Sequel to ‘Harry and the Unexpected Christmas’. Having been de-aged in his sixth year Harry starts again with different priorities, other friends, and unlikely allies. AU, partly OOC, Dumbledore bashing.

Argh! What a cliffie! This was a lovely chapter despite leaving me hanging on with my fingertips tryingto hold on till the next installment. Hurray! Harry has his Mum back! But what happened to our dear Potions Master? This story just keeps getting better and better. Thank you for sharing it with us.

Author's Response: Hi, thanks for reading and reviewing - I'm glad you liked the chapter! Sev will probably all right, he's just having a small panic attack :-)

When Severus Snape finds a certain brat-who-lived out after curfew the year after Voldemort's return, it starts a chain of events that he wouldn't have imagined in his wildest dreams. Or nightmares.

Title: Chapter 41: I Go Walking in My Sleep 17 Jul 2008

An excellent chapter though I was a bit confused about where the Floo station was. After reading the last chapter I thought it was in London and then it turned out to be in Perth. Regardless I was on the edge of my seat when I realised that Voldemort and his Deatheaters were there and I almost fell out of my chair with relief when Severus managed to use the Portkey. The "discussion" was execllently written and I could feel Snape's aggravation and frustration. Are we going to find out what is on the parchment that Narcissa gave to Severus? Great job!

After a failed spell is used on Harry, he is accidentally deaged. Voldemort, angry with this failure, orders Snape to get close to the boy and then bring him to Voldemort. With Dumbledore telling him to follow along for the moment, Snape has to deal with a 7-year-old. But no one could possibly foresee what fate has in store for Harry Potter and Severus Snape.

Eeep! Poor Harry! And poor Severus, too! I'm surprised that our esteemed Potions Master didn't have a heart atack at that last revelation.

This is an excellent story and I look forward to it's continuance.

Harry's life is turned around and upside down when a late night visitor from the future tells him the unthinkable. Now he must convince Snape to teach him Occlumency, get along with Draco Malfoy and survive through what Voldemort has planned for him.

I have one thing to say: "AAAAAAUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH!"

What a place to leave us hanging!

Author's Response: (Grin) I have said that to so many authors myself, it's nice to be on the receiving end for once, lol. I won't make you wait too long, thank you!

Very nice chapter and a much needed calm time after the pulse-pounding events of the previous chapters. I like your Narcissa, already she is far more 3-dimensional than most other fanfic Narcissas (or even JKR's!)

You're going great. Keep it up!

    Dancingkatz

    Author's Response:

Thank you! Narcissa scares me, lol. She's a great character and I don't want her to seem to lame (because I beleive she is a great character...as I already said, lol). Thank you!

A near tragedy and a shocking discovery lead two bitter enemies to much soul searching and eventual acceptance of each other. Much angst along the way though. Some Ginny and Harry.

Title: Chapter 33: Chapter 33: The Best Birthday Ever 21 Oct 2008
Reviewer: dancingkatz (Signed)
I am not displeased at all. Truly! The scene between Harry and Ginny was very well written and I liked the fact that everything didn't go completely smoothly for them. The start of a real relationship is always fraught with misunderstandings and confusion and it makes their growing love for each other much more realistic than if everything had been smooth sailing.

I thought the stuff about the snitch was really cool and am wondering if the snitch is actually heavier now that it holds Harry's magical signature (or perhaps something else?) than when Harry first held it.

Severus' present to Harry was perfect, and I'm not talking about Lily's textbook (or at least no only Lily's textbook). What made Sev change his mind about letting other people know about their relationship as father and son? I'm sure you'll tell us eventually.

I'm really looking forward to the rest of your story. You are an excellent writer and you just keep getting better and better!

    Author's Response:

Hi there. Thanks for the review. Glad you liked the chapter so much. I think it would be too boring to have everything go too smoothly. They care too much for each other to let it fester though. The snitch is the snitch that DD leaves to HArry in his will in DH. It is heavier because the Resurrection Stone is inside it. My Dd doesn't die, you see.

Sev changed his mind because he finally realised after he argued with HArry and Albus last chapter, just how hard it would be for HArry to keep on pretending to hate him all through the coming school year. They will, of course, have to continue with the subterfuge in front of others, especially the Slytherins...draco and Nott specifically. He is only telling the Weasley,s and Hermione...Fleur too becasue she and Bill are together.

Thank you for your compliments. I hope I can continue to please.

I love ASD! Each chapter is better and better and I'm really enjoying seeing how Sev and Harry's relationship is developing.Your dialog is excellent and I like the way you get into the character's heads. I particularly like that you are having all your characters be human, not plaster saints or demons. I can tell that Sev and Harry are in for some rough spots just because Harry is a teenager and because of their past histories, but I have the feeling that it will all work out in the end. I am looking forward to seeing Ron's actions when Harry arrives at the burrow. I hope he'll be more like Arthur and less like Molly. Great work!

    Author's Response:

Thank you for your wonderful review. I am so glad that you like my writing enough to ompliment me like this. I really inspired me to continue to strive even though I am not finding writing easy at the moment.

Sev and HArry will continue to butt heads for the exact reasons you ahve mentioned and also becasue they have not yet spoken to each other about emotions. HArry is too quick to take exception, memories of Sev's past attitiude is difficult to let go of.

    Ron up next.

Oh, I lve the image of Pigwidgeon flying in circles around Severus' head. It made me chuckle (I'd laugh out loud but my roommate is asleep and I don't want to wake her). I also love how gentle he was with the little thing. If only Dumbledore would have better timing. Now Sev is in a bad mood again.

I love how you are handling the characters and the plotline. It's flowing nicely and you have let us into the characters heads just enough whist filling in the other iinformation we need ot know with your excellent dialog. Keep up the good work!

    Author's Response:

Hi there! Glad you liked the Pig scene. I really enjoyed writing that. I do think that Minerva's ponderings are spot on. AWho would have thought? But I think Sev would be an animal lover. He would find it easier to get on with them than with people.

It's gratifying to know that you enjoy the dialogue. I try very hard to make it as natural as possible. Nice to know I have succeeded.

Thanks so much for your review.

Title: Chapter 38: Chapter 38: Fatherhood is Overrated. 21 Apr 2009

I'm definitely still reading and it's been worth the wait. I really like it that all is not smooth sailing as Severus and Harry learn to be father and son. Far too many Snape-as-Harry's-father fics just ignore the years of anger and hatred between the two of them and have everything going perfect from teh minute they find out they are related. That is totally unrealistic. You have, however, made it clear that their relationship is developing in a natural and real way and that makes every chapter a pleasure to read.

I love your characterizations (particularly Ginny) and you're writing style. IT is very easy to read and I've not been jarred out of the story-verse by awkward phrasing or inappropriate slang, for the which I thank you.

I just want to add the following and tell you that I'm looking forward to the next chapter.

    Bravo!

    Author's Response:

What a truly lovely review. Thank you so much. I am thrilled that you think so much of ASD. I agree with you about the ease whith which some fics have Harry and Sev accepting each other. They both want the relationship ultimately--now--but the past would be very difficult, particularly for Harry, to forget. He wants to forget, and he always feels guilty if some memory raises its head because he thinks he has forgiven Sev for all the harsh years. Things will get easier but it will take a long time. also, the two of them are so very alike, temper-wise, even though Harry has a much softer disposition.

Being Australian, I think it is easier for me than an American (and I imagine the majority of authors are from the US) to stick to being British in the stories...certainly as far as vocabularly goes. Our culture is probably more British than American, but I am a real Anglophile anyway, and have been there  as well as having a friend who is British. We also get a lot of British television over here and I usually enjoy British movies and find them more realistic than a lot of American TV or movies. Saying that, there are quite a few American shows I love too.

    Anyway, thank you again.

    Lesley~

This was a wonderful chapter, scary, exciting and funny by turns. I really like how you depict the characters' emotional state, especially Severus and Harry as they try to build their relationship without letting out the secret. I do hope you continue posting here as I look forward to each chapter very much. Bravo on sorting out the computer issues. They can be more frustrating than teaching Neville Longbottom to make a shrinking solution.
