Summer after fourth year is finally over, and things are not as expected when Harry makes it back to the magical world. Badly broken and determined for it to stop, Harry turns to, surprisingly, a certain Potions Master, who in turn finds within himself, of all places, a heart still beating and waiting to love, and be loved in turn.

- I respectfully submit to you that Severus is nothing if not elegantly efficient in his speech. It both fits his character AND scans better, if he were to end this sentence thus: "There were enough images of downright torture to upset even you, the Ultimate Optimist.”

After Harry cast the Sectumsempra spell on Malfoy in HBP, Snape sees it as his responsibility to make Harry feel the consequences. Will what follows change their relationship? The Story starts in the bathroom directly after the curse hit Malfoy and Snape rushed in and healed him. This version is written from Snape's perspective.

- What an enjoyable story! I really like your having both sides/stories running concurrently.
One thing you might look at: 32 lines up from the bottom, the sentence beginning "Determined to show Snape he could do it..." should end a little differently. The word "not" should be deleted, so it reads "...Harry closed his eyes in order to ward off all distractions."
Otherwise, he doesn't want to ward off the distractions, and logically, that's the opposite of what I think you're after.
Just a slip, I'm sure.
Keep on having Snape and Harry learning to appreciate the other's perspective (as best as they can!)--and Happy New Year!

When Harry and his new, pretty neighbor are rescued from Privet Drive on the eve of a Death Eater attack, Severus becomes Harry's reluctant guardian and healer in the weeks following. Old prejudices are challenged as Harry's new friend casts her own spell over Hogwarts' Potions Master.

So, you like this better than A Shocking Discovery, do you. Interesting. I have a few people who have said that, but most, I think, prefer ASD. Certainly by the number of hits and reviews on fanfic ASD comes out way in front.

- I guess you just had a plot outline and followed it. You had such great emotion going, I feel bad telling you I'm disappointed you ended this already.
It was such a promising premise, I do hope that at some time you revisit it and rework this into a longer storyline. It's just too good to end so abruptly.
