About me:

I love fics where Snape adopts or mentors Harry. But any fic that promises lots of verbal sparring between the two sounds like a good time to me.

I started writing fanfic with Buffy. I didn't get into HP fandom until HBP. I've learned a lot from this fanfic experience, particularly from reader comments. It's helped me become a better writer.

A Severitus written in a series of 100-word scenes. Warnings: bad language, friendly Slytherins, unfriendly Gryffindors (so far), more than a few cliches. Inspired by Bil's Drabble Challenge. Some word counts may be off because the site sees some formatting options as words. I'm not sure why some are counted as less than 100. Counting actual words, every chapter is exactly 100 words.

    "Why did you even come?"

Awesome. Clearly, I adore this story. :)

I'm grateful you didn't go into a explanation for his conception. That's usually the point where I give up on Severitus, as it strains my suspension of disbelief. I like that a private moment between two adults remains private.

I also like that you wrote the whole conversation without dialogue tags, and yet it was clear from the words who was speaking. Tricky to pull off, but effective and involving when you can.

    Author's Response:

Yeah, every time Snape starts explaining how Harry was conceived, I brace myself. The worst, I think, is when someone (Snape or someone else) gives so many details that it's actually kind of creepy when you consider they're talking to a teenager.

I haven't reviewed in a while, but I wanted to let you know I'm still reading! I'm curious about the friendship developing between Malfoy & Harry—real, or a ploy? And it's wonderful that, despite the word limitation, you can add descriptive details in, like cherry sodas. Keep up the excellent work!

When Harry dies as an old man, his hated childhood professor is the one who comes to take him to the after-life. Can the unlikely pair finally understand each other in death? And what if they're not actually dead?

I had to read this. The summary made me laugh with its utter simplicity. Amidst all the crazy, convoluted summaries out there (including for my own story), yours stood out.

I loved the idea you had for the challenge...having Harry get on a regular boat would be a bit boring; it was creative of you to think of the River Styx. And it was hilarious that Dumbledore sent Snape to deal with Harry even now. ;)

Constructive criticism: I would have liked to see Snape try more methods to get Harry on the boat, and the different ways that Harry squirms out of it. There was a little too much "Get in the boat"/ "No." I mean, it was cute, because it made both Harry AND Snape seem like 11-year-olds fighting: "Yes!" "No!" "Yes!" "No!" "Yes plus infinity!" But I wanted to learn more about the characters, and get an answer to the question you posed: Can Snape and Harry ever get along? Or are they always going to be oil and water, even in the afterlife? Hard to do all that in 1000 words or less, though.

Anyway, thank you so much for sharing your story! It was fun to read something so refreshingly new!
