Hufflepuff!
10 year old Harry is kidnapped along with his aunt and cousin after Vernon finds money that belonged to powerful people. Snape eventually steps in to save the day. Severus later adopts Harry though a ritual to make Harry his biological son. Harry just wants to be normal but that isn't possible with escaped convict Sirius Black on the loose! Harry's first year at Hogwarts but with a slight twist to it.

- Wow, that's some idea of Dumbledore's, but it is brilliant! What a great way to spare Harry the attention and danger of his identity, plus giving him a real, living father.
I'm so happy that Severus can see Lily in Harry. It's such a shame that canon Snape never could do that, because in many ways, Harry was more like her. I've always thought they could have gotten along better if Snape could have seen past Harry's looks to his soul.

- Aw, that was sweet! I love to see Severus and Harry bonding. It's good that they're already getting comfortable with one another, that Harry can turn to Severus for comfort.
I can imagine that it was a great shock for Harry to read his true history in a book, and I'm glad Severus was able to be there for him.
The shopping trip was sweet and fun, and I loved the mention of "Hogwarts, A History" at the beginning! Harry and Hermione will have something to talk about, if Hermione ends up being in the story, that is.
Author's Response: Well Hermione will show up, but it won't be until the sequel to this story. I'm sure you'll find out why in the next chapter or two.

- Great start! Sounds like some real meanies have Petunia, Dudley, and Harry. I have to admit, I find it hard to picture Vernon parting with money just to get Harry returned, but I hope they'll be all right!
Author's Response: I too find it hard to believe Vernon would ever pay to get his nephew. But he isn't giving the money back in exchange for Harry, he just wants his wife and son back.

- Hmm, maybe the kidnappers aren't so bad after all. They are nicer to Harry than the Dursleys, although that's not saying much, is it?
I can't help but feel a teeny bit sorry for Dudley (Harder to feel anything but contempt for Petunia here). But Dudley is just a kid, too, and although I'd love to have him to myself for a few weeks, and get his bullying ways out of him, it's not really his fault that his parents are idiots who have ruined him. And he would have to be pretty scared being kidnapped like that.

Author's Response: Surprisingly enough, I feel bacd for Dudley as well since his parents spoil him so much that it really wont help him later on in life. As you read on, you'll discover breifly that things will change dramatically in Dudley's living arrangements...

- I loved the interaction with the characters, especially Vernon and Severus. I wonder if Severus will believe Vernon's lies about why Harry wasn't in the pictures or pick up on the fact that Vernon only asked about Petunia and Dudley when he first saw Severus.
Thank goodness Alex is there to help protect Harry. And the bit about his daughter Lisa is interesting.

- Oh, Dumbledore can be a bit sneaky here, can't he? He certainly knows how to play the 'Lily' card with Severus.
It's so lucky for them all that Severus was at Privet Drive when the kidnappers brought them back. And I think Jason makes a much better toad than he does a human. The worst he can do now is give someone warts.
Author's Response: Dumbledore is very very sneaky... And it's a shame for Jason that toads dont live as long as people so I'm thinkin his life expectancy has gone down just a bit. :) By the way, thanks for all these reviews!

- Poor Harry! My heart just breaks for him here. Vernon Dursley is such a monster. I really hope he'll get what's coming to him before the story is over.
It's a good thing Severus was able to get Harry out of there, and that Madame Pomfrey was able to care for him so well. Hopefully, Harry will feel completely better soon.
It was sweet to see how happy Harry was about decorating his room, and Severus was quite nice, letting him pick the colors out and planning to have carpet in all the rooms.

- Great chapter! So Harry is now Alec? That's pretty original, and I love it! It was very cute when Alec got his cloak to billow like Severus', and it's sweet that he can call him 'dad'.
So the Malfoys are making an appearance, too. That could be very interesting!

- Wow, I was not expecting to see Sirius in this story! And he's actually confronted Alec in Hogwarts. No wonder Severus is being so protective. I would be, too.
And I was so surprised at seeing Sirius that I almost forgot about Lisa and Alexander. I'm glad we got to meet Lisa, and I have a feeling we'll see more of her later.
It's nice that Alec gets to ride the train like the other kids, too. Maybe he'll meet some friends.

- Ooh, the Weasleys! I'm so happy that Alec met Fred and George! And I knew we'd see more of Lisa, too. She was kind of evasive about her parents' careers. I'd assumed she didn't know her dad was a criminal, but now I wonder....
