Harry is already finding fourth year stressful, but then McGonagall informs him that as a champion, he has to have a date to the Ball. The problem is that Harry's not the least bit interested – in anyone – and he can't seem to find a way out of it.

I was more inexperienced when I started to write Sprial of Trust than when I wrote Surgery, but I hope you will enjoy the story anyway, I'm very attached to it as being my first story. Dumbledore told Harry that he wanted him to let Slughorn collect him. But Harry soon learns that being collected by Slughorn really means. Will he be able to save himself or will he succumb to the man for the greater good? And what does Severus have to do with it all? Was he too 'collected' by Slughorn and will he be able to save Harry before it's too late?

- The summary practically emitted angst, sadness, and bad intentions, so I was, of course, immediately drawn in. ^_^
There were a few typos, like the quotation marks in a few sentences. There was a " in front of a non-verbal statement, and a ' instead of " in front of something Ron said.
I think it's a little odd that Snape did come to Dumbledore with his issue with Slughorn. I don't really see him as the type to tell someone that he was mistreated like that, I'd think he'd handle the issue himself. I'm excited to see how Snape will respond once he sees Slughorn hasn't changed in his ways and how Harry will be affected. Very intriguing first chapter! :) Thank you for sharing!

Lockart wipes Harry's memory. Along the way of regaining it, he gets access to a memory his magic had suppressed. Because of it, Harry is desperate not to return to the Dursleys, but Dumbledore won't listen - so Harry has to make his own escape. Come along to the bumpy ride of Harry trying to find what he wished for most in this world. Completed (11 chapters)! Severitus-ish!
