Yup, and that's why these kinds of stories are some of my very favorites. I love these interactions and how well you manage to ever so slowly wrap Harry around Snape's little finger (whether he likes it or not). Another great chapter and looking forward to the next one! Author's Response: They're both very slowly becoming entwined in each others lives, but Severus is more aware of it, and thus more aware of how powerless he is to stop it :-D Thanks for your review!
Poor Harry...oops, that's three. I'm dying to know just what ARE his signs for Snape! Oh, and so Slytherin of Snape to get him to answer all those questions in class. That's the Severus we all know and love! Love, love, love this story. Author's Response: Haha. I thought the same thing a few times :) Glad you liked it, and thanks for the review!
OK, you killed me with that one. When Harry wanted to know what Snape would feel I was on pins and needles waiting for the answer. Another tissue got pulled from the infamous Kleenix box on my computer desk. Wow, Snape is turning into an incredible father for Harry. This was a terrific chapter. Well done! Author's Response: Hee! I think that floored everyone, me included. I didn't think Severus was quite there yet, but what do you know! It was awfully brave of Harry to ask, don't you think?
I was missing your story updates so was happy to get to read one today. It was good assignment for Harry - try to analyze why he'd been so extreme in his emotional responses to things. I don't think Severus was ready for that parchment, though. Whatever will he do with this information? It was a lovely, tearjerker of a chapter. Author's Response: I seem to be making everyone cry, lol. Thanks for your patience in waiting for an update. I was missing my story too ;) As for Severus, we'll cover his reaction in Chapter 22.
Although I started laughing at first (because how can you not) at this: "He sneered to himself at the irony. Severus Snape had to teach Harry Potter not to be ashamed of his emotions. He wondered briefly if the apocalypse was upon them." The irony was just delicious! But I could just *feel* Harry's embarrassment, poor guy, when Severus showed him the drawing. I don't know why, but for some reason I wasn't sure if Severus was going to offer to be Harry's father figure or not, but was SO happy he offered. The ending was incredibly heartwarming. And we finally found out Harry's sign for Severus. *Grins* Thank you! Author's Response: I'm glad that part made you laugh, because it's one of my favourites too :) Yeah, I wanted Harry's reaction to be that way because I think any kid would be HORRIFIED if something they had drawn or written in private was found by an adult. That was actually pulled from my own life, where I was in a situation a little bit like Harry's here. And I can still remember 18 years later how horribly embarrassed I was. Thankws so much for your review!!
And yah! Harry gets to stay with him for the summer. (You're planning a sequel, right? Right?) Hope Ron and Hermione don't give Harry too hard a time for speaking to Severus and not them. And Severus gets the hug for this chapter, for telling Harry "this is what parents do." Will Harry honor his coupon? I'm dying to know! Author's Response: I had a lot of fun throwing that line in there. I didn't know Severus was going to say it until it appeared on the page :) Lots of questions about a sequel, lol. I'm flattered. Yes, very likely, but I still have to work out the basic story line. And as for your other questions, I believe they will be dealt with in the next chapter!
The cracks started when he said "what parents do is die." (Oh, Harry, come out, come out wherever you are...you need a hug). How can you not love Poppy? The look and retort she gave Severus was priceless. I really need that next chapter soon so I know Harry's okay. Please? Author's Response: I know, poor Harry. He just couldn't help himself. I'll do my best to let you know how Harry's doing asap :)
Ever so thankful that you're doing a sequel! I want more! Looking forward to it immensely! Author's Response: Thank you so much for all your reviews and insight into the story. I'm glad you liked the ending :) Snape and Harry are locked in the Room of Requirement by Dumbledore. Harry's magic works, and Snape's doesn't. Will they kill each other? Harry's use of the Sorting Hat was brilliant and I didn't at all see what was coming. Also loved Harry being all Gryffindor and not wanting to go without Snape. I don't know who I felt sorrier for - Snape or Harry - when Snape gave Harry is reason to leave without him. Can't wait to see what happens next!
Loved the conversation between Snape and Harry (getting their stories straight) and it shows what they've been through that they can communicate in this way. I also loved the talk with Ron and Hermione and how quickly they agreed to take the Fidelius Charm. They've always been terrific as a trio! You kept it completely in character for me. Eagerly waiting for the next chapter! |
