Rather than allowing Harry to stay at Diagon Alley after he blew up Aunt Marge, the Ministry sends Harry back to the Dursleys. Harry returns to school after a terrible summer, to find that he's not the only one with this kind of secret. A student has been killed by his family. New screening measures are put into place by the Ministry: Every student must be given a medical exam and interview to look for child abuse. With Dumbledore facing an inquiry, Snape is entrusted with the task of making sure EVERYONE receives one.

He would see this as a betrayal. I hope Lupin and Snape are going to have a good plan to deal with this situation.

Oh Severus... there is no way that Harry won't find out, especially with a friend like Hermione.

I think Severus needed Lily to haunt him this week for him to take the actions that he did. I hope Dumbledore thinks before he speaks when he is informed of what Severus and Remus just did or was Harry right and Dumbledore would be ok with it?

Responsible or nice are one in the same to Harry, and Snape can separate them if he must.If you grow up poor I think you just automatically appreciate everything more, I know I do.

In the summer before Harry's second year, it's discovered that Lily didn't die, but was instead held prisoner for several years.

Oh I think Lily knew exactly what she was doing! I think Harry should be made to get a bath before they leave, that way Lily will notice that Harry doesn't have any suitable clothing. What are they doing for money? Please update soon.

    Author's Response:

Ah, yes, a reader ahead of the story! Awesome! Everything you brought up will be addressed; some in the very next chapter. It's cool to see somebody paying so much attention to those little details. ;-)

Thank you so much for your comments! :D

I look forward to the explanations, and Harry and Severus having to share Lily.

Author's Response: Ah, yes, that should be interesting, I imagine. Thanks for the comments! :D

Following the death of Sirius, Harry isn't sure what to make of the sudden appearance of a six-year-old boy. The pair form a bond, unaware they're half-brothers, and Harry decides to take the boy to Hogwarts and hide him there. To aide the boy's education, Harry anonymously exchanges letters with Snape.

A story of a how a young boy becomes a father-figure to another while their own father is oblivious of their biological existence. But can sixteen-year-old Harry give what he himself has not gained? Can he go an entire year without being discovered? Just how far will Severus go to find the writer of those letters...Or are some things best left unknown?

I thought it was cute what Toby called Harry's patronus. I think I read that book to my son when he was little did James Harriot write that? I am glad to see the Snape is starting to notice something good about Harry instead of it always being trouble. When do you think Harry will get suspicious about his own paternity and maybe when they both will find out? It's not like they haven't brewed potions without Snape's supervision before and Toby seems to like brewing with Hermione's help I am sure they could pull it off?

Author's Response: Thanks. Which book are you refering to? I am not familiar with James Harriot, either, so no.
"Good" is probably not the phrase Snape would use, but yeah he is. As for Harry's own paternity, not for a while. The possibility hasn't even crossed his mind and with eerything he has been told he as zero reason to believe that James isn't his father. That will change later, however I am not 100% exactly when yet. Toby so far doesn't know what he thinks of the actual brewing process, although it is likely he will enjoy it. Even with Hermione's help, Harry isn't ready to let Toby take that step in his education just yet. That and he's a little too protective of the younger boy right now and any risk with the child is one he'd rather not take.
    Thanks for your review!

oh wow with their help he might be able to pull this off, but I look forward to seeing how Harry is going to deal with meeting Snape is person to answer Toby's questions.

    Author's Response:

Yeah, hopefully. :P. And you're assuming that Harry can't find away around that? He's determined to not meet Snape in person for those questions, in fact he believes at everything counts on that. He's not going to give in that easily, especially not to Snape.

    Thanks for the review.
