Harry wants more than anything to be more like his father. In an attempt to change himself something goes wrong and he ends up in the care of his hated Potions Master. Can they form the bond Harry has longed for his whole life?

- harry really doesn't know how tiring looking after a pet can be, i hope it doesn't rain to much as harry won't like taking the dog for walks

- nice idea for harry having summer in his room but oh such a wrong move, puppies love to chew anything and everything and they can't control their bladders at all well, which harry found out. i hope sev isn't to hard on harry as in harrys mind summer was crying and he was only trying to comfort her
Author's Response: Yes, but now hopefully he knows better and Severus will make sure the puppy stays out of there.

- great chapter but summer needs constant supervising, like a young child does all summer really needs is a bit of training and discipline, i think severus is right in what he is doing with summer and yes harry needs help in looking after her.
i've decided that if ever i get any pets, i'm going to stick with cats and if i ever get a dog, i won't get a puppy

That's true of any dog, they have the attention span of a two-year-old as well when they're young, and require a lot of patience and time to train well. I used to train dogs, my own and other people's and sometimes it's harder to train the owner than the dog . . .if you know what I mean!
I also love cats though, and they can be a lot of fun too.
Summer is based upon several real dogs I and my friends have owned, and I would suggest an older dog if you don;t have the time to deal with the antics of a puppy.

- poor harry and ron, they were having such a good time until the disaster called summer decided to have an hour of fun, all that hard work of sev and matt doing the charts only for them to be destroyed and to top it all summer eats a whole box of chocs and now has the runs and i hope they don't have to take her to the vet as they are expensive as i found out when i owned a cat some years ago.

yes, Summer is really a mischievous scamp, like my own dog when he was a puppy. I don't know how I survived . . .LOL!
And vets can be expensive, mine had to have surgery once and Lord . . .I nearly passed out when I saw the bill! But I loved my cat, so i paid it.

Author's Response: That's an excellent piece of advice, for anyone who has a pet. Chocolate is poisonous to cats as well. Summer's a sweet dog, even if she does tend to drive Sev crazy.

- great chapter, poor summer howling over nothing and keeping the snapes/potters up, well done sev in finding a remedy for the situation.

- a very well written chapter, summer is one dog who likes to chew and she sure picked the wrong item to chew, but i do blame sev partially as he should of put his wand somewhere where summer couldn't of reached. i hope they find summer as harry will be very upset if they don't and matt won't be to happy either.

- compared to shadows this was light relief and i loved it, can't wait for more fics from you, anyway getting back to the fic reviewing thingy, glad summer was found safe and sound, remus certainly helped out, the snape household will bevery quiet now summer isn't there

Thanks, this was a relief for me to writetoo, too much angst and depression and I get depressed myself. Yes, the Snape household will be quiet, at least until Harry gets into mischief again.

Harry is getting abused by his relatives. When Snape and his wife find out about it, they adopt him. So now he has two little twin brothers and a caring family to cope with.

- i like the pace of this story, some fics i have read are rushed or seem to be, you tell the story in a nice fashion and give alot of details about the characters and everything, so carry on at this nice pace as its a great fic

I'm very glad that you like the pace of this story. I was worried because this site is only for people who love Severus and Harry interactions. I felt it was necessary to let Severus out of some chapters to give the other characters a chance to intoduce themselve. Severus is still one of the two mean characters, but I fear that the readers here will be to impatient to wait. :( The next chapter will still be without Severus but than he will be there again for every chapter (as long as I can plan now)! The next chapter is ready to submit but I hold it back because someone already made clear that he/she is waiting for more Snape/Harry interactions. So maybe it is better to wait until I get the chapter, where Severus will appear again, back from my beta, so that I can submit chapter 11 and 12 shortly behind each other. I would hate to get flames for submitting chapters without Professor Snape here and hope that I can avoid it this way.
I'm very glad about your possitive review. It calmed my nerves a little.
