Harry receives a very special gift on his 16th birthday that leads him to the help he needs...Snape is finding respite from his growing pressures and discovers one in need of help. Despite himself, he finds he CAN grow close to another living being. Only..."everything would've been so much simpler if it'd actually been a cat"...

I really hope the confusion about Remus gets sorted out soon. Poor Harry. I bet Harry can do something to help Snape. (Crossing fingers, pressing thumbs, and whatever other luck inducer I can think of.) Thanks for the update. K Author's Response: Don't worry, the confusion will get sorted out. That's the way it will be you have to worry about actually ;-) Well Harry is gonna try to do something, anyway...
This, of course, is making my coworkers give me funny looks. The transformation of the mark is amazing. Severus' response to it is entirely accurate. Your ongoing saga is fabulous in how it shows how these two people, both terrified of being left alone (and reacting to that fear in their own similar ways--hiding and striking out), gradually learn to get over themselves and be there for each other. (And how's that for a convoluted sentence!) Good job! Author's Response: Thank you very much ! 'hi' to your coworkers ;-) I'm really glad you're enjoying it, this story has been my main 'personal production' in the past years, and it means a lot to me that people enjoy it !
and... "Pinch me, ... is he suckling at your robes?" You have a way with these characters that is truly fabulous. I am glad the issue of paternity has come out, and is now all clear... well... mostly. Brilliant chapter. Author's Response: thank you ;-) I think it will be clearer for Harry once he is sobber lol !
And Lucius! Da-Da-Da-Duuummmm. I really want to know what is happening next with him! I love that harry is subconsciously calling for Snape. And snape is being so great about it, not snarling at Harry for the pain, just quietly being there. It must be reassuring to Snape when Harry is being so hot and cold, that he can FEEL Harry's need, even if Harry won't admit it, and even if it is painful. Harry will be both chagrinned that he is causing Snape pain and embarrased at being laid bare like that. And probably a little pleased that Snape knows how much le loves and needs him. Can't wait to read more. K Author's Response: Thank you very much! Remus is going to have a hard time with his newfound son, that's for sure! You're right, the mark and its powers are both a nuisance and a good thing; but as for how Harry will take it...? One thing is sure, Snape is not in a hurry to tell him...
Bouncing around happily... K Author's Response: thank you very much, I loved playing with them :-)
I'm so glad to get an update to one of my favourite stories. YAY! Author's Response: glad you like it ;-)
I loved Harry and Lily calling for a Lullabye. And the chaos regarding the adoption... yes. Severus is so wonderfully protective. Every time he says "...y cat" (Here: "You're going to upset my cat.") I get shivers of joy. And Now Moody knows about the new Mark. I love how you are weaving that in over and over again, so we get to see how it manifests in Snape's life... until, at some point Harry will find out. THAT will be something. Loving that plot thread. A few typos: With one last furious look for Snape should probably be ...furious look AT Snape. Also, ""Yeah, but I'm come back and talk to you about it later." Should be either I'll come back or I'm coming back. And there is a "liekly" that needs to be "likely" as well. Nothing to stop my enjoyment of your marvellous story, however. Thank you for updating!!! K Author's Response: Oh Severus IS very possessive too, that's his cat all right ;-) You can bet that Harry finding out about the mark will be quite something. That's not easy on Snape, but Harry? I will try to correct the typos, thanks for pointing out !
This is getting more and more involved, and I can't wait to see how it all plays out. I love that Severus is getting to see what other people think of him... now if he only believes it. Thanks for posting. Now I only have to wait (and wait) to find out what plot Lucius has brewing... Author's Response: eheh, I hate cliffanghers in other stories, but I love to writte some! Lucius is actually being a very bad boy...
Lovely chapter... I loved the interaction between Snape and Harry, especially with the Crystal. (So, despite what naysayers you have had in France, I liked the crystal scene.) I do hope Draco can grow and change, now that he is out of the shadow and control of his father (we hope). Snape may have it wrong when it comes to Harry's reaction to the mark. I'm not sure if he is afraid that Harry will use it to control him (Harry is not above an attempt at manipulation, but I think he would be horrified at the thought that he could control Snape that way), or if Harry would be distressed and think that Snape is only caring for him because he is under Harry's sway (which we can plainly see is not true)... But I think Harry is more understanding and generous, and so long as there are no misunderstandings (fat chance), Harry will not turn from Snape because of the Mark. (Whew, long sentence! Blame it on my time in Germany. If it were in my fiction, I'd have to edit it. (grin)) Looking forward to the next chapter! Author's Response: Thank you very much! It seems that the English readers have different opinions indeed ;-) Draco will have a lot of issues to face. Actually I don't like Draco as a caracter, and I intend to keep him canon as much as possible: he can do some good, but he is a hell of a spoiled child! Snape knows that Harry won't use the mark to control him, what frightens him is the huge responsability it implies, and the fact that, as a father, he would suddenly find himself in a bad position. Though Harry certainly won't turn away from him for that, it would sure complicate their relationship a lot! Thirteen-year-old Harry is forced into the body of another Harry in a parallel world, where Snape adopted him years ago. And Snape is enraged to discover that his son has been replaced by a stranger. In our world, Snape discovers a new Harry--one who sees him as a father he never wanted to be. Each Harry must learn to survive in a strange new world, and search for a way home.

The characters are so lovely, in character, and changing due to events in the story. I love monkey Harry. So that is what Harry would be like with a dad, a Slytherin dad, who loved him. Oh, Well done! (Putting on my best Oliver Twist voice: Please, can I have some more?) Author's Response: Thank you! :) It's wonderful when people get pulled into my story so deeply. I think the differences between the two Harrys, and the evolution of the canon characters, are saying something about the effect of love. How can I deny an Oliver Twist voice? :) I'm working on more right now. |
