Well written and very evocative. I do like the scenes from Severus' past in parallel with Harry's present. And I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Vernon get what's due him.

Lily's letter was beautiful though it is so very sad that she died believing hte love of her life was dead. I had to stop reading it and get a tissue before continuing.

Please keep writing and sharing this tale. I applaud and say "Bravo!"

Aww! Thank you so much! I know I always say this, but it really does mean a lot to me that you all like this so much! Thanks again!!

PS ten points to you! :)

After a series of tests to discover why Harry's magic has become erratic, a secret is revealed, one hidden for over fifteen years. But not all secrets disappear without consequence, leaving Severus to learn that potions cannot heal everything.

The care and hard work you are putting into this story is obvious throughout this chapter. I have no idea of what will cause Harry's eventual breakdown because there are so many things that could be the straw that breaks the camel's back. So I will just continue to wait and read. Keep up the good work and don't worry about how soon you get the next chapter posted. Fiction of this high quality is worth waiting for.

    Bravo!

Author's Response: Thanks! *smiles* Still, I plan to get the next chapter up within a few days.

Title: Chapter 23: Unanswered Questions 23 Oct 2009

Wow! this was a great chapter! I especially like the idea of Severus' appearance (particularly his hooked nose) being due to a glamour. So Albus is interfering with the Post, hmmm? I wonder if that is as much of a crime in the Wizarding World as it is in our world. In case case, it's obvious that the Headmaster knows something about Severus and Harry's relationship. I wonder if he steered Sev towards deciding to skip breakfast in the Great Hall and set a confundus charm to befuddle the owls when they enter the dungeons so he could keep control of Sev's mail... Is your Dumbledore a Slytherin? If he isn't, he sure does a good impression.

Yum, pecans--my favourite kind of nut. Does Sev like them? If he does, maybe you should save them for him. :)

    Excellent job!

    Author's Response:

Yay, you liked Severus' altered appearance. As much as I love Alan Rickman, he looks way older than Hogwart's youngest professor who's in his 30s, especially since wizards and witches live longer so I expect they age slower. I don't think Dumbledore steered Sev away from skipping breakfast in the Great Hall. Sev is really a solitary person, and i can totally see him wishing to get away from Albus and his lemon confections at the first chance he got. An interesting idea with the owls, but I truly think the owls got lost on their own. I picture the dungeons as a confusing maze and although owls are very smart, I think the dungeons even confuse people.

Sev hasn't told me if he likes pecans or not. Perhaps he'll cook something that contains them. We'll have to wait and see. ;) Thanks!

    Wow! Just... Wow!

What position does the Prince family hold in the Wizarding World that everyone reacts to Severus' identity the way they do?

Don't worry about the chapter being too long (though I'm sure you were wondering as you wrote it if you'd ever finish it). It was a most excellently written chapter and I'm growing more and more intrigued with the stuff that went on in the past and in the background. Bravissimi! I'm really looking forward to the next chapter.

    Dancingkatz

    Author's Response:

Thanks! I picture the Prince family as an old wealthy pureblood family, and as such holds a somewhat distinguished place in society, or rather a very distinguished place before Sev's parents decided to throw their own coup d'etat concerning wizarding traditions and how purebloods were supposed to act and live. Even so, I imagine the Prince name to become somewhat of an enigma in the wizarding world since Sev kinda disappeared. I'm sure there's many crazy rumors about where he went to.

It wasn't really so much as wondering if I'd ever finish it, but I couldn't believe how long Lily's letter became. I expected it to be around 500 words, and I think it came in around 2,000! She just had lots and lots to say. I'm happy to hear you like hearing about the stuff that went on in the past and in the background because I'm sure there's more to surface.

I really like how you show us both Harry's and Severus' emotional and psychological responses to this situation. I look forward to the continuation of this story. You're doing a great job!

Harry Potter goes missing less than a day after being dropped on the doorstep of the Dursley home. One person must determine who his friends and enemies are as he protects the boy under the Headmaster's watch. Unusual favors are called in, unlikely friendships develop, and the shadow of betrayal grows darker...

    Great chapter!

The only correction I would make on the Latin is to change "Ostendo" (which actually means "I show") to "Ostende" (which is the imperative "Show!"), and "Tego" to "Tege". Otherwise your grammar looks correct.

I'm looking forward to seeing little Harry at Hogwarts.

Author's Response: Thank you for the review AND the Latin help!  Will be sure to change the Latin.  Thanks!  Thanks for reading!

This was such a sad and emotionally overwhelming chapter. Poor Tevin, poor Severus and poor Remus. I want ot hug and comfort all of them.

Remus is going to be beside himself when he wakes up and discoveres that Tevin is gone. And Tevin must be scared to bits because his Daddy isn't there.

Thanks for posting this. I understand and sympathise about how hard some chapters are to write. Good luck on finishing hte second half of this scene.

Author's Response: Thank you (and you're welcome)!  You may hug anyone you wish!  Yes, Remus might be...very nervous.  And Tevin certainly is nervous, but he is being raised by two Slytherins, so the resourcefulness and cleverness has to rub off eventually.  This massive chapter is ridiculous.  I've split it into three now.  It got to be too long even with two parts.  And the second part was harder to write than this part!  Three should not be so bad...Thank you for your review!  Hope you like parts II & III!  ~ RK

Harry Potter's in an accident, and guess who has to look after him?

Wonderful chapter! I especially liked Severus' comment that sent Umbridge out of the room and the list of books he's reading to Harry. I scared my cats, I laughed so loudly.

Author's Response: lol Yeah, Sev's a snarky one. ^-^ Thanks for another great review!

Awww! That was a PERFECT ending! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I just couldn't bear seeing our Sev so hurt and lost and am glad that you obviously felt the same way. Bravo!

Author's Response: Glad you liked it. And I've had this ending planned out for a long time. Thank you for reading! :D
