Hmmm. I'm getting *really* curious about Dumbledore's secret. ::hunkering down to wait for next chapter's revelation:: Author's Response: he could do that, if he thought about it, but you know Harry...he's much more likely to lose it and just reveal himself unwittingly, and then everyone will be running for the hills. You can see Dumbles revelation now, since I've just posted it!
Hmm Maybe this will end up giving Harry the idea of cultivating his suppressed Slytherin characteristics, and *thinking* before *doing.* Heh. I'm rather proud of Freedom--I don't think Severus noticed his familiar was having a melt-down. And Fawkes is a sweetie! It also looks like Freedom's not blaming Severus--at least not yet. I hope he keeps it all aimed square at Dumbledore, and really gets it that Snape was just following orders in relaying that false prophecy. I hope Fawkes pops back in again sometime! =] Author's Response: It will, if anything will! Albus really screwed it up this time! No, Freedom is still blaming Albus, even though what Severus did was stupid too. Fawkes will be popping in again relatively soon! I've updated twice, by the way.
Author's Response: yes, well Severus is starting to suspect . . .Harry's one clever hawk . ..er. . .kid! I should be posting again very soon like today! So watch your inbox, okay!
Ooooo, next chapter ought to be a doozy!! Author's Response: That's probably true, LOL! yes, he has, but it'll be awhile before Sev realizes it. Get ready . . .starts a countdown . . .10 . . .9 . . .8 . . .7 . . .6 . .. 5 . .run quickly!!
I hope Hagrid has a Bludger handy--or at least that letter pops out and Severus actually *reads* the darned thing! Sheesh. Umbridge has just *got* to get hers by the end of this! ::begging puppy dog eyes:: Author's Response: Thanks. yeah, he might need one, give how stubborn Snape is, LOL! Oh she WILL! Looking forward to that!
I loved the talk with Hagrid. I never like it when authors make Snape (or any character!) *so* obstinate you need a sledgehammer to pound any scrap of sense into their skulls. Snape's smart; and Hagrid's what I call "country-wise"--he understands things without all the fancy ten-syllable words. Oh, but I *really* want Umbridge to get hers! ::growls:: ...do you have a Yahoo! Group or somesuch, where your most dedicated fans can cluster to all go *squeeee!* and sing your praises in counterpoint and argue plot points and everything? ::pleading puppy dog eyes:: Hunh? Hunh? Do ya?? Could ya?? Author's Response: Well, harry can't transform with it on, no matter how angry he is. And the cuff is really evil! Yes, Severus is trying hard to keep that temper under wraps . . .he can do it too, when he feels motivated enough. I agree about Severus and what you said. Snape is smart, he can see things differently if he has them presented a certain way, logically and with all the facts. He's stubborn, yes, but not blindly stubborn, like Ron Weasley can be at times. Yes, he does have problems with Harry comparing him to James, but once he really looks at Harry and sees him, he can admit that he was wrong and try and change. Hagrid too, he is country-wise, looking at the heart of something. Umbridge shall be getting it, don;t worry! A yahoo group . . no, but I guess i could make one, if someone would tell me how!
::dark laughter:: Severus gets Umbridge next? OBOY! OBOY!! ::jumps up and down in excitement:: *And* Harry sticking up for Severus against Ron...? Wheee! That's gonna be an explosive chapter! ::grabs flak jacket again:: Author's Response: Oh yes, put your helmet on! And then hurry up and read the next one! Yes, Severus will get Umbridge good!
Of course, now *Ron* needs a good whalloping... Ah, well. He's certainly in character (I'm remembering fourth year--ooooh, but I wanted to smack him then, too!). I don't know if I'd prefer Harry to deal with Ron, or Snape to get involved; there's *such* potential for personal mayhem there! ::settling back to wait faux-patiently for the next chapter:: Author's Response: Oh good, I've converted you! LOL! Yeah for once he actually LISTENED . . .mostly to Snape. Oh he does indeed and Molly might just give him one . . .or maybe Hermione. Uh, if Severus got a hold of him . . .there might be some serious bodily harm done, especially if Ron started badmouthing Harry. Your patience has been rewarded, for the next one is posted1 Oh and thanks for the instructions about the yahoo group, I will see about getting one set up!
...it took Harry *twenty-five minutes* to say yes to Snape's guardianship? *E-gads!* Severus has his work cut out for him with that boy! Heh. I almost hope Albus is difficult, just so Severus can let the old man have what-for. I'm sure Minerva would love a go at the Headmaster, too. Oooo, Occlumency lessons...at least they can't go as badly as in canon. ::wince:: Hmmm. Is Sirius going to show up and muck everything up, by any chance? ::twitch-of-a-grin:: Harry *was* asking him questions via letter, after all--he might think the boy needs a personal visit. ::snicker:: I'd imagine he'll be more horrified than Ron...and Harry will defend Severus, which will set Sirius off like nothing else...! ::checking where I put that flak jacket, just in case:: That could be even more fun than Umbridge's final exit! (Which scene caused me to scare the fur off three cats with the unexpected cheering! =P ) Author's Response: Isn't it, though? Someday Malfoy's going to go too far, and then he'll get it good. Oh yes, he does! Severus will let the old coot have it good, believe me. And so will Minerva. No, definitely not THAT bad. Oh yes, Sirius will be showing up soon, and he would be more horrified than Ron and probably behave just as badly too . . .because Sirius still harbors old grudges. And Harry while he likes Sirius, will have a stronger biond with Severus and yes, he will tell Sirius off good. It could and that's really funny! Hope you knitted some sweaters for your kitties, LOL!
Boy, Harry could certainly use an anger management class! I'm proud of Severus for keeping his own control, however tenuously. Dealing with cantankerous teens can drive one INSANE! They're all Att-i-tude with no ears. At least Harry knows his temper is a problem! That's the hardest part. I liked the imagery and techniques for the Occlumency lessons, too. Draco sure can put his foot in it! ::snicker:: I think his Black blood is showing--Sirius has that same foot-in-mouth syndrome, but I doubt Lucius has ever exhibited any symptoms. It's good Severus got Harry to talk about his dreams. Canon always drove me wild, the way Harry just miraculously Got Over Stuff, between books and off-scene. I can't wait to see how Ron and Sirius' attitudes are dealt with--and the Dumbledore Confrontation! ::pitching the flak jacket back into its trunk storage and grabbing popcorn, Twix bars and a Mountain Dew in preparation to enjoy the show:: Author's Response: Isn't it though? I love it! I think most teens could do with one, especially at that age. I know where you're coming from with that comment. Anyone who has taught children could sympathize with that. There are times I was like . . .help me God but I want to KILL something! Oh yes, Draco has abit more of the Black family in him than Malfoy. No, Lucius must have been born with a forked or silken tongue, he's a slick one. Yes, that drove me nuts too, but then JKR was going for the Ultimate Hero not a relaistic portrayal of a teenage boy dealing with stuff no teenager ought to. Ron's reaction is posted now, go read it! And thank you!
