thanks for the review!

Excellent! I'm so happy you updated :)

I love the relationship between Worty and Harry. Hopefully with Harry's help, he won't turn into a mini-Draco...haha. Although, I actually really like Draco in your stories.

Great chapter! I look forward to more :)

You're back!!! This was a REALLY great chapter! I love your writing style. As a reader, it's addicting. I also like how Snape has kept his sarcastic, stern personality even though he and Harry have become close. The scene in DADA class was great, as well as Snape and Harry's conversation about girls. Hilarious.

Thanks for taking the time out to treat us to another wonderful chapter even though you are so busy with Grad school :) I seriously can't wait for more!!

I wrote you a long review, and when I went to click "submit", a fatal error occurred and it didn't work. I could have thrown the computer out the window. Anyway...I'll retype it:

First of all, I just knew you'd update. Thanks for continuing your awesome stories even though Grad school is kicking your butt. lol.

And second of all, Harry is so dead. I'm only too sure that after Harry pummels Draco, Snape will pummel Harry. I would be a bit irritated with someone like Draco trailing me throughout Hogwarts. He's a bit like the wizard version of the Artful Dodger.

My favorite line of the story came from Hermione this time, believe it or not:

"Good, you should be confused," Hermione told him. "Normally, I would give you the silent treatment for a week for hiding something this big, and Ron for two days."

**The fact that she already had the number of days planned out for a potential silent-treatment had me laughing. A lot.

I'm really looking forward to the next chapter. Thanks so much for the update! I love this story. I love all of your stories, really.

Oh...oh no...Snape can't really blame him for that, can he? He was summoned by a professor after all. Great chapter! I'm glad Snape didn't freak out on Harry abou the whole Draco thing. I thought he was in for it, but this worked out even better.

Good luck with teaching your class, and hopefully you can update again soon!
