About me:

I have been writing fan fiction for the Harry Potter series since 2007.  I blame my boss, who told me about this wonderful, whacky world of fans writing impossible stories for tales that they love.  I generally write strange pairings when i'm not focused on the fguardian relationship between harry and Severus.  My other works can be found on Archive of Our Own under the same pen-name, though be warned, some are fairly dark.

I am a red head (go gingers!), a dog groomer by trade, close to half a century old, and am also an avid animal lover.  In my spare time, I care for three dogs and a husband who is not only odd, but comes from the island of Borneo.  While he doesn't share my affinity for telling tales, he does love animals and has a terrific sense of humor that shows itself at odd times.  I am the proud step-monster to three children and step-grandmonster to one and half grandchildren  (My oldest daughter is due in September! (Woot!)

Thanks for reading this, and feel free to check out my stories.

Title: Chapter 10: Nuttin' For Christmas 28 Dec 2009

We did not have naughty children, just a naughty blizzard. I'm glad your Christmas went well.

While I don't agree with corporal punishment, I can see where Augustus would be at his wits end with Harry's behavior. Harry really was too little to be anywhere on the roof, and lying was certainly not what he should have done. That was a good bit of writing you did with the scene between Severus and Augustus when Severus revealed a little about his life with Tobias.

    Thanks for the great read.

    Author's Response:

Ah we had the blizzard before Christmas, but it was still pretty good. 24 inches of snow in south Jersey. Haven't seen a storm like that in over 10 years at the shore.

Yes, Augustus just lost it there and he did regret it later. Glad you liked that discussion he had with Severus it was a hard one to write, Severus kept wanting to clam up about his past and I didn't let him. I felt it wa simportant for August sweet and us to know about it.

Hope you like the next chapter, it's more sweet and fluffy.

Man there were times I wish I could hex people in the store. I wish I knew that spell. I fear that Snape and Harry's secret may not hold for much longer. And what an evil woman that Petunia is. I hope she gets hers soon.

I enjoyed and I"m off to the next chappie.

    Author's Response:

me too! Both when checking them out and then waiting on line.

It'll hold just long enough for him to get to Hogwarts. Petunia really is evil and what goes around comes around.

    Thanks so much!

Very good start. I can't wait to read more. I love stories where Snape didn't become a Death Eater.

Author's Response: Me too! That's why usually he isn't one in my fics. Thanks for reading and I've just updated. The next part is longer as Severus gets to know Harry.

Aw, poor Severus and Harry. There is a learning curve to parenthood, and Severus has started learning. I hope they will settle into a routine because at this rate, Severus will either kill himself or give Harry away. Good job. I enjoyed the chapter immensely.

Author's Response: Yes, you're absoulutely right.  Harry does need a routine, unfortunately Severus is too exhausted to get him into one right now, since he's not had any sleep in 24 hours. But if Harry stays with him, he'll make sure he has a schedule.  I've just updated, so now you can see what happens next! Thanks for reading!

That was a nice chapter. I enjoyed the pangs that Snape is going through. He really isn't an less suited than any other new parent. Here's to Harry getting well and Severus getting a better job.

    Thanks for the update.

Author's Response: That's true, he isn't, but he thinks he is, because he has a self-confidence problem and is a perfectionist.  Take a look at the next chapter to see what happens next with regards to Harry and Severus' situation. Thanks for reading and reviewing! :)

Aw, good idea about the knapsack. My mother made something similar when I was a baby. She got the idea when she and my dad were living in Japan. Great job on Harry's reaction to hurting Snape. Even though it was an accident, a child who has been verbally abused as you've described, would take the situation as their fault. Thanks for sharing this. As for when I want the new chapter... Uh, is tomorrow too soon?

    Author's Response:

Wow that's really cool! I thought of that idea when a customer came into B & N where I work and had a kind of snugglie on their back with a baby in it.  Yes, that's true. harry has been made to feel that it's always been his fault if something goes wrong. But if he's going to be living permanently with Severus, he'll soon realize that's not the case.

    I've just posted again!

Lovely chapter. I loved Augustus. Somehow I don't think he's going to be that easy to get along with. An older person who hasn't been around a baby in a while tends to forget what mess-making, poo monkeys they are.

I like that the house elf spoke standard English. In that house, I'm sure it's required for them to do so.

    Thanks for sharing.

    Author's Response:

You're right. He's not all that easygoing and Severus and Harry will have to learn how to compromise a bit.

Yes, it is. The Prince house elves are very much like beloved English retainers in all those Victorian novels.  They are almost like members of the family and so speak correct English. Augustus values proper speech and he is very formal when he wants to be.

You're welcome and I've posted again so enjoy!

Nice chapter. I loved how you brought the Prince family history in without making it a lecture. The use of the decorations made it more poignant. Thanks for the chapter.

    Author's Response: Thanks again!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I have a new chapter up by the way. Glad you liked my family background with ornament emphasis.

I'm glad it's longer than intended. I'm really enjoying this story. Yes, the terrible twos will turn into the trying threes and the frightening fours... you get the picture. Somehow I knew that Harry was going to eat the berries when you mentioned hunger and the birds. It's something a two year old would do, most definitely. My niece ate a quarter when she was that age. After that she wouldn't touch those chocolate coins that come out at Christmas.

Loved the chapter. I can't wait for more.

    Author's Response:

Oh yes, I know exactly what you mean, I have 11 nieces and nephews and I watched all of them and lived with four of them for a long time and then I taught preschool--yes, I am insane. I've had them stick beads up their nose, swallow an alphabet magnet, and light a basement on fire. And one of my students smacked another kid in the head with a Tonka truck and nearly knocked the poor girl out. Then I got bit by the psycho kid from hell. It's at those times that I really sympathize with Severus getting all snappy with his students.

And here's a new chapter for you!
