| Hi, my name's Harri I'm 22, British and doing a post-graduate degree at Cambridge (in the UK). I've lived all over Europe, but my first love is France and all things Francophile so that might creep into my stories. The US is my third favourite place (after France and Switzerland) I've been to only 7 states on the East Coast so far but am going across the pond again this Easter and hopefully visiting some parts of the South. Harry Potter is currently a huge part of my life! I don't know what I'll do now that JKR has finished all the books... Oh wait, i'll visit potionsandsnitches.net !!! I'm quite pedantic over spelling and grammar and am probably best described as a bit of a perfectionist (being British I will only write in British English- meaning vocab and spelling) Please correct me if you see a mistake- but not if it's just because I'm writing in a different kind of English. That's not an error, it's variety... I also will try my hardest to write as close to cannon as possible...
"Always" (my favourite line from DH)
"Un jour tu me demanderas de choisir entre ma vie et la tienne, et tu partiras sans comprendre que ma vie c'est toi" [Report This]

You write Dumbledore just as I'd imagine him to be in that situation, it is too perfect! I loved this line: "Then I'll have to leave out whole weeks all together", it had me burst out laughing. Poor Harry, he's not being very clever is he? I thought your last few sentences were fantastic... wouldn't want to be in Harry's shoes though!!!

This story manages to keep me continually interested. I thought the line "I will not give you details, as I said earlier. You neither need them nor deserve them" was especially chilling. It must be hard to write something like this but you do it so well, I just wanted to say that...

I loved this chapter- particularly Harry's inner monologue! I think has a particularly authentic tone. And the "your welcome, Potter" at the ending is so sweet in a Snapey way. I'm enjoying reading this!
Author's Response: I'm glad you're enjoying it! Writing Harry's thoughts is my favorite. It's quite fun. lol. This chapter was one where I kind of sat back and thought..."hmmm...is it too soon to make Snape seem a bit caring?"...and then I thought.."Well, yeah...better make the must as Snape-like as possible." So hopefully I accomplished that. Thanks so much for reading and reviewing! P.S. Go write a new chapter! I love your story! lol.

Longer chapters are just wonderful! I thought it was great the way Snape told Harry to "put his head down". I used to hate being told that by a teacher as a little kid! Awesome chapter! I wish only that I could write some more of my own fic, but I'm having a real struggle with it at the moment! :-)
Author's Response: Thank you! Yeah, I thought that was a bit comical myself. Hope you find time to update your story! :)

Aww, poor Harry- but it was going to happen eventually, wasn't it? This chapter is really great, and soooo long! I love it.
I think you manage to keep Snape close to character so well, this line made me laugh out loud: "Potter looked pathetic. The man was almost half-tempted to shrug him off."
Author's Response: I added that line at the very last minute this morning! lol. And yes, it was eventually going to happen, hence the warning and Harry's sporadic stupidity. Oh, well. Time to recover from it :) Thanks for the review!

I don't know if I should feel sorrier for Snape or Harry LOL. Poor Harry having such an awkward moment, and poor Snape for having his patience so tested! As always this chapter was wonderful - and leaves me on tenterhooks for the next installment! :-)
Author's Response: Yes, it was quite awkward, wasn't it? lol. Thank you so much for reading and reviewing! I'm glad you're enjoying my story :)

Good story, I read a review that mentioned something about orphanages. Well it is true there are none of them over here, and I think they were abolished about 30 years ago but not entirely sure. Obviously they must have been around at the time of Tom Riddle.... There are these things called "childrens' home" though..... Hope to read more of your story!!! :-)
Author's Response: Seeing as I am an American who really doesn't know much about other countries, I was completely unaware of that. Thanks for clarifying that confusing matter for me and I'm glad you're enjoying this so far!
