Slytherin!
After Harry is caught for exploding a cauldron in 2nd year Potions, Snape insists he keep a firm hand on the boy he must secretly protect. However, he discoveres that there is more to the twelve year old than unruliness and disrespect. Similarly, Harry learns from and gains a new perspective of his professor.

- Excellent chapter!
I loved Severus tucking Harry in. That entire scene was incredibly well done.
Sorry, I haven't reviewed the last couple of chapters, alot of stuff has been going on and I haven't had the chance. :(
I love this story and I'm going to be sorry to see it end, but I'm sure you'll do a great job ending it.

I horrible at calculations and I believe I'm still about three chapters from end, not including an epilogue...so yes, I suppose I'm nearly finished, but not as early as I thought I might be. - Yay! Another chapter!
Wonderful as always and I almost wanted to cry when Snape said a simple 'I know' at the end. I know its not going to happen (because your to good a writer to let your characters be so out of character) but I really wanted Severus to pull Harry into a hug and lots of other fluff. *sigh*
Wow I have no idea where all that mush just came from.

Author's Response: I think the only way I'm able to keep from giving everyone an overdose of Snape fluff is because I obtain all of my warm fuzzies from writing Starting From Scratch. lol. I can easily allow Sirius and Harry to show their affection for one another in that story...although I do try to keep from sugar-coating every single word. I suppose my stories balance each other out ;) It's so good to hear from you again...you have no idea. Thanks so much for the review!

I love this story.
The scene in Snape's office was amazing! The little detail (the finger tips, the shoes..etc) made the entire scene so vivid. I loved it.

- Sorry it took me so long to review this chapter. I've been really busy with work and school. Its almost over (thank god) at least for the summer.
Anyway, great chapter. I loved the last sentence. So many emotions were conveyed or at least unveiled during this chapter that the entire 'hiatus' regaurdless of how small, is very important. I think so at least (I could be wrong especially since the story isn't over). This chapter seems to be a turning point. Severus actions, the small ones, like his hestitancy with some words or his expressions say so much about how he's warmed-up to Harry. And Harry's entire little...tantrum (from the last chapter) shows the readers so clearly what he doesn't even notice.
Wonderful chapter and I can almost see this story coming to an end now. (Not that I want it to). But it seems to be coming full circle. I can see an end in sight and I'm both excited and sad.

No prob. :) I totally understand about being busy. My last semester of college kicked my butt last Spring, and it was a total relief to make it to summer vacation. So hang in there!
I appreciate that you took the time to read and review my latest chapter. This was definitely an emotional chapter, but I feel it was definitely necessary for Harry to understand that adults (especially Snape in this story) just don't restrict and punish him for no reason. It's difficult to understand that at twelve, and that's why Snape brought up Harry's parents. You're right about this chapter being a turning point, even though there are only two more chapters left. Well three, I guess, if you include the Ep. ;)
I'm actually planning a sequel that will begin during the summer before Harry's third year. So although this particular story is coming to a close, there will be a new one beginning. But not until *my* summer, I'm afraid, as I really want to try to get some more chapters written of my other story. You know...and get some RL stuff done. LOL.
I promise to work as hard as I can to crank out a new chapter soon :) Thanks for the review, Tiffany!

- I loved this chapter. I say this every time I know, but I'm still amazed at the detail you put into a chapter without over doing it.
I loved the scene at the table where a mere look or simple gesture from Snape can have Harry sitting up straight or eating a balanced breakfast. Adorable.

After the Dobby incident at the beginning of the second book, Harry runs away, and Snape kidnaps him. In an old-fashioned house with no comforts and a huge black dog, Harry finds himself at Snape's mercy as Snape plays mind games and makes Harry live through different scenarios. Though Snape seems crazy and psychotic, Harry begins to see reasons behind Snape's sporadic behavior.
There is corporal punishment, but it is different from what I've written before. This is a Mean!Snape story for the most part. If you're looking for a cuddly story, go elsewhere please.

- Hi! I love this story just as much if not more then 'A Time and Place to Grow.' However, I did notice a little inconsistancy. In the first chapter when Harry arrived Snape gave him a bath with warm water in an upstairs bathroom, but he didn't have to go outside pump the water then heat it, like Harry has to do in order to do the dishes. I'm not a plumber or anything so I don't know for sure, but if the upstairs bathroom has running warm water shouldn't the kitchen as well? Of course, its possible I'm just jumping the gun and you plan on explaining this latter, but that was kind of bothering me. *shrugs* After all Snape is a wizard prehaps he charmed the bathroom or something.
Anyway, excellent chapter as always, I can't wait to see what happens when Harry runs away. The second I read about the tree that was close enough to the ground for him to climb I had this vision of Harry trying to run away but only making it to the tree.
Well, I'll stop rambling now and end with this is an excellent story and I hope you update soon.
