Thanks for not holding the second half of hte trial up. This was heartwrenching in the extreme but the Dursleys definitely got what was coming to them. I'm (like Severus) just sorry that Harry had to be in the same room as that monster Vernon. But with the people who really love him and are his real family I'm certain that Harry will get better. I'm absolutely tickled about how the brotherly relationship has developed between Harry and Draco. And Sev is a fabulous Dad.
Keep up the great work please!

Oh, dear! Now who could have picked up the diary? Hermione? Hannah Abbott? Or someone we haven't met yet? I'm going to be waiting on tenterhooks for the answer to the mystery.
I loved it that Harry found his Mum's tree and I truly enjoyed the description of his first time ever decorating and stringing popcorn and lighting the star. I wish I had a set of those magical candles for my Christmas tree. There's nothing prettier than a candlelit tree but also few things more dangerous. I'm glad the wizarding world has a solution for the problem. A lovely, lovely chapter and I'm looking forward to the next one.
Author's Response: I agree about the tree. Years ago, my husband and I discovered a shop that sold electric tree candles - these were individual ones. We bought the lot. Between those and real candles that are never, ever lit - the tree always looks like it's straight from the old country. I also don't do theme trees - eclectic only. That way, the tree means something to the family, rather than just a pretty decoration.

Well, you may not be ticklish, but this chapter tickled me thoroughly. I loved seeing Harry's reaction to Father Christmas and Hedwig deciding to nap on his crosier and...well, everything, actually. Great job!
Author's Response: Thanks - I liked that visual as well. Father Christmas always struck me as a bit of St Francis, as well, and that animals would automatically gravitate to him.

Oh, I really like this! You did an excelent job of balancing action, conversation, description and exposition of the characters' thoughts. I am looking forward to the continuation of this story and have added you to my favourites list.
Author's Response: Thanks, I'm glad you like this new one. I'd been thinking about the magic potions challenge for awhile now, but hadn't had a good enough picture of where I wanted to go with it until now, thanks to some very excellent inspiration by Sarah McLaughlin.

Well, it couldn't have been Peeves who pushed Harry because he would have felt the cold so that would leave several possibilities... hmmm. Not Draco since he's stuck in his dormitory... my initial thought was Quirrell and I think I'll stick with that idea for now.
Severus' response was perfect. I really like how you've developed the relationaship between Harry and him over the course of the story.
I can also really sympathise with Harry, I fell earlier in the year, messed my knee up thoroughly and got horrific charley horses all up and down my leg . It's even worse to get them when your leg is splinted up from hip to ankle. I sure could have used Severus' wonderful hands and healing potions that particular night!
I really love this story and I'm sorry for not reviewing every chapter as I read it. I'll try to do better at that because you are doing excellent writing and storytelling here.
Author's Response: You can keep guessing on who it was, you won't find out till the end of this. I really tried to make their relationship something of wonder as well as a bit of angst, and eventually Harry will grow to love Severus and Severus might even unbend enough to call harry "son" to his face. The charley horse addition came from my mother, who gets them sometimes from her Parkinsons, and she could use a good masseuse as well and some magic potions. But the only thing we had on hand were Tylenol and tonic water and warm towels. That worked, eventually. Glad I've never had them though. So glad you could review and you're liking this one, it's a very special one for me.

That detention was definitely, um... memorable. I really liked seeing the quidditch game through Severus' eyes. And the way he expressed his worry and affection to Harry after the detention was so touching. I'm definitely looking forward to the continuation of this story.
Author's Response: As Severus meant it to be. he's awfully clever, isn't he? *smirks* I had always wanted to do that Quidditich match through his eyes, because he was so intense, and I thought, wow, what must he be feeling? And then he told me, LOL! And harry shouldn't doubt now that Severus cares very much for him.

This was PERFECT! I love it that Harry is a cub rather than a full grown leopard. You have his mannerisms and attitude so perfect that I'm still grinning about it. When I read the bit where he tried to catch the mouse, it reminded me of when my Bengal kitten was learning to pounce and grab his toy mouse. So besides enjoying a very good chapter I also got to reminisce about something else that made me smile. Thanks.
Author's Response: Awww, I love kittens and always wanted a Bengal. They look so cool. I had plenty of cats, my last one died three years ago and I haven't yet gotten another, but someday I will. I still remember when my Magik was a kitten, she was so cute and funny! Whisper is based upon her. I had fun writing about him and I used to wish I was a cat when I was little, LOL!

ooh! Very creepy indeed! Downright frightening in fact. I hate to think of what might have happened had Dumbledore not gone ot get the mirror.
You write creepy very well.
Author's Response: Thanks, it's not my favorite thing to write, but I figured the mirror was more than it was made out to be in the books. And Harry was lucky indeed.
