    Your rationale about snakes in JKR's world is spot on to me. This was a lovely little chapter. I especially liked Harry's solution to getting Severus the defense job in 8 or so years. And the DA has been born! I really like what you are doing with this story.

    I would have read and reviewed last night but I was at the emergency room after a fall. No broken bones thank goodness, just a sprained wrist and knee, but I sure could use one of Professor Snape's healing potions and bruise salve. Your story makes me smile and since smiling produces endorphins I'm feeling better already.

    Again bravissimi and thanks for the quick update.

    Wow! What a great chapter! I loved watching the kids figure out how the Room of Requirement worked. And Harry mentioning that a new Headmaster might not let Draco keep his snake was a superbly Slytherin way of keeping him from writing Lucius and getting Dumbledore removed. Oh, yes...the "it's dyslexic for Deatheaters Anonymous" line was great and I love Hermione's nickname of Chimera. Frankly, I loved it all. Once more, I say bravissimi. (Now imagine yourself receiving a standing ovation).

    Author's Response: Thank you ^^ I wanted to interduce the children to the cerberus in a unique way so I thought that the Room of Requirement might be fun ^^ Yup, all the kids are being honed into Slytherins: cunning, ambitious and practical. Poor old Severus lol!

    Hmmm. It looks to me that Voldemort's Horcrux (or something else left in Harry's scar) is reacting to Hissy's venom. Hopefully, it will get rid of whatever it is.

    Excellently written, as always. I look forward to the next chapter.

    Author's Response: Thanks for the review: yup, you're totally right: voldemort's soul was not part of Harry so the Basilisk's venom honed in on it immediately and destroyed it ^^

    O.K. give me a moment to get my breath back! Whew! that was an excellent chapter! So Harry's scar is gone, the horux he carried is gone and he's Bound to Hissy and Severus is wondering if he's ever going to get his heart out of his throat. Dumbledore is shocked that Hissy can go anywhere in the castle and Poppy is the epitome of a Healer. I loved the second thing she'd learned in training. A most excellent chapter! Bravissimi!

    Author's Response: Thanks ^^ I'm really glad you liked the chapter; rather fraught after a period of calm but that's how life goes ^^.  Severus is going to be feeling somewhat overwhelmed for a while, as is Harry. As the sister of an incredibly accident prone brother, I've learnt Poppy's principles by heart: get on with patching him up, then ask what he thought he was doing lol!

    I'm sorry I'm so late in reviewing this chapter but I've been busy with school and work. Thank you so much for this delightful epilogue. I really loved seeing the boys meeting their parents but the part that was the best of all was this: Whilst they wait for their treacle tart, Harry notices, for the first time, that a new set of lines have been indented into his father’s face; around Severus’ mouth, smiles have carved their signatures and the skin at the corners of his eyes is crinkled. That once pale, gaunt, anxious countenance has tanned, filled out, positively glows with happiness..." I admitthat I was crying a little at reading that description of Severus because that's how we all want to see him!

    Thanks for the review; I'm really glad you liked the epilogue- I wanted to leave the story on a high note, despite the tragedy. (Also I thought a little 'snapshots' style epilogue would echo the first chapter nicely.) I'm happy the description of Severus sounded right; I didn't want to over-do it but, I thought, showing Harry that, in adopting him, Severus' life had also changed for the better was a good way to finish :)

    This was definitely worth the wait! I really like your Tom and Lily and Sev are wonderful together. Godric is adorable and I'm glad to see the Harry is starting to see the possibilities of his new life.

    Actually, perhaps it was for the best that Tom did what Slughorn wanted him to do because if Hagrid had been left to bring in even more dangerous creatures and more than one person could have died and Hagrid would have ended up in Azkaban.

    I really like your writing style and wish I was as good at writing conversations. I'm looking forward to seeing Harry's relationships with his Mum, Severus and Tom grow and seeing Dumbledore finally get what he deserves.

    Thanks so much ^^. I'm really glad people like Tom; I wanted to try something different with his character and writing a non-psychopathic Tom is definately interesting. (Although, on the balance, things are far *more* dangerous for Harry this way, which is going to be a lot of fun!)

    I agree, Hagrid was definately a loose canon and I doubt that he would have stopped with aragog. After all, he always wanted a dragon and, I expect, Slughorn covered up for him more often than not- valuable potions ingredients could be harvested!

    I like how you had Poppy handle hte exam as wel as her consideration of Severus' sensibilities. I can just see Captain in his new eyeglasses :)

    I really loved the way that Harry defended Severus to Dumbledore and hated the way Dumbledore was talking about Sev. Thank goodness Lily was there to explain things to Harry. I admit that I was afraid that Dumbledore had put something hidden in the adoption papers that would cause problems later on. It's the sort of thing he would do, I think, given the way that you have his personality written.

    Well done!
