| Happily married for 20 years, this coming October. Two lovely daughters, four lovely grandkids. I always knew Snape was the most interesting character in the series! I love good writing, especially with good spelling and good grammar. [Report This]

Excellent story! I enjoy your imaginative ways of exploring the Severus-Harry story possibilities. You're a good writer. Keep it up! And...Thank you.
Sequel to A Time and Place to Grow - After spending a summer with Snape, Harry begins his sixth year at Hogwarts. But Snape is keeping an eye and a firm hand on him, and a new teacher, split loyalties and a looming fight with the Dark Lord await Harry.

I like Harry and Severus figuring out their relationship together. You're doing a nice job; thanks for your hard work.
As Harry comes of age, he must discover the secret of how Voldemort cheated death and find a way to defeat this evil once and for all. Along the way, he will have to contend with Death Eaters, shadowy Ministry officials and suspicions that threaten to tear his own allies apart. And he will need to delve farther than ever before into the mysteries of the mind where victory can only be won by freeing the chained souls.

You are one of the very best writers of Snape that I have ever read, and by now I have read hundreds, possibly thousands of HP fan fic stories. In this chapter alone you capture that exquisite balance between darkness and light, danger and healing that embodies Snape's character. In addition, the way your draw the parallels between Harry's character and his is thought-provoking for us as well as Harry. In short, this is one of the most irresistable Harry Potter series around, and I am including Rowling's originals in that list. If I could give you more points at a single time, I would.

I have read and reread this story a number of times. The tension in this chapter as polyjuiced Severus impersonates Lucius is very well written. But I simply must comment on that wonderfully funny throwaway line you have before he even leaves Hogwarts. It's at dinner, while he's at the feast, waiting to leave, his nerves acting up a bit: "Snape knew that if he came face to face with the snake there was a very good chance that he wouldn’t walk out again.
'Chicken, Severus?' McGonagall said pleasantly.
'Of course not,' Snape snarled, glaring at the woman sitting next to him.
McGonagall blinked at him, obviously taken aback, but she recovered her composure at once and her smile was only slightly strained as she set down the dish of roast chicken..." Now that was cute and funny! No one else has ever mentioned it, and I really thought it deserved to be, so I finally acknowledged what a great little rim-shot joke that was!
Harry gets some surprising news. He was adopted. His father is alive and he has a brother; named Severus Snape. Beta'd by breannatala

My husband, who is tall, remembers very clearly how painful it was for him at 14 when he grew into his adult height. His legs were what really hurt: those long leg bones growing.
An "ALLY" is a friend, someone with whom you are allied. An "ALLEY" is what you walk on, that smallish street behind the houses, like Diagon Alley.

You're not a bad story-teller at all. I don't think you know how distracting some of your misspellings are, however.
Nice touch, that both children Lily and Severus protect Harry! How poetic!
