About me:

I have been aquainted with fanfiction for quite some time and find that in these days after the release of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows, that it has become all the more prominant staple in my life.  I have yet to try to write any Harry, Severus fanfiction or any pretaining to Harry Potter characters in general but enjoy reading them immensly!  Thus, I find myself to be a reader and reviewer instead of a writer...

...Well, perhaps not now anymore...I finally started posting my pre-Hogwarts fic, "The Truth About Tomorrow."

Ok, so reading and reviewing is still a lot better than writing, I'm not terribly creative and in my fic you'll find some borrowed information from other fics that you've read.  It's never something major, but the reference and connection can be seen if you look really closely.  This information also is usually something that has been accepted as 'true' in the fic world.  But the main plot of the fic is still mine...if I ever do plot it out fully.  I should really do that some day..

Severus Snape was fully prepared to hate Lily Potter's son. That was, before, the Sorting Hat cast them into a nightmare. It was only the beginning of a world gone mad.

I'm really tired, so just a short review before I retire. Great chapter! I'm excited to see where this ends up. It's interesting the background that you've got going on, and I hope we get to see some more of it soon! Also, I love the interactions between Harry and Severus...perfect! Glad that Hermione's there as well, she's great!! Well, until next chapter!

In a story that spans two decades, Lily and Severus look for a way to control the powers of the Dark Mark after Lily's life is threatened by Eileen Prince. Seventeen years later, Harry realized he has no idea who he is. SS/LE H/G RL/NT

Thanks so much, OE! You're amazing!!

I really enjoyed this chapter as a whole with all of its ups and downs once again...you're exceptionally good at that! I'm still feeling everything with Sev and Harry, except for Sev's annoyance at Remus. I just can't get angry at him!

But that conversation was great! I like how Sev has sorta accepted their relationship while Remus is fine with exclaiming that they were all really worried about him, not just for Harry but for Sev himself too. Love that werewolf! And their quarreling over Harry not eating was decidedly like to mother hens! It was perfect and I seriously hope that they realize how similar they are in that respect, although I suspect they already do.

One question: was Draco not questioned and then expelled for being in on the attempts to remove Harry from Hogwarts? Or did Dumbledore just intervene?

To tell you the truth, I wasn't expecting the Daily Prophet to twist the news in that way...and I'm really mad about it...somebody squash that bug!

I'm really worried about Harry's return to the Tower and to class. He just doesn't seem to be able to even think about it...hopefully, though, Ron, Hermione, and Ginny will be able to spread the truth throughout the lies.

I don't really know how Sev is going to be able to assure Harry that he's not going anywhere either...and that worries me even more.

Yea for Poppy! (And Minerva too, I suppose, although she wasn't as understanding as Poppy...) I'm glad that she knows the art of manipulation and is good at misleading. (I do wonder what house she was in as a student..hmmm...)

I loved the conversation about Harry's name and can't wait to see it in use! Harry James Snape Potter, right?! *squeals in excitement*

I was a little curious as to why Harry gave in so easily and left the room without a fight to wash up...and then found out why. My heart broke, and it hurt...I just wish that Harry would stop telling half-truths to Sev, and perhaps figure out that he'll be more upset that Harry wasn't telling the truth in the first place than what that truth might have been...Harry seems to still underestimate Sev. And that's sad...come on, Harry! He loves you and he's not leaving! He might get angry sometimes, but it's going to be over you! He cares about your safety and your health!...so tell him the truth!! Ask him the questions you want answered and don't be offended if he withholds information that you're not ready to hear yet, that's him protecting you!! (Tell him I said that!)

Besides, if Harry would have asked some questions about Lily's Charm then Sev would have most likely told him and then Harry would know and thus we would know...something you just can't have. You simply enjoy us when we're withering in the dark of uncertainty...and suspicion. Be expecting some speculations from me on the Yahoo board!!

But, this was a really great chapter and the angst was delicious! Glad all that chocolate that was used to bribe you didn't go to waste either, because I was filled with warm fuzzies for quite a while...hmmm...

Good luck with the next chapter! Can't wait to read it (as I'm sure you guessed!)!

    Author's Response:

Oh, PK (that's your new nickname, by the way).  My heart sorta broke with your little admonishment to Harry.  Seriously, my tummy was all tensed up.  Poor kid.  He really does need to hear that.  You're funny though.  It wasn't really just about me being a sneaky sod about the charm.  Harry is really having issues.  I love your rant though.  It's so true and so sad.  But Harry did promise he wouldn't make his dad mad anymore.  Of course, he realizes lying is probably not the best way to go about that but he just doesn't want to fight and since neither does Sev, they really are gonna end up with a major blow-up one of these days if one of them doesn't give in.  LOL

I love Poppy, it's true.  Sev appreciates her too.  And he doesn't appreciate many people.  LOL

Two mother hens.  LOL  Glad you enjoyed that.  It was fun with Sev squirming and Remus just getting all comfy for a chat.  Hee hee.

Remember when Dumbles went into Lucius' mind and at the end of the DE meeting, the Aurors attacked and all of a sudden, a tall Auror knocked Lucius out?  Well, that was Shacklebolt  (remember when Albus was feeling bad in the infirmary and Shacklebolt shows up and says 'he's at home' or some such?).  Shacklebolt cursed Lucius and brought him home before he could be captured or killed.  So, yeah, Dumbles intervened.  And their were Order members questioning with Veritaserum as well and some memory modification going on with the captured DEs so Lucius name couldn't be revealed.  YEP.

Hmm...yes the Daily Prophet was disturbing...

Harry is not gonna go back to the Tower easily.

Harry's name issue is still undecided....

Glad you enjoyed all thte angst.  Keep the chocolate coming!

I'm really glad that there wern't any other updates today, and that I didn't have that much homework to put off...because this story is just brilliant! I'm currently trying to come up with my own way to make Severus Harry's father in a fic and have recieved so much inspiration! This story is really a work of art!

I can't wait for an update! Anyway, you're characterization is great! I love how easy-going and sometimes insecure Severus is around Lily, you can tell that he loves her. And Lily, she's such a headstrong, firey Griffindor! Love her! Harry's reactions are also right on, and I loved him dragging Ginny into the pensive back in chapter...2, 1? Yeah, it was great, whenever it happened!

I'm really liking the 'mystery' of it all too, with Severus' mother being a right foul git! It adds a certain spark of dread that underlines all their lives. It also works perfectly how you're working back and fourth from then and present time...well, 1996.

I really can't wait to see what you've got cooking up in the dungeons for these characters! I really do like the increased relationship between Remus and Harry and am looking foward to seeing what you've got planned for Draco (and why he's in such a bad mood)!! Well, until next chapter!

(Although I must congradulate you for taking over my concious thoughts for today as I foolishly decided to read some fanfiction bofore going to class today and couldn't concentrate on a thing! Well, it's homework time now!) Looking forward to chapter 10...whenever it comes, which is hopefully soon!!

    Author's Response:

Wow.  What an amazing review.  Thanks so much for the compliments!

I have been reading Severus and Harry stories for awhile now and finally got up the nerve to try one of my own.  It is so fun.  If you ever decide to give it a try, think of me for a beta.  I would love to help someone write a story!

Okay, let's see: I love writing about Severus/Lily.  I'm glad you like the way they are turning out.  And I loved that part too with Ginny going with Harry into the Pensieve.  It was fun.  I adore Ginny/Harry pairings so it was a must.

Thanks for the comment about the evil Eileen.  She is dreadful, isn't she?  I'm glad you liked the back and forth between time periods.  That was really to "set the stage" so we won't have more stand-alone Lily/Snape years for awhile (as I don't want to interrupt the flow right now as well) though we'll still see plenty of them, I think.

Don't worry, Draco is coming up next.  Glad you like Remus and Harry growing closer too.  I think that was seriously lacking in the Canon stories, you know?

Sorry that you couldn't concentrate but actually, I'm thrilled that you liked my story so much that you were distracted!  :)  The next chapter should be up tomorrow as it is just about finished.

Thanks for reviewing and sorry for the ramble, but what can I say, I love reviews!

I'm stuned. You have really done a good job of characterization. I was wondering what exactly Snape's reaction would be, but it wasn't that! But what you've done is perfect!! It's so Snape! (And I love Harry's comment about his temper!)

One thing that I noticed, though. McGonagall teaches Transfiguration, not Charms. Does she have any idea what's going on? And Draco, I'm dissapointed in that toe rag! What a jerk, that Slytherin!! Urgh! (I hope Harry hexes him in the next chapter!)

But wow! I can't wait to see into Severus' mind in the next chapter, he's going to be really confused trying to figure everything out while determining what he believes is true. Hopefully he does see that he IS Harry's father and totally A.K.s his mum is she's still alive. Man, she's mean! It would also be really good for Harry, obviously, if Severus accepts him...even if he's already been rejected. But, that's a good thing too, because it'll make Severus try REALLY hard to gain Harry's trust and thus prove to him that he wants to be his father. Although Voldie does prove difficult to deal with...hmmm. I bet you've got a great plot bunny to skirt around that one, though!

I'm also looking forward to some agnst from Harry, after his rejection. It's going to be hard on him and I hope that Ginny get's a bigger part in this...

Well, off to class! Keep writing!

    Author's Response:

Oh!  Thanks for the note about McGonagall.  I did that in the other chapter too but I changed it now.

I'm so glad you liked the way Snape sort of lost it at the end there and that you were pleasantly surprised by it.  It's nice to know I've got something spot on!

Draco is a git, isn't he?  But, we do have plans for him.

Next chapter is chock full of Sev's thoughts and it's entitled "Consequences" so it's gonna be fun.  I'm so glad you are looking forward to it so much.  And yeah, Eileen is a little *****, it's she?  :-)

Lots more Ginny too.  After all, Harry wouldn't be Harry without Ginny!  Love her. Thanks for the reveiw!

Wow, great chapter! I can't wait for the dreaded father-son meeting that's coming up next!! Angst Away!

I'm really glad that Severus did think of Harry before he went and A.K.ed his mother. She didn't deserve to die, but to suffer as he did for her schemes. (Wow, I'm scared of myself now!) But Severus really did handle himself well. I'm certainly glad that he's decided to try and be a father to Harry, if not just out of his love for Lily. But hopefully soon, he'll find that he never stopped loving that messy little kid, either.

I really liked how he reacted, both in 1981 and 1996. Your characterization is amazing and spot-on! I just love this Snape and all the agnst that he has to deal with. I'm also glad that Eileen is alive, for I wondered in chapters past if she had died...but now she wishes that she were dead I bet!

Keep writing! I just can't wait to see how Harry reacts to Severus coming back!! YAY!

    Author's Response:

Okay, I just had to laugh when you wrote, "but now she wishes that she were dead I bet".  Don't know why really except I think I scare myself too.  I just LOVED having Eileen tortured for what she had done.  Sick, aren't we?  :o)

So much angst coming up in the next chapter!  I just love how everyone loves angst  so much.  It's so fun to write.

Thanks so much for the compliments about the characterizations of Sev in the two time periods.  It was good to have the split chapter and so much fun.

Thanks for reviewing again.  The next chapter should be up before the weekend ends.  Enjoy.

I so love your style of writing, and this story is just brilliant!! I honestly can not wait for the next installment!

I must say that I thouroughly enjoyed all the agnst that occured here too, and it was quite the emotional rollar coaster! Hopefully, with the help of Hermione and Ginny (where would guys be without us girls?) Harry'll realize that he needs to talk to Severus, hopefully before their next potions class. I'm guessing that he will, however, since he knows that it was Severus who stayed with him in the Hospital Wing.

I really love how both those guys are so confused about what they want and expect from the other. It's truly heart wrenching to know that they both need someone but are convinced that the other can't and won't love them. I'm really glad that Severus realized that Harry's still the little boy that he spent so much time with and loved so deeply (I jumped up and down for awhile, clapping my hands together like a maniac, and am still a bit giddy!) hopefully he will be able to share some of those memories with Harry once they finally realize that the other wants to make a family.

I liked Remus' part in this whole ordeal and anxiously await his return. It was really smart to have Snape and Remus confront each other that way and then to have Severus show his 'weekness.' It was beautifully done and hopefully Remus can and will continue to be there for Harry until he gets this whole thing with Severus straightened out.

Dumbledore is a liar...I think. There's no way that he would have not known about Eileen!! ARGH! He's so frustrating, and WAY too cheerful. (Although in character, I think I would have punched him in his previously broken nose if I were Harry after Remus came through the floo.) Oh well, he knows what's best I guess and I have full confidence in you knowing what you're doing.

About Severus in the Hospital Wing...I can't wait to hear his thoughts!! Yay angst!! I hope you enjoy your week and have fun writing it! You truly are great at it! Until next chapter...

    Author's Response:

Thank you so very, very much.  And, yay, for another long review.  I just love 'em!

I'm glad you're an angst fun as well!  It's just too much fun not to write angsty.  And, I agree...guys would be lost without us!  :)  Aren't Ginny and Hermione wonderful?

Hmm...you'll have to wait and see what Harry is going to do now with this newest revelation.   There's still gonna be a whole lot of confusion and angst though, I can guarantee you that.

I'm so happy that you like the way both Sev and Harry are reacting to everything that is happening.  And, of course, it made me giddy to hear how giddy you were about Sev realizing Harry was really his boy.

Remus will be around lots more throughout the story.  I can't resist a protective Remus.

Dumbledore is a mystery, it's true.  We'll revisit him later though so never fear.  He's got lots to do in the meantime though.  :)

The next chapter will be up in a few days.  Enjoy.

Title: Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Vigil 12 Dec 2007
Reviewer: pkrosche (Signed)
Great chapter! Can't wait for OotP and the next installment!!

I must say that I agree with cathyrf, Severus did need a few good smacks to the head. But I agree that he's trying with Harry. I did like seeing him come to the realization that Harry's the same person as the baby he held all those years ago. That at least stopped me from throwing my laptop at the wall! I can't wait to see them actually talk about their relation, though. But it's good that it's all agnsty-it's the best!!

You kept them both really in character here too, Severus being all snarky and sarcastic; Harry needing to dredge up some Gryffindor courage to ask about Snape staying in the infirmary all night. It was great to hear Harry talk to Ginny too...who of course knows what's going on without him telling her the whole truth. It's great that they're close, I feel that she's going to be Harry's major pillar of support.

Hermione and Ron...well, that quidditch match was certainly interesting, as well as Hermoine's cushioning charm...a little too enthusiastic! I love it!!

Remus...he's turned out to be a great character. I do love how he's sticking up and watching out for Harry. He's so protective, it's adorable! I just hope that he and Severus can come to an understanding (maybe not actually be friends, because while I believe that Harry and Snape can overcome their past, I don't really think that Snape and Lupin will all of a sudden be best mates) that they're both trying to protect the same person. But, that's for later. I'm also expecting more light to be brought to the issue of Dumbledore...hehe.

What else...I'm really looking forward to seeing Severus beat himself up after his little confrontaition with Harry. And he was doing soo good in the dungeons, albeit alone, with his feelings!! But, it wouldn't make sense for Harry to suddenly feel comfortable around Severus, and for Severus to suddenly proclaim his love for Harry. You've got them in character perfectly and it's brilliant.

Until next chapter! (Don't watch too much OotP, set some time aside to write too!)

    Author's Response:

Okay, okay...I finally turned off the TV (after watching the whole movie and then all the extras too...I was really annoyed BTW that they didn't include the scene with Ron and Harry at the end...it was rather sweet...have you seen it?) and now I've written two more pages, just for all of you.  I was so incredibly inspired by the movie.  I guess I already knew it before but it really stroke me with some of the lines how much Harry would do for a chance for a family.  I was kind of in awe and it really gave me some great ideas for the story.  So, it wasn't totally wasted time, right?  lol

I had to laugh at the image of you throwing your laptop.... I know Sev is an idiot, but he is trying, you're right.  And, he'll figure all of this out soon enough...or at least enough to not leave Harry in a puddle on the floor next time.

Glad you like the "enthusiastic" charm of Hermione's.  I love that girl!

I love Remus too and he's back in the next chapter, adorably protective.  :)

Remus and Snape do need to get to some kind of understanding since I'm sure Harry will want both of them in his life eventually.  Wonder if Snape will realize that?

Dumbledore...he's got a lot to get done before he can come back and perhaps explain himself....hee hee.

Severus will keep working on his feelings.  I think this Sev does understand things very well about feelings (much different from the Canon stories because our Sev was once very deeply loved and I think that changed him profoundly, even with all that happened).

THanks so much for your compliments.  Well, back to Severus and Harry...

Title: Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Nudges from Remus 14 Dec 2007
Reviewer: pkrosche (Signed)
YAY!! UPDATE!! I just love how you're able to update just when I need it. I couldn't read any fics earlier this week due to sutdying for my spanish oral exam, but after I took that and got back to my dorm...ta da!! Time to relax! (Although it was anything but a relaxing chapter...but that's ok, because it was perfect!!)

Ok, I loved the 1981 scene. I just love the exchange that went on there! Poor Severus...who was perfectly in character here! I especially loved his reaction to how he reacted in the Hospital Wing. I love seeing his logic and how he assesed the situation, it was brilliant. His reaction to Harry's scar from Umbridge was also spot-on. And I love how Harry reacted...is he making a joke?!

Remus was also awesome here, I just love him! He's the perfect influence for both Severus and Harry and I hope that he gets to stay in the picture once the two of them become closer. His light hearted tone after DADA when talking to Harry was excellent, I've always imagined him as more level headed than Harry and Severus put togeter. Keep him awesome!!

Harry, Harry, Harry. That poor kid, but at least he understands a little bit more about Severus now, and can react accordingly. I do agree with you, though. I think he would try everything he's able to in order to have a family...even if said family is the Greasy Git of the Dungeons. I was also excited to see a bit of the trio in this chapter too...with Ginny!! Ahh, Ginny! So, IS it a date?, huh, huh?

Don't know if you'll address it, either, but does Malfoy recieve a zero on his potion? Do we get to find out more about him in later chapters?!

I'm just so excited for the next chapter!! YAY!! I really want to see what Severus is thinking about all this. You really do a good job at characterization and the positioning of details within the story, it is truly a pleasure to read! Until next chapter!! (Who needs to study for finals, anyway?)

    Author's Response:

Oh, I'm so glad you got a bit of a break with the chapter.  Finals are no fun.

I love the 1981 scenes too.  I just can't resist Sev, Lily and James and then throw little Harry into the mix and wow, how fun!

I'm glad too that you like Severus' ponderings in the dungeon after his tantrum in the Infirmary.  It was fun to write, because he's moody, but logical at the same time and pretty dense too.  Severus is very complicated!  :)

The scene at the end was really fun too.  Snape cracking a joke, totally deadpan was awesome.  I love Harry and him interacting more now, though of course it's not going to be smooth sailing at all.

Yay!  Remus is great, isn't he? I really think you're right.  He's the perfect balance for those two quick-tempered guys.  Don't worry, there will be lots more Remus, and angst to go with it as Harry and Severus grow slowly closer.

Harry has got to be totally confused but he can think logically a bit too, just like dad!  :)  I just really got the feeling after OOTP that Harry would accept Severus if only give half a chance.  It doesn't take much for Harry to let you in his heart.  I love that about him, especially that it makes him so heart breakingly vulnerable.

Ginny is the best.  I guess you'll have to see if it's a date, won't you?  LOL

Dont worry, don't worry, Malfoy has a big role to play in this fic still.  I love Malfoy and he'll be around a ton.  This story is nowhere near even a midway point, so we've got lots to do still.  Malfoy doesn't receive a zero, even though Severus was rather annoyed at him for insinuating that Harry was stupid during Potions class.  :)  He's got to keep ihis mask on, so to speak, you know and of course, he is fond of the mean little blond Slytherin, but more about that later. :)

I love that you are so excited about the story.  It really boosts me to get my butt writing!  Next chapter should be up in a few days, as usual.  (and yep, HP fanfics are way more important than finals).

Title: Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Dark Mark 16 Dec 2007
Reviewer: pkrosche (Signed)
Great chapter!! Perfect characterization here as well, I loved it!

The opening scene with Harry and Severus in the potions classroom was great! I'm glad that their relationship is moving at a reasonable pace. It's perfectly believable, wonderful job! I'm also glad to note that maybe Harry's not as easy to read as Severus once thought. That certainly makes things interesting. And Severus' desire to break Harry of his shrugging was extremely funny. I think I'd do the same thing. It seems that every other answer Harry gives is a shrug. *shrugs*

Oh, Harry. He's got a bit of Slytherin in him! Eventhough his lie to Seamus was pitiful...hopefully we get to see some more of that! And more of Ginny too!! I love how close they've gotten, it was beautiful! It's great that Harry goes to her for help too, they're just so adorable!! I was a H/G, R/H shipper from the start!! YAY!

Interesting background on the Malfoys. I'm glad to see Severus being able to confide in someone, even if they really can't be considered 'friends.' Is Draco's 'task' just like it is in cannon? I can't wait to see what it is...ooh!! Could it be to befriend Harry Potter?! After all, Narcissa does say, "But, he hates my Draco!” Hmmm...

Well, I think that's all, good luck writing and have a good week!!

    Author's Response:

Thanks!  Glad you enjoyed the chapter.  The first bit was really hard to write...trying so painstakingly to get Snape and Harry just right.  It was much easier when they so openly hated each other!  LOL

Harry does shrug a lot and it is extremely annoying.  :)  Even funnier though that Snape has these random inklings of perhaps...parentalness?  :)

Yeah, I guess Severus was right...Harry does need some help with his lying abilities.

Yay that you liked the Ginny scene.  I am a huge H/G and R/Hr shipper too. Both couples are just perfect together.  The kiss was really fun to write.

Hmmmm.....is Sev confiding in the Malfoys?   Mwuhahahahahaha

Thanks for another great review and you have a great week too, though hopefully another chapter will be up before week's end!

Title: Chapter 16: Chapter 16: Help 19 Dec 2007
Reviewer: pkrosche (Signed)
"I will help you." Perfect ending!! My heart is aching in my chest right now...*sigh* I can't wait to see our favorite boys interact during their fist Occlumency lesson. I just know it's going to be great! Good luck writing it too, hopefully your muse keeps pestering you so we can get another chapter before the Holiday. That would be great!

Another favorite part: "Harry’s mouth fell open, unable to stop himself staring at the bluish-haired woman." LOVED IT!! As well as the conclusion that Severus came to, and I thought you handled it all very well. It was brilliantly played out! Oh, Remus, he's always getting beat up by Snape. I feel sorry for the guy, but at least he's still able to be around Harry and comfort him when it's needed. You're just so great at characterization it's mind-boggling!

Ginny, she's amazing. I'm so glad that she and Harry are having a real relationship here and that we get to see so much of them interacting. And, she's perfect as the one to give advise to Harry, or to explain what Severus' motives are, what he's feeling. She's also really intuned to Harry's feelings and expectations...they're just perfect together! YAY!! More Ginny!!

Umm...this was a really excellent chapter, and as I've said, I can't wait to see what happens with Harry's first (new) Occlumency lesson! Also, hopefully you're able to tie more of those pesky subplots in too. Happy week, and good luck writing!

    Author's Response:

Yay that you liked the last line.  That was fun to leave you all sort of hanging, but in a good way this time!  :)

Remus and Tonks are the best and I would have loved more of them in the books, so I get to treat myself here. LOL

Thanks for being so complimentary.  The characterizations, I think are the most fun.

Don't worry...there'll be lots and lots of Ginny.

    Occlumency is up next.
