nice touch with the AA meetings idea, lol, can just imagine it, at lot of writers pick up on the Dumbledore's obsessive sweet tooth, put the image of him sitting in a candy eaters anonymous meeting is just hilarious.
Hope you continue with the story it has great potential.

After Harry is caught for exploding a cauldron in 2nd year Potions, Snape insists he keep a firm hand on the boy he must secretly protect. However, he discoveres that there is more to the twelve year old than unruliness and disrespect. Similarly, Harry learns from and gains a new perspective of his professor.

Swiping at a bead of melted snow on his forehead with a gloved knuckle, Harry frowned as he perused his professor’s everyday robes. “You’re not wearing one either,” the boy mildly argued. He brushed the snow away from his hair, shivering as the cold wetness seeped into his scalp. “You don’t even have a coat on.”
“Completely irrelevant.”

Poor Harry. So they're off on a treasure hunt Snape and Potter.. ohhh, this should be fun. :)
Author's Response: Thanks for the review, Cecilia! :) That small scene was one of my favorites to write in this chapter...where Snape shows concern in his own masked way...lol. And yes, they're off on a hunt, I suppose; although who knows how far they'll actually get before Snape gets fed up and shoves Harry in the Floo.. ;) It's great to see that you're still reading. - I don't know why but i found this chapter immensely uncomfortable, even more than the ending of the last chapter. It seems as though the two don't really know what's going on between the two of them, although they know that something is going on. It seems that at one point Snape's implying that he cares about Harry like a parent and that he worries about him in the same way. And then when Harry asks him why he's telling him about his parents, i was willing Snape to turn around and say "so how about it?" lol. Completely unfeasible at this point. Don't think Snape would ask Harry if he wants to be his son. But well this is the soppy land of fanfiction and there are some who don't do it with quite as much skill and subtlety. I'm not sure that any of this is making sense but it is in the wee hours of the morning so i have tiredness as an excuse. Please upday soon. I know everybody says it but we do mean it.

Well, to be honest, the tension you felt as you read was deliberate, so I'm actually thrilled to hear that this chapter had such an effect on you. LOL. I would love to have Severus claim Harry as his own in this story; however, I try to go about their relationship in a realistic way (in relation to the books), and I try to keep both of them in character as much as I can. Very subtle developments in their relationship...you're exactly right. ;) And as this IS Severus Snape, he always strikes me as a man whose explanations wouldn't make much sense to a twelve year old. Dumbledore always takes the time to explain himself thoroughly, but Snape can be impatient and aggressive, and therefore, he would probably end up blurting out his frustration, just as he did in this chapter.
I will try to update as soon as I can. This weekend, I literally had to put up the invisible "Please don't talk to me" cage in order to finish this chapter. LOL. But that doesn't always work in my household. I'll work hard this week to crank out another installment of EE. Promise :) Thank you so much for the review, Cecilia!

- Wonderful, this is my favourite chapter so far. Its intense and heartwarming. There relationship is really coming along, i think Snape is beginning to see just how much he cares about Harry. Arh i guess your on the home straight now, not many more chapters until your finished? will you write a sequel, i can tell you that there are many worshipping readers who would do anything for one! Can't wait for the next chapter, no more suspense filled endings its just cruel!!! lol.

Yay! I'm quite tickled it's your favorite. :) LOL. I love writing the heartwarming stuff but have had to really restrain myself considering this is Harry and Snape we're talking about... It's been difficult, let me tell you. ;) I've got one more chapter and an epilogue until I'm finished. I meant for this to be my final chapter, but I didn't want to post a chapter any longer than 4000 words, so I just decided to split it up. So yes, I'm definitely almost finished... *sniffle* It's sad. But I love that you've enjoyed this story.
I've had sketchy thoughts about a sequel, but I haven't planned anything definite. I promise I'll keep thinking about it, though.

- *Cringe* Oh dear. Not so sure, but you did warn us. Its very endearing in a nice way. Snape probably guessed that Harry had never been 'held' before and wanted to show him that he cared.
Anyway, it was a good read, you were right its a'warm and fuzzy'one.

- I don't think Snape would say "Peachy" in a million years, but the part about the blood was bloody hillarious! I can just imagine him delighting over such a rumour.

After the Dobby incident at the beginning of the second book, Harry runs away, and Snape kidnaps him. In an old-fashioned house with no comforts and a huge black dog, Harry finds himself at Snape's mercy as Snape plays mind games and makes Harry live through different scenarios. Though Snape seems crazy and psychotic, Harry begins to see reasons behind Snape's sporadic behavior.
There is corporal punishment, but it is different from what I've written before. This is a Mean!Snape story for the most part. If you're looking for a cuddly story, go elsewhere please.

Remus can't be dead! Can't be. Dammit. Poor Tonks. HBP all over again. I think your going to make me cry. Its like watching a car crash in slow motion, i keep reading it again and again, thinking maybe i've read it wrong and that he wan't hit.
Hmm. On a lighter note, i love this part, its so soppy:
“I wanted the Hat to choose Slytherin,” his father spoke through the howl, his voice sounding as though it would crack if he didn’t close his mouth. Harry stared at him. “I would not have admitted it, but I wanted you to be mine again…as soon as I saw you.” Harry put a hand on his father’s arm. Severus’ fingers closed over his. “If I had known…” he whispered.
And Harry understood. “I’m yours now,” he reassured his father, not at all surprised at how fragile his father really was. His dad pulled his arm from under Harry’s hand and reached it quickly around his shoulder. Severus pulled Harry to him. Harry smiled as he felt his father's lips press once, very quickly against the top of his head. And then father and son sat in contentment one last time.
You really like plunging into the human soul don't you, and oh you do it so well. This story's like a bloody emotional rollarcoaster, you don't know where the hell your going to end up. And somehow i don't think that your anywhere near the top yet with this. Ohhh i can't wait to read more.
