Poor Harry! Draco's such an ass. I'm intrigued by your Dumbledore though...

Author's Response: Draco is a royal ass, lol. This is not going to be a story where he gets friendly over night so beware and thanks for your review!

Ohhhh i wonder what they have got planned? lol.

Author's Response: You will just have to wait and see, lol. Sorry Cecilia, I will tell you that it involves the Giant Squid, (wink). Thanks for the review!

A near tragedy and a shocking discovery lead two bitter enemies to much soul searching and eventual acceptance of each other. Much angst along the way though. Some Ginny and Harry.

Oh everybody loves a ranting Snape lol. I particularly like your sneering one. ;) Also I thought that the interplay between Remus and Snape was interesting and well-crafted, just the right balance of insinuation and jibs to make the conversation believable but also to faithfully convey their character. I'm still not sure that Snape would ever succumb to throwing something like a glass across a room though, I understand that the stress was more than average(understatement!) but its just that I can't conceive of somebody who stands immovably and stoically before the Dark Lord witnessing horrendous acts of menace not breakdown at that but at something less traumatic such as finding out that the 'boy-who-lived-to-give-him-a-breakdown' is his son and having to deal with his school hood enemy. But then again he was slightlllllyyy inebriated lol, I wonder if it its as mind strenuous though as a homicidal manic trying to break into your mind and rape you of your deepest and most hidden secrets..... Hmmm. On a lighter not I thought that your Dumbledore was excellent and as manipulatingly brilliant as ever, as if he didn't know that there was going to be a brawl when he got the cognac out! Maybe he thought it would loosen tongues and therefore cause a tete-a-tete- sooner, thus making it easier for him to manipulate them all once Remus agreed to help Snape, he would be able to have Remus' eyes and ears.... Well speculation speculation. Thanks for the great chappie, it was a delight to read. :)))

    Author's Response:

    Hi Cecilia,

Thanks for your very in-depth review. I love getting the long ones.About Sev losing control and throwing the glass...in my little world, that little display was just a case of the straw that broke the camel's back. It was Sev's way of showing that he has had enough of everything--Dumbledore, Lupin, the Dark lord, fear, trying to learn how to be a parent to a child that you have never liked--get the idea. He can't throw glasses in the presence of the Dark Lord. He knows he can do anything in front of Albus and not be hit with the Cruciatis Curse or the Killing Curse. it's his turn to be the belligerant child. Why should Harry have all the fun? oh, yeah, my Sev tends to lose himself a litle too much in the bottle when he is stressed. We saw that earlier. Watch for that habit coming back to bite him on the bum later.

Glad you like my DD. I do try to keep my characters as close to canon as I can considering the circumstances of the story would never have happened in canon.

Thanks so much for reading. Hope to hear from you again.

    ~Lesley~

A duel with Draco leads to drastic and permanent consequences for both Harry and Severus.

Ohhh, i know you already know but that was a little short! a bit of a filler, i really really like it, its got a certain rigid off feeling about it the whole atmosphere, a kind of stilfing sadness to it. I wonder when they'll find out what Harry's up to, and whether he'll mobilise his plans while he's with Snape? but if he can't be more than a certain distance away and for a certain amount of time how is he going to off Voldie? Perhaps he could side apparate with Snape to a death eater meetin, can't see that going down too well. Oh well. Please please give us more. Can't wait for the next chapter!!!

Author's Response: Thank you!  Voldie will make his appearance before summer is over.  I'm still working on the details, but I have the general idea of it already planned.  Hopefully it will live up to expectations, though I admit I'm more focused on Severus, Harry, and the emotional angsty side of things.

That was nice, i wonder if the next chapter will be in Harry's perspective? would be quite interesting to see how Harry finds Snape and whether their perceptions match up. :)
Other than that this was a nice little chapter, can't wait for the action though. Although there's not much action going on physically in this chapter, there's quite a bit emotionally, i like how your building up the relationship between the two. The 'talk' was interesting, who would of thought it, Poppy with her reprimands has made Snape into something closer resembling a father than an evil git of a potions master or a slave master. With those little touches: giving him an allowance, checking up on him getting to know him better aren't really the things that a master would do, but yet there probably not so obviously fatherly that Snape would notice what he's doing is fatherly. (I know that the above is blindingly obvious, but i liked the subtle deliverly of your writing).
    Thanks.
    Cecilia

    Author's Response:

Thank you!  Yes, I think in the next chapter Harry will begin to wonder about Severus and how he's changed.  I admit, I've never thought writing action scenes was my strong point.  It is a weakness in my writing.  I much prefer angsty and mushy scenes.  I've always said that I could be perfectly happy with a story with no real plot just as long as there was lots of cuddly interaction with my favorite characters.  I do have some action scenes planned, though, but I'm really quite nervous about them, so we'll just have to see how they go.

Yes, I'm so glad you think Severus is acting 'fatherly' though it's not so obvious as to scare him off.  He sees it as just trying to do the right thing.  I do want Harry and Severus to develop a father/son relationship...that is one way that Sev is going to try to help Harry accept the slavery spell in the future, by emphasising that he sees Harry as his son, not as a slave.  Thanks again!

Yay yay updates! I love this story its brilliant. oohhh I like the word 'sequel'. :)))

Author's Response: Thank you!  I'm not 100% decided on the sequel, but I have had some ideas for one and it's tempting.  But there's still a good ways to go on this one first, so we'll see.

This is a one-shot for AYLNO. If you haven't read the series, don't read this!

I like it, it really meshes well with Aspens characterisation of Harry. You really know how to capture the mood. I particularly like the end and the subtle shift in object, from the darkness of his perception to the darkness of his mind and the light that is his family which love him and which left unsaid still leave its mark on him. I can't wait until aspen's sequel's ready, come on!!! lol. :) Well if past example is anything to go by it should be bril.
    Cheers.

Au: Second Year. A little bit of healthy snooping reveals some old documents that will have Harry's life quickly spiralling out of control and have him questioning: Who Am I?

Author's Response: Definately, the plot is thickening nicely...

Very interesting... either Harry's like Tonks and is a metamorphis (?) or is really Snape's son and can take off some kind of glamour charm that has been placed upon him, at will.
Oh well i guess we'll find out soon.
Good Chappie, looking forward to the next.
    Cecilia

Will be explained in about chapter eightish... and a little bit more later on

     Thanks for the review!

Ohhh who's in the mirror? Will Dumbles and Snape figure out Harry's secret. Why are they lying so blantantly to him, he found the bloody receipt and knows the name of the company, why wouldn't Dumbles and Snape admit it, unless there was another plot afoot, or Snape really doesn't know... His reaction was a bit extreme though. Lol. Anyway you devil you! you can't leave us all saliavating for more like this. Lol :) Please update soon.

Author's Response: Read next chpater is all I can comment. Snape has his reasons and yeah his is OCC... but I would say 95% of Snapes on this website are OCC.
