- i like this story so far... the scene w/ catherine seems nice but maybe a little weird that she asked that right away... but i dunno, sometimes that happens in orphanages...

After the Dobby incident at the beginning of the second book, Harry runs away, and Snape kidnaps him. In an old-fashioned house with no comforts and a huge black dog, Harry finds himself at Snape's mercy as Snape plays mind games and makes Harry live through different scenarios. Though Snape seems crazy and psychotic, Harry begins to see reasons behind Snape's sporadic behavior.
There is corporal punishment, but it is different from what I've written before. This is a Mean!Snape story for the most part. If you're looking for a cuddly story, go elsewhere please.

- I think it would probably be prudent for you to know that most people put thoughts in itallics rather than single quotes. It makes it easier to distinguish the thoughts from the rest of the story. Single quotes can easily be missed.
Severus Snape was fully prepared to hate Lily Potter's son. That was, before, the Sorting Hat cast them into a nightmare. It was only the beginning of a world gone mad.

- this story is very dark. it is more chilling than the fluff i usually read. i am intrigued. have you ever heard of a happy ending?
Harry receives a very special gift on his 16th birthday that leads him to the help he needs...Snape is finding respite from his growing pressures and discovers one in need of help. Despite himself, he finds he CAN grow close to another living being. Only..."everything would've been so much simpler if it'd actually been a cat"...
