Hey Y'all,

I'm Lizzie, a computer science college student who is slowly going insane with all of the schoolwork I have to do, but who loves Harry Potter with a passion.

My user name, just in case you are wondering is pronunced LAY-lee-Uh. I got the name from an old (by now) Star Wars book, and then modified it slightly. ;-}

My favorite character is probably Severus, followed closely by a "good" Draco.

I love Severus/Lily fics, young Harry and Sev fics (father and guardian) and creature fics.

Two of the best creature fics that I have found are Cub by Jadie which is about Sev and Harry being sphinx and is absolutely incredible.

The other story is Changes by SilverWolf7 which is about our favorite professor trying to guide his son as his son begins to become a vampire. This story badly needs a sequel, it is just too good. ;-}

One of my all-time favorite stories though has to be The Better Man by Laume. It asks the question of what would have happened if Sev hadn’t gone over to the Dark Lord’s side. And features many elements that I haven’t seen in other stories such as; good Dursleys, Harry and Dudley growing up as brothers, and a magic Dudley (okay, I have seen the last one before, but only in one other story).

I am mostly a lurker, but I love to write, it's just that I will get halfway through a story and get stuck. I also don't think that my stories are all that good; I may post one someday... I finally posted a story! It is Not Quite so Terrible, and I wrote it for Prompt Fest 2009. Please take a look at it and let me know what you think.

I have had several people ask me to continue Not Quite so Terrible, so I’m going to give it a shot and try to keep it going. If anyone has a scene or idea of something that they would like me to include in one of the chapters, please message me and let me know.

    Oh Wow!

    I was so sad to see Know Thyself end. This whole story is so wonderful. Please don't ever stop writing. ;-}

    Okay now for the review:
    I loved Harry pretending to be someone else at the beginning, that was so funny.
    And when Harry brought out the book and was showing it to the others, their reactions were so perfect. I think that you managed to get each of their characters perfectly. I especially liked Ron and Hermione's reactions. I loved that Ron and Nev. knew exactly what the book was. Most people forget that Ron is a prueblood, and would know a lot of things about the older families.
    Hermione's reaction was wonderful too. I could just see what she was thinking, 'Oh an old book, I want to read it.' ;-}

    It is a really great story and I can't wait to find out what Severus has in mind for Harry and what on earth is chewing on Shadow's ankle. ;-}

    I love it!!

    You have created a wonderful story here, and I can't wait to read more of it. ;-}

    I love how Hagrid watches out for Severus and all. Most people write him as really really dim, but you have expanded his character incredibly. I love that he can see the "injured" students and tries so hard to help them.

    I also love how you have charectorized Severus. He isn't just "the greasy bat of the dunguns", he has other faces than just that one. And I love that you are writing like you are.
    Don't Stop.

    As for Malfoy & Co.'s punishment, maybe something that will make a lasting impression. 10,000 lines each, detention every night for the next year, and perhaps expulsion from the quiditich team. After all, they not only broke into their professor (and Head of House)'s office and stole ingredients and a cauldron, but they also nearly killed said Head's new familiar.
    Needless to say revenge will be sweet for Severus. ;-}

    All in all, the whole story is absolutely brilliant! ;-}

    I wanted to have Hagrid in a different light, I always thought there was more to him than the bumbling gamekeeper, know what I mean? After all, he was once a wizard too.  I figured him being a kind of mentor to the hurt and outcast students made sense, he's the kind of perosn to see good in monsters and try and help them, so it would be easy for him to see a student in emotional pain and help them too.  And God knew Severus needed him and so does Harry. 

    I love showing the secret side of Snape, it's like opening a fortune cookie, you neve rknow what kind of emotion he'll reveal next. 

    True, very true, and I'll consider carefully what kind of punishments they ought to get.  Severus would agree with you!

    Oh, I'm sorry you're sick. I hope that you feel better really soon.

    As in all of your stories, another brilliant chapter.
    I loved Severus and Harry!Hawk conversing. I often will talk to my pets, and have wondered what they might say to me if they had the ability to communicate with me. You did a wonderful job of bringing a voice to a beautiful creature. ;-}

    I also love the bits of falconry that you are putting in. I love this subject, and would love to have the privledge of owning one of these magnificant creatures, but it is illegal to own creatures that one can find in the wild where I live. So I have to content myself with reading everything that I can find on them. :-}
    Needless to say I was thrilled when I found your story and how much effort and research I can tell you are putting into it.

    I can't wait for the next installment. ;-}
    And speaking of next installments... you said something about possible sequels for Arms of a Dark Angel and Heir to Snape Manor, are there any ideas for these or are they just on the shelf for right now? I was just wondering because I love these stories and would love to see them continued. ;-}

    So have I.  I always used to wish I was Dr. DoLittle when I was a kid, talking with animals seemed so darn cool!

    It's illegal here in NJ too, unless you have a license and to get one you need to pay big bucks and take all these courses and have certain types of housing and everything, which I'm not rich enough to do.  But that's why I write stories, so I can do everything in them I can't in RL. 

    'm glad you see how much research I'm putting in here, i spend hours on the web on different sites reading about hawks and falconry just so i can have Severus and Harry behave like a hawk and falconer. And there will be a time when Harry flies and Severus has to call him in and the strength of that bond will be tested then.

    yes, I do have ideas for sequels, but can't write them now as I'm writing this one and another Sev/Lily romance called Irresistable Chemistry on ff.net.  But I will eventually get back to them, I just need to devote all my energy to them otherwise they won't turn out right. 

    Anyway, hope you enjpy the next chapter, I'll be posting it as soon as I can.

    I can't believe it! It was a fake prophecy all along?!
    I love this twist. It is so wonderful and original.
    Dumbledore is in really big trouble now. ;-}
    I always wondered why Dumbledore seemed to do little to nothing about Umbrige "taking over" the school. This really gives a little more background to it.
    So Severus took wizarding law huh? It would be interesting to know why. Did he need it because he was going to do/had done his mastery and he would be creating new potions and needed to know how to get copyrights? I would love to see that little bit of history expanded. ;-}

    I loved Fawkes, I hope that he will make another appearance in the story. ;-}

    About the sequels, I understand about having to finish one story before starting to work on another. I just wanted to ask. ;-}

    Yes, Harry is very PO'd at Dumbles right now, and Albus better watch out. 

    Yes, Severus did take some law classes, you'll find out more about that a little later.  Fawkes might make a repeat appearance when necessary.

    Incredible, incredible, incredible!!

    I loved this chapter!! Actually, I think that I say that about all of the chapters... but I like this one more. ;-}

    I loved how you had Severus tell his own story with Lily. You did it very well. I have tried to use the characters to tell the back story before, and it sound very dry, but you did a really great job here, switching back and forth from the present to the past. Very very good. ;-}

    I also liked Harry/Freedom almost taking offense at Severus saying that he would protect Harry "By whatever means necessary". Poor Sev, He might have a little bit of a problem on his hands with trying to convince Harry of that. ;-}

    All in all, superb chapter, and I can't wait for the next.

    Thanks! I tried to tell it  a bit differently, because I wanted you to see Severus's side of things and also Harry's reaction.

    Yes, Sev might have a problem, especially since Harry is a lot more outgoing as a hawk than he was as a boy.
