About me:

I've been reading fanfiction for years, and I've written a few pieces in other fandoms, as well as some drabbles and ficlets for the HP fandom, but mostly I have been a reader. For the Boy Who Has Everything is my first attempt at a full-length fic. Three Times Trouble is a response to my sudden inexplicable enjoyment of kidfic.

My favorite characters are Remus Lupin, Severus Snape, Sirius Black, Neville Longbottom, and the elder two Weasley children, Bill and Charlie (whom we just don't see enough of, unfortunately). Many of the younger characters became more interesting to me as they grew older.

I like to theorize about how things work, especially things that aren't well explained in the books. Such as:

- How and why does a Patronus take the shape it does, when a wizard first learns the spell? How would a Patronus change its shape (e.g.; Tonks' and Snape's)? Does it take the shape of the other person's Patronus, or just a shape that the first person associates with them? If the other person is still alive, does that mean that now there are two identical Patronuses?

- Since some wands are specifically good for certain types of magic, does that mean wands choose their owner based on an inborn talent or potential?

- If people have minds, souls, and magic, how distinct are the three things? A piece of soul seems to possess both a mind and magic, although it isn't clear how much of each comes from the actual soul fragment and how much is purposely spelled into the object that contains the soul fragment. The horcruxes that reacted poorly to being messed with (e.g.: diary, locket) were most likely spelled to do that. However, the horcrux in Harry managed to impart magical skills, suggesting there may be some magic within the soul itself.

- What makes some magic stick around for centuries and not lose power, while other magic wears off over time, or ends abruptly when the spell-caster dies?

At the welcoming feast Poppy notices that eleven-year-old Harry is wearing glamours, Severus looks after Harry during the first year, and together they decide to go on a time travel – will they be able to change something? AU, partly OOC.

Good beginning. This sounds like it will be a good story. I can't wait to find out what was under the glamour.

    A couple of typos:

"So why could a child" (would, not could)

"and when you loose points" (lose, not loose)

Author's Response: Thanks for the corrections - English is really difficult!

Severitus challenge response. On Harry's 15th birthday, a surprising truth is revealed. Now he and Snape must deal with its consequences.

Oooh, a lovely new Snape-is-Harry's-Dad story!!! I love these. :-)

In all seriousness, this truly is a great start, and I'm looking forward to the next chapter, when hopefully more will be revealed and explained.

I wonder why there was no letter for Sirius (as she couldn't have known whether he would still be around or not), seeing how he is perhaps the most likely to need to be reminded not to do anything rash.

Wow, for once Harry leaves the Dursleys with no trouble. :-D

I guess Harry better have all the fun he can, now, because it's about to end! Poor thing, so clueless about what's coming.

    Excellent chapter.

Ooh, you're really torturing me. I want that letter read! :-D

Soon after rescuing 7-year-old Harry from the abusive Dursleys, Severus Snape starts his teaching career at Hogwarts. Harry finds even more ways to surprise his father, the Headmaster, and a school full of students. Snape'll have his hands full, raising and protecting his son.

See, this is why Snape should have ground Filch up into potions ingredients before.

I wonder what it'll be like for Harry to be at the castle with so many students. I doubt ALL of them will like him.

I'm really glad you decided to continue Whelp, which was so excellent.

AU Book I. Instead of there being a Harry Potter, there is an Arielle Potter, the girl-who-lived. Her life was totally changed when instead of Hagrid being the one that came for her to that hut on the rock, it was Severus Snape. The storyline is not what you expect. Arielle actually has a personality of her own. XD

I'm really enjoying this story. She's adorable... and a nice change from 1st year Harry.

A drabble (a fic that is 100 words). Snape suspects a terrible fate.

    Very cute!

Poor Snape though. You KNOW he would just hate something like that. I wonder how he'll get back at that evil Potter brat...!

    Author's Response:

Hmm, someone else could write that drabble.  That sounds interesting…a round robin drabble.

    Glad you liked it!

Harry's life is turned around and upside down when a late night visitor from the future tells him the unthinkable. Now he must convince Snape to teach him Occlumency, get along with Draco Malfoy and survive through what Voldemort has planned for him.

I'm sorry that you're feeling attacked by people who don't like where you're going with your story. That can be really disheartening. I think that people who are not writers don't understand why writers feel the need to write certain things into their stories. You can't make everyone happy. Sometimes you can't make *anyone* happy. Except yourself. That's why you write, isn't it? No one should write to please others above themselves, because that's the surest way to lose interest in a story and give up. Write what pleases you, and if it pleases someone else, well, consider that awesome. If not, at least YOU will still have a great story.

I see absolutely nothing wrong with your story or plot so far. You are NOT torturing Harry. This is a very tame fic of its type (Harry dealing with his destiny, etc.), in terms of angst and emotional torture. There is frustration, yes, but he is not being tormented by the tasks set to him. In fact, so far he is practically blithely sailing along. He isn't spending sleepless nights being tormented by horror shows of what will happen if he fails. And he hasn't given up; he still thinks it's possible to change the future... in fact he is determined to change it. I don't see how that's Harry-torture at all. Okay, so he's been set some hard tasks. Yes. Well, what about canon? Seemed pretty heavy stuff to me. Harry's always facing impossible odds, so that is nothing to whine about. Besides, how fun would a story be if his future self's only advice was "Eat more carrots. Harry, it'll help your eyesight. By the time you're my age you'll hardly need glasses at all."? His future self would hardly have come to warn him if the situation was not dire.

Anyhow, you have a fine plot and don't let people dictate what you write. The only criticism you should take to heart is spelling/grammar, because that is something you have control over. Whether readers like or agree with your chosen plot is not in your control. How often you update is also not in your control, since real life should be a higher priority. Don't worry about losing readers -- they have a right to dislike your story and leave. Just as many will like it and stay.

    Take care.

    Author's Response:

This review was very inspiring and uplifting Fw, thank you for taking the time to write it! I get really fed up with some people. I almost want to scream, "It's my story and I'll torture him all I want and there's nothing you can do about it!!" But that probably would not be receved really well, lol. It is supposed to be an angst fic, his future life is SO bad that he risks it all to come back and change it. That's not somthing small. I'm very happy that you seem to know where I'm coming from and that you don't think I'm a 'Harry torturer', lol. Thank you Fw, :)

A near tragedy and a shocking discovery lead two bitter enemies to much soul searching and eventual acceptance of each other. Much angst along the way though. Some Ginny and Harry.

Great chapter. Figures Harry would do something incredibly dumb... that boy just doesn't *think*!

    Author's Response:

Teenager...boy...these things are often not synonymous with thinking. It's not just HArry.

    Glad you enjoyed the chapter.
