OMG. Snape in this entire story was totally in-character. I've read so many where it's like, Mkay Snapey is looking into Harry's mind and is like OMG BIATCH WHO DID THIS TO YOU I KEEL THEM!!!! but it's really nice to see something where Snape stays in character and uses that to make sure that Harry understands that he's worth more than that. Yeah. As much as I love reading about Snapey getting all miffed on Harry's behalf (in due course, of course XD) Snarky Snape is awesome too. And your Snapey is definately awesome XD

- I love stories with younger Harry, and this is no exception - you've characterised him really well, and I am very impressed with the scene at the end where he's going through the trash - I think you've illustrated Harry so well in this first chapter. I'm definately in love XD

- Can I just say that I love how you've still made Harry defiant (well, sort of) and how he won't eat the dog food. It's really nice how you've sort of hinted that, even though he's put up with so much, he still knows he's worth more than a dog.

- I've read this chapter so many times I thought I'd just drop in a quick review before I went to bed - I love how you've done Snape, how he's jealous and when he's all like:
"He tended to rely heavily on that expression when he was unsure of something. Or frustrated. Or bored."
It's nice to know that even Severus Snape can be unsure. Even though he's trying to hide it XD But we know better, Snapey! Oh, and btw, I've made it my personal mission to review every chapter of this story, because I've read it so many times on ff.net and enjoyed it so much that it's high time I give something back C:

- There are so many "aww' moments in this story but I think I'll just pick my favourite:
"A thrill of fear went through the boy, but he knew better than to drink things offered to him when he'd been bad. Last time Aunt Petunia had told him to "drink up," and had given him something yellow that smelt of lemons, it had burned his throat and his stomach. He'd been sick for days, and not allowed in the house."
One of many perfect lines in a perfect story. Harry's treatment at the hands of his relatives is so ... enraging X( I have no love for them. D:
