About me:

Hi there.

I am a 55 year old mother of five grown kids and a grandmother of a beautiful 6 month old granddaughter.

I discovered fan fiction about 18 months ago, but had been writing my own stories before then. I just didn't know that there was such a huge market out there of people who like to read amateur works like mine.

Mind you, some are not so very amateur in content. There are some brilliant writers out there.

I have been obsessed with Harry Potter since buying my then 8 year old son the first three books in the series. I wasn't going to read them but a friend who loves fantasy ( and is even older than me, if you can believe that) encouraged me to do so and an addiction was born.

By the way, I come from Victoria, Australia.

I hope I can give a little bit of pleasure to a lot of people.

Thanks for reading this bio.

After Harry talks to Dumbledore in Deathly Hallows, he takes a little detour to Spinner’s End, back before it was Snape’s house, back when it belonged to a woman named Eileen Prince. Snape couldn’t be angrier that Harry is his father.

I find Severus having an elfin point to his nose rather distressing. I find it rather distressing in Lily too. I get a picture of Michael Jackson! Not good!

The new Severus doesn' really sound like he's got anything going for him in the looks department, much like the old Severus. Harry did end up being in Hermione's word, 'fanciable', after all and you described Eileen as being pretty when she smiled.

So, Sebastian Prince huh. Where did he get Sebastian from. I do like Sebastian though.

I feel Severus will have to modify his behaiour a tad if he doesn't want those few intelligent students wo work out that he is indeed, severus Snape.

    Author's Response:

Oh my God, don't do that to me, don't think him, think... Liv Tyler.  The new Severus isn't bad looking, in fact, he's moderately handsome.  A few chapters down the road, he figures out what this means, poor bas- er, dear.

The nick name for Sebastian is "Seb."

Yeah, another thing that comes into play a few chapters later.

Title: Chapter 10: Stalk, Switch, Belby, and Prince 13 Jul 2009

Hmm, very interesting ending. I wonder if any of them...read malfoy and the others will follow, will comply.

I can see Harry eventually breaking up with Ginny. He doesn't like her insulting Snape...doesn't matter that he once did the same thing with a vengeance. I know she went through hell the last year, but so did Neville and he doesn't seem to be bleating too badly about it. Sad really, I usually love Harry and Ginny but this Ginny doesn't seem very nice and Harry is too pro-Eileen. They are not on the same page.

You said in a review reply that Harry was quite powerful, but he is still fairly clueless in class...well, certainly comapred to Hermione. Of course, who isn't. It must be galling though to have to transfigure butterflies and upside glasses into potted palnts after what they have done over the last year.

I wonder if Belby is the fraud that Severus thinks. I would say yes.

Can't wait to read about the first DADA lesson with father and son in the same class.

    Lesley~

    Author's Response:

Seeing as you have the whole fic in front of you to read, you might want to stop speculating about things that are answered therein, especially as my answers are public.  I will say that I try to keep everything pretty close to canon.

Power =/= finesse.  Harry has power, and he tends to (as canon tells us) get good marks, and also eventually get the spells he's supposed to learn.  Hermione gets them a lot faster, and tends to have a lot of finesse.  Neville methinks has a lot of power and even less finesse.  Since I'm postulating that there are a lot more spells on the course curriculum than the ones we see, which is the logical conclusion to reach given Harry's growing spell knowledge throughout the books and also the sheer number of useful spells the average Hogwarts graduate knows, if Harry follows the canon pattern, he would be competent at those spells as well, especially as he's better at Charms than Transfiguration.  Harry, also, I can't see caring much.  After the war, he feels a little bit dissociated, and doesn't realize it.

Oh yes, Belby is quite the fraud.

Snape rescues Harry from the Dursleys. Because every author must write one of these. Totally AU. Kidfic. Slash. A routine check of the wards at the Dursleys residence turns into something not routine at all.

This was great. A three year old Harry would be very cute, even covered in welts and bruises.

Very long-winded review over at fanfic.net, but I forgot to mention Sirius's final thought. He has finally seen the light it would seem. About time.

And I think that Dawn is under Imperious, or she is just evil anyway.

    Les~

Author's Response: I loved your review on ffnet!  I'm so tickled and thrilled you enjoyed the chapter so much.  :o)  Yep, it's about time Sirius sees the light.  I've been waiting forever while everyone bashed him.  LOL Dawn...we shall see about her.

Oh, Tabitha, thank you so much for your thank you...that's a lot of thank yous...but I am sure I can speak for Cathy as well as myself when I say that we were very glad we could help a friend. I am always available either for a chat, or of course, you can e-mail me.

And what a wondeful job you did too. I loved the start set in the past. It was lovely seeing just how close a friend--I would say almost a brother and as close as Sirius--James has become to Sev. I know Sev was acting for all those present and that he would not be as free and easy with his emotions as James is, but it is obvious that there is a vlose connection there.

But poor Siri. He is sooo very jealous. James is quite right that he has not grown up. His horrible family really are responsible for Siri's own prejudices. He was even bitter towards the peacemaker, Remy.

It was lovely that Harry could enjoy this particular moment in the spot light--being whispered about and pointed at for all the right reasons this time. Poor Sev, being overloaded with those feelings of pleasure. Even Remy was surprised.

I'm glad Ginny was keeping a gimlet eye on the blonde Hufflepuff...she'll have to keep a close eye on her man for a while I imagine. Some of the more forward young witches may wait in ambush for their very cute hero.

I wonder what Sev has done that he can say with such assurance that that Skeeter woman will not be writing any more articles.

And Scrimgoeur was just as nauseating as I thought he would be. Sanctimonious so and so. Yay for HArry, sticking to his guns like that. Why was the house in Lily's name and left to HArry? Did Sev and Lily decide to do that when they bought the property. Or was GH James? I can't remember.

But I can see Scrimgoeur pulling a shifty as far as Harry's name goes. Will he have banners made up with 'Harry Potter, our Hero' or some such thing written on them. And I wish Harry had insisted that all the Weasleys, Hermione, Remus and Tonks be invited, and that Ginny sit at the head table with him and Sev. Maybe he will while making the arrangements with Percy. Surely the guest of honour can have some say as to the guest list.

Once again Tabitha, thank you for your wonderful effort. I know it has been far from easy but if this is what you can produce when the chips are down--and the chips are down for all of us at some time or other--then this definitely makes you an awesome writer.

    Thank you,

    ~Lesley~

    Author's Response:

Thanks again, Lesley.  You were a good cheering squad. LOL  :oD

Glad you enjoyed the flashback.  Well, Severus did say once that James had become like a brother to him.  And he definitely means just as much to him as Sirius does at this point, but oh poor Sirius is right!  The guy (as well as Remus) is totally left out in the cold and the dark.  Sirius has a lot of issues, curtesy of his family, it's true.  We shall see those crop up again, I'm afraid.  *snif*

Harry did enjoy the spotlight, didn't he?  Well, there's many more spotlight moments coming up, so we'll see how our Harry does.

LOL  Poor Ginny  I think Harry is in for lots of girls vying for his attention.  I'm not too sure Harry gets what the blonde and her friends were aiming for, but hopefully it won't take too long for hiim to figure it out.  Hmmm...

Don't worry.  When Sev means business, he means business.  LOL

They had to have it in Lily's name as it wouldn't look right to have it in both names as they were hiding their marriage and so when she died, it got passed to Harry legally.  I'm glad you enjoyed Harry sticking up for Dad.  He's very protective, that boy. Isn't it lovely how it goes both ways?  :oP

'pulling a shifty'....I love the way you talk.  Much more fun than American English.  You'll have to wait and see about Scrimgeour but one thing's for sure...he better not cross Severus Snape.  Don't worry, I didn't want to bore you with all the details, but rest assured, Harry's crowd will be there.  Harry wouldnt' have it any other way!

Thanks for the review, Lesley and thanks so much for being my ear those couple nights.  I needed it.  :o)

Very nice. I think it is obvious that Sirius was nto the angry phantom waving the icicle about on the other side, not if he could greet remus with such wholehearted and obvious affection. So it will be the three of them to the rescue.

My heart bleeds for them all...Harry lying on the cold stone floor with Ginny holding his hand and DD snd Poppy keeping watch. And severus prepared to give up his life for his son...Remus too, I suppose as his life has taken such a down turn.

Big question...when they have done their job, with Sirius's help, wiil Sirius be able to go back with them?

    Thanks Tabitha.

    ~Lesley~

    Author's Response:

Well, well, well, Les...  You'll just have to wait and see about Sirius being able to go back with Remus and Severus.  *evil laughter*

It is a very dismal picture I've painted, isn't it?  But hey, I love the angst.  Thanks for reviewing and I am so happy you liked the chapter!  :o)

Title: Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Maniacal 17 Jun 2008

You've done it again! Left us hanging by our fingertips. I feel like I have just been thrown backwards with Severus.

I have to admit, I definitely don't understand how Remus is seeing or sensing Tonks all of a sudden, other than in that she would always be close to him mentally,. Or maybe its not just people's bodies that end up in this other place. Maybe lost dreams end up there too.

I thought it was a bit sad when Remus told siri that Sev would do everything in his power to get Harry back, and then he growled at Sev to confirm it and Sev thought it was just as well for Remus that he had secured himself in the last few months as one of Harry's closest friends. He is still fighting having any kind of feelings for Remus himself, isn't he? He jsut will not admit it to himself. And poor Remy having to be the middle man between these twwo bitter enemies and having to lie, or at least withhold the truth from a dear old friend.

I wonder will either back down...will either soften. I don't believe that Sirius will turn against Harry when he finds out he is not James son. He will be angry and jealous that James kept him in the dark and that James had become close to Severus, but he will not shun Harry. He will also be jealous of Remus's rlationship with Severus.

This is a horrible place that poor Sirius has ended up. It is very like the old catholic doctrine of limbo. Nothingness...you can't go forward and you can't go back.

I could feel Sev's anguish at how much time they were taking, how long he had been severed from Harry. And poor Harry is still resting on that cold, stone floor.

Though a sense of time seems to be distorted in there. Sirius had no idea how long had passed.

Perhaps something will happen with Moldywart that makes the three of them draw together to save Harry. Perhaps whatever that is, it will banish past hatred and resentment.

It also seems that they don't think they will be able to bring Sirius back with them, but I wonder if something will happen to make that possible.

More speculation. Glad you're writing this story and not me, Tab.

I will finish with the ubiquitous...please update soon.

    ~Lesley~

    Author's Response:

Remus wasn't sensing Tonks.  All of them were seeing things they wanted the most.  And Remus wants Tonks back.

Yeah, Severus is still fighting against Remus' friendship...probably even more in these last minutes because he sees the friendship between Sirius and Remus.  Sev has a little problem with jealousy.  So does Sirius.  LOL

Yep, sirius is in a very sad state indeed.  He's nowhere and in nothing.  Poor man.

They do need to find some way to work together to save Harry, but will it end there?  Probably. I can't really see them falling into each other's arms with remorse and love.

Hee hee.  I have fun with all the uncertainty.  Everything could definitely go either way.  Yep.  Glad you're intrigued though, Les!  Thanks for such a great review and all your ponderings.  :o)

Title: Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Betrayal 21 Jun 2008
Reviewer: wrappedinharry (Signed)
Oh, it bloody happened again. My review was nullified. So here it is again but it won't be anywhere near as comprehensive as the first one.

As usual, it was brilliant. You paint such a wonderful picture with your other worldly or mind scenes. I wouldn't even attempt it. Your visuals really grip me by the heartstrings.

The vision of Harry lying at those yellow nailed feet is truly horrendous. It is bad enough that the poor kid is lying bound on the cold, icy floor in that cavern, but to be so close to the feet of the person who is the very definition of hell, is heartbreaking.

I can imagine what that vision would do to our three heros.

Way to go, Remus. I wonder what it was that pulled him back far enough to realise that what he was seeing was false. I read it twice, but other than Tonks fading away, I can't really work it out. I could see of course after he was pulled back far enough that the vision of Sirius and Severus being so much in accord with the ultra happy Harry between them was just too unbelievable to contemplate. And that is sad. It is probably the thing that Remus would wish for the most, after getting Harry back alive and then getting his own real life back into gear with Tonks back in his arms.

Poor Remus. It breaks my heart.

Wonderful chapter, horrible cliffie. But I don't for an instant think that Sirius will reject HArry. He will be shocked and disbelieving. He will rail at James as much as Severus, and
remus also for not telling him straight away.

But it is going to need the three of them to get Harry out of there and though they will never be friends, for HArry I think they will be able to tolerate the other's presence in Harry's life. That is considering that Sirius can come back. But if he can't, poor Harry, (and Remus) has to mourn Padfoots loss all over again.

I always felt sorry for Remus that he was always second best with every one in canon. He was James second best friend. He was Sirius's second best friend. He wasn't Harry's god father and though HArry had known him longer than he had known Sirius, he didn't feel the same for Remus as he did for Sirius. And I know that is all entirely off the point, but I had to get it off my chest. I suppose what i'm saying is that if Sirius can come back, Remus will be relegated to a lower position in Harry's affections again

Can't wait for the next update...that goes without saying. I am going to go and have a cup of tea and try to lower my stress levels while I begin the (not too long, please) wait for the update.
I know you Tab. You won't keep us hanging for too long.

    ~Lesley~

    Author's Response:

Thanks Les!  I'm glad you like my mind/other worldly scenes.  I can't seem to get away from the mental.  I love the mind.  LOL

Remus, unlike Sev and Sirius is already more grounded.  Severus was so desperate that Harry not want Sirius, that he exactly what he wanted to see.  Black wants the chance to despeately to have Harry again and to leave the void and be a free man, that he is blinded by that.  Again, seeing what he wants to see.  What Remus wants to see, he knows that he can't see.  He wishes Sev and Sirius could get along, but he knows it is very unlikely, so it's easier to see when you're not desperate that something doesn't quite make sesnse.

If Sirius does get to come back, it won't be the same as it was before Sirius was lost, I mean about Remus coming second. Remus has proven to Harry that he is someone worth hanging onto; he is someone Harry can count on.  He has been there through so many important things, that I don't think Harry will ever let Remus be second best to anyone.  Sure, he loves Sirius dearly, but it won't be the same.  It can't be.  How hard that is.

You'll have to wait and see what Sirius' reaction is.  How I love that man.  LOL

The idea of Sev and Sirius as friends IS pretty unbelievable, I'll give you that.  LOL

Title: Chapter 11: Chapter 11: Reparations 27 Jun 2008

What caused Voldy's soul to disappear? Well, I thought it was HArry turning away from him and chosing Severus, but as he is still hiding and distrustful, I am not so sure. Still, he distrusts Sev's feelings for him; he still loves Sev and that is why his hurt is so profound.

Then again, it could be that when Volde coiled closer to Sev who had just said he would sacrifice himself for the son he loves unequivocally, Voldes soul might just have been banished because he could not atand to be in the presence of that kind of shining love. Just as he had not been able to possess Harry when Harry thought of Sirius in the Dept. of Mysteries.

And does any of that rambling make sense?

Harry is back with Sev, but he needs to be be convinced that Sev loves him as much as he ever said he did.

More waffling. Will stop now before I tie myself into even more knots.

I think Sev is going to have to be the one to convince Sirius to try to go back with them. And Sev may just be able to do that as it will show Harry just how much he does love him. He loves him to the extent that he would even be willing to put up with Sirius Black again.

I need hardly point out that this cliffie is even more of a precipice than the last one was.

    Great job,

    Lesley

Author's Response: Ding, ding, ding!  The intended sacrifice did it!  Chocolate frogs for you.  And yes, your rambling makes sense, though it really isn't rambling at all.  Sirius is at a rough place right now.  You'll have to wait and see for that one.  And yep, I know I am giving out lots of evil cliffies lately.  I'll stop soon, don't worry.  LOL  Oh, and I haven't talked to you in forever.  I pinged you the other day.  Where ya been?  :o)

That was bloody brilliant, Tab. You have made so many of your faithful followers delighted with the return of Sirius...of course, the fact that he is featured on the banner was a big give away to me, but with you, you can never be one hundred percent sure.

I loved this chapter sooo much. Sev, And Sirius were both hreatbreaking, REmus was just so sad and Ginny was absolutely brilliant.

One parallel I think, is that in LC, Harry had his head down on Sev's chest and was nearly eaten up by despair that his father would never come back. Here, Sev is despairing that he will never have his son back because he thinks he will lose him to Sirius.

It's wonderful that Sirius feels just as strongly towards HArry now that he knws he is Sev's child and not JAmes. Though I defy anyone who loves Harry to be able to turn their back on him for any reason.

I feel sorry for Remus though. It is all about Sev and Sirius and their battle for Harry's love. And yet, Remus explained things calmly, knowing that he would now be further down the list of those who are important to Harry, and knowing that he has to face his terrible real life problems now.

As for the Gift...well it might be that Sev is willing to 'gift' Harry to Sirius if it will make Harry happy. Or it could also mean that Sirius is a gift for Harry. (Are those two the same thing?)

Anyway, another wonderful chapter...my fave, I think. You wouldn't be able to tell by this effort that you are having trouble with The Gift. If that's trouble, kep it coming, I say!

    ~Lesley~

    Author's Response:

Thanks, Les!  Wow, your favorite chappy?  Cool.  I am pretty pleased with the return of Sirius.  We are going to have lots of fun.  The banner was a give-away?  *innocent smile*  LOL

You nailed the parralel, Lesley but then you are so brilliant, I'm not really surprised.  :oD  The head down on the chest thing was just what I was going for.  The despair was the same for both of them.

And yep, Sirius is not about to give up on Harry.  No matter whose son he is, though I think back in that void, it hadn't really sunk in.  Everything's about to get a lot stickier, though I do agree, that is is very hard not to love Harry.

Remus...you'll have to wait to see about him.  He's going to be in for a ride, let me tell you.  :o)

Well, one of the meanings of Gift does have to do with Sirius, but it's more that he was given the gift of a second chance at life.  The life he was denied because of Voldemort.

Thanks so much, Lesley.  I'm glad you're still enjoying it so much.  And thanks for the review.  :o)
