Absolutely loved the birds and the bees talk. Or should that be the "mortar and the pestle" instead? I mean really, could poor Harry be any more embarrassed? And when Snape offered to teach Ginny the charm as well... seriously LOL moment there. Whatever are you going to do with Malfoy? He's so (understandably) touchy about his father. Especially with Harry. Well done again. Thanks for another great chapter! Author's Response: LOL I love your speculations, but I'll just let you continue to speculate... ;o) Glad you loved the Talk. It was incredibly fun to write! LOL 'mortar and pestle'--I love it! Nah, I don't think Harry could have been any more embarrassed. Poor kid, but hey at least he's got someone to actually have the Talk with now. *shrugs* LOL Yeah, and seriously, he'll probably need to teach Ginny that Charm as Molly's not so likely to do it. Hee hee. Malfoy...ah, Malfoy. He's up next. That kid is just twisted all up inside. Doesn't know up from down anymore. Harry tried to help though, at least extended that tentative arm of friendship. Thanks so much for the review. I'm so happy you liked it! :o)
Adt this point, I really should be accustomed to the fact that I am going to cry whenever I read a LC update. I loved that Lily showed up when they were casting the charm again. What a beautifully perfect touch. Not only does Harry need to want to live so does Severus. Hopefully he'll see that in time. Author's Response: Hope! Yay for hope. :o) I'm glad you cry. I love it! LOL I love Lily so she sorta permeates through everything. Yep, they have to both want to live. Let's hope they get it! Thanks for the review.
My favorite quote this time is “Your children will be Snapes.” Spoken almost as a throw-away line in a movie it says so much about the change in both men's attitudes not only with each other but as it relates to the hope they have for the future. My second favorite line was “Tobias was sir. I detest the title." This made me smile because my father has always hated being called "Mr. _____" He still tells people that "me father was Mr., I'm just Art. So in addition to being a comment on his upbringing, to me Snape's comment sounded like a "Father" thing to say. Author's Response: I'm glad you liked the profound bit in the title. I liked your visualizations of all of them being chess pieces. That's so true. Everyone is getting themselves ready. The entire name change and birth certificate were very poignant to me. It signifies so much and it's almost like a rebirth for Harry. And I'm so happy you liked that line. It does say so much about how much things have changed. And especially about Severus' attitude about the outcome of the showdown with Voldemort. And Harry's perspective changes right along with him... I love that you liked the 'sir' line. It was a very father thing to say and he's been wanting to put into words for so long how he felt about that particular title. Thanks so much for your review. I'm so glad you're still enjoying the story, especially as we approach the end. :o)
Comments - Sev stayed in the room with Harry? How wonderful. I'm glad that Harry told his Father about the sorting hat. So, Sev wanted Harry in his house even then? Doggone that Malfoy anyways! Oh yeah, and I guess Hagrid telling him about Voldy wouldn't have helped though, would it? These two boys just aren't meant to have an easy time of it, are they? Well (hopefully) once Voldy's gone they'll be able to live "normal" lives. Assuming that they both live. Because I don't think either one will ever be able to be happy if the other doesn't survive. They need each other too much right now. And that was true even before the mind-link. Author's Response: Well, the chapter has to end somewhere, doesn't it? ;o) Yep, Severus stayed. He didn't really want to leave anyway. Yeah, even though Severus had effectively buried his son all those years ago, there was a niggling of hope and I think if he would have grasped onto it if Harry would have been sorted into Slytherin. The Gryffindor was the final nail in the coffin. I agree. Neither will be able to happy if they both don't make it through. *sigh* Thanks for the review. :o)
I absolutely loved the "battle of the minds" in this chapter. Everything was abstract yet at the same time, not. You really had me worried when Harry started to succumb to his fears. (So typically Harry - everything is always his fault) But Severus did a wonderful job of pulling his son back to his side again. Hmmm, a peaceful mist, huh? Oh please, please, please tell me they're going to get to see Lily at least for a little while. :-) Eagerly awaiting the next chapter of this wonderful saga. Thanks!!!!! Author's Response: Thanks so much, Cee Cee! (love your name!) I'm so thrilled you enjoyed the mind battle here. It was extremely fun to write. It was sorta like writing poety, I found. Harry takes on way too much, just like Severus said at the Cottage before they left. But yeah, Severus was right there for him as always. A peacefulu mist. You'll just have to wait and see where they're going... Thanks so much for the lovely review and I'm so happy you enjoyed it so much! :o)
"Author! Author!" Exceedingly well done OE. And the reminder that Severus was taking Harry home and that Ginny was waiting for him was just so right. Thank you for Draco/Tonks and the Simulated Death Spell. So, Lucius stayed trustworthy but Draco caved, eh? Have to admit, I like that twist. Poor Harry and Severus now have to deal with Scrimgeour and Rita. Yikes. I'm looking forward to the sequel. Thank you for such a wonderful ride. Author's Response: Thanks, Cee Cee! *blushes* I'm so happ you liked the final chapter. YAY I really really wanted Harry and Sev to go beyond the veil there, to just have a chat with Lily and James, but alas it wasn't to be. My muses had other ideas. :oP Glad you liked what they did. And nope, I could never kill my Remus. I love him tooooo much. :o) Lucius was good. Draco...not so much. But he is just a little kid/prat, so what can you expect. Hee hee. Yep, these boys have so much to deal with. But Voldy's dead so it can't be too bad, right? :oP Thanks so much for all your beatiful reviews. And thanks for beign so excited about this and the sequel! Thirteen-year-old Harry is forced into the body of another Harry in a parallel world, where Snape adopted him years ago. And Snape is enraged to discover that his son has been replaced by a stranger. In our world, Snape discovers a new Harry--one who sees him as a father he never wanted to be. Each Harry must learn to survive in a strange new world, and search for a way home.

Author's Response: He's had a bit of a reality check. But he hasn't given up on Snape completely. Thank you for the review!
Thank you for such a poignant chapter. Author's Response: I'm glad you enjoyed it. But please let me know if it ever veers out of poignant and into "please pass the razor blades and vodka." :) Thank you for your review!
Is this because, for her, it will be the first time of hearing it and so he can never really get closure on the past? Or am I reading way too much into those few sentences? What a great idea to force veritaserum so Harry can't help but tell the truth. I think that Snape will also be learning more than he really wants to know tonight. Thanks for the great update. Author's Response:
"Is this because, for her, it will be the first time of hearing it and so he can never really get closure on the past?" Yes, exactly. She cannot remember the previous times he's told her, so it's difficult for both of them every time. His only consolation is that, even though she knows she'll forget again, she never leaves him. Yes, I know: angst. :)
I had dreaded Other Harry's experience with the Dursley's and it seems it was for good reason. Although watching him trying to bluff was quite entertaining. Your description of the wedding was so beautifully and heartbreakingly vivid. Yet I must admit that Harry rubbing Snape's back and remembering the time he had to leave Snape sitting at the table all alone were the most powerful scenes for me. Thank you for the update. Author's Response: The passwords were inspired by the bizarre description of Snape's home in HBP. Seriously, why DOES he need a secret entrance to every room in his house? I liked how Harry rubs his back but knows better than to suggest that Severus might be on the verge of tears. Harry leaving Snape alone at the table still gets to me. Just...the guilt, and Severus clearly feeling that he shouldn't be a barrier between his wife and son, even though it hurts him...so much angsty goodness. :) |
