    By the way, the part where Snape gave his memory of James to Harry was lovely. It made me tear up.

    I'm actually speechless. I was struck dumb when I saw you had updated, and now after reading, I'm completely stunned. Do you know how brilliant this is? I can hardly pick out my favorite scenes, because the entire chapter was so good. You describe things in a unique way that I've never seen done before. For example, when you described the secrets swirling around in the penseive like dogs. That was perfect. How do you come up with this stuff?!

    Your Snape is also perfect. I really wasn't expecting the slap, but that is SO like something Snape would have done. You've just really pegged his character--the darker side that we like to deny even existed. He wasn't a good man, and your story highlights that; however, Snape has these tiny moments of compassion that give us hope. The very end of this chapter was breathtaking.

    Oh, and I definitely teared up during the scene where little Harry was sitting on his aunt and uncle's bed with the gun. I've never read a scene like that before. It made my stomach twist into knots.

    I just don't know what else to say--this is spectacular. Thank you so much for updating. Write again when you are able! :)

    I found the scene involving the photograph of Lily's parents to be painfully poignant and brilliantly written. You seem to really have a grasp on Snape's character--and Harry's as well. Emotions seem to be your thing, and you tackle them with a realistic edge. You make us feel Harry's confusion and Snape's inner turmoil. You really do Severus' progression justice. This story is still one of my all-time favorites, and I love it more with each chapter. Thanks for sharing your talent with us :-)

    Good, interesting start! I can tell this is a story I would enjoy reading. One thing I would suggest: if you are going to continue the "back and forth" theme between Harry and Snape, I would think about changing up the style a bit in future chapters, just so it doesn't become repetitive and predictable. Other than that, nice beginning :)

    Author's Response: Actually the repetitive theme is a big part of how I wrote it...sorry! I was experimenting with new ways of writing and this is how the story turned out. :) I hope that you enjoy reading it anyway. Thank you for reviewing. :)

    I reviewed this chapter over at ff.net, but I usually read the stories at this site instead and thought I'd give one here as well now that it's back up and running...lol. I'm anxious to see what's going to happen to them; although, I'm sure it will probably be Draco doing something stupid and Harry attempting to rescue him--getting himself into trouble as well.

    Anyway, I'm glad I was able to read the newest chapter. When I couldn't get on this morning, I thought...Great...now I'll actually have to work or something. lol.

    Two stories at once...you are quite amazing. lol. I love this story just as much as Shadows. And dear lord....there's nothing I like better than some Harry/Draco interaction. Will they be civil to each other, I wonder?
